Pemigewasset Region Backpacking: Day 2

Day 2 of backpacking in the Pemigewasset area: started from Liberty Spring tentsite through the Liberty Spring trail. From there we took the Franconia Ridge trail (AT) to the summit of Little Haystack ( Elevation: 4760 ft), although it’s over 4K in elevation it’s actually not one of the NH48. From Little Haystack, we followed the Franconia Ridge trail (AT) to the summit of Mt. Lincoln ( Elevation: 5089 ft) (NH48) and to Mt. Lafayette ( Elevation: 5260 ft) (NH48). From Mt. Lafayette, we descended through the Garfield Ridge Trail and the long slog to the summit of Mt. Garfield ( Elevation: 4500 ft) (NH48) and descended to the Garfield Ridge campsite for a well deserved rest.
