Fantastic video. For all of us here in Europe, this is the Opel Frontera mark I. Many people still use those cars. Thank you for the video and greetings from Portugal.
Was playing with my 94 MU (mysterious utility) the steering wheel was a bit wobbly, opened up the steering cover, found 3 10mm bolts that were all, loose, huge difference!
Great job! Thanks for keeping that one on the roads and off. This REALLY brings me back. I had an original '89 Amigo XS 4x4 2.6L, spark blue just like yours but with the sun/moon roof. After about 25 years I had other responsibilities and couldn't hold out always wanting to restore it. Seeing all of those contours, handles, wing windows, and those funny dash buttons, I can recall that tactile feel of everything. Man I miss that car. :) Have fun!
Just bought a red 99 amigo and I’m in love with it already it’s 4x4 leather interior , the body has only one small dent on the driver side and other than that it’s mint condition 😎👌🏼...I’m getting it painted dark charcoal grey next month 😎👌🏼
I sold one a few years back that matches that description what does it look like mine had stickers all over the outside be funny if you happen to get it probably not it but had to ask
Wow!!! That turned out great! Such an excellent job! Only changes I would have made would have been a center console from 97-03 Grand prix modified to fit and look nice and spray on bed liner in the rear half of the interior. But that's just me thinking out loud.
I'm a junkyard picker and diy'er all day, but I've never learned to paint with a proper setup. Do you have any recommendations for buying an air compressor for a first timer on a budget? I've never owned one large enough for HVLP painting and want to get one that will work, just for my own projects, without going overboard (both on price and specs).
Very beauty truck, to chile came two versions of this truck. Was the isuzu amigo "gasoline" 2.3 cc or 2.6 cc and the isuzu Mu "turbo diesel" 2.8cc or 3.2cc. The isuzu mu was have a fiber glass back top with windows of glass.
This was fantastic. I'm picking up an 89 Amigo this weekend actually. This video will be so helpful for some of the work I plan to do on it. There is so little about these cars on the net, let alone presented so clearly as this. Great work on the editing as well. What soft top did you guys purchase? It looks great!
Very good job!!! Greetings from Siberia (Russia)! I own the same ISUZU AMIGO 1990 for more than 15 years, the car only pleases with its reliability( you can watch a couple of videos on my page) How much does the folding roof you have installed cost and where can I buy it?(manufacturer's website) Write me an answer and I will be very grateful to you!
That is a great video, I'm interested on doing a restoration myself, but I was wondering how much did you spend on yourse, the car is about $1600 so I don't know if is worth the trouble.
Greatg job! I followed all your projects but what happened to the Beetle? UI don't see it in the garage and didn't see it in the bugeye project either!
Well... Since I live in Thailand where Isuzu is one of the most market-sought brandd, they are built to last especially ones manufactured during this Amigo's time. Though it is 2021, I still see the old Isuzu pick-up lorries of the 1980-1990 generation running down the road and going about on a daily basis. My grandpa had one of Isuzu pick-up (Early 1990s Model) which is still running fine. Isuzu engines, like Toyota, require a tad bit of care and they will go on forever. Do note tho that they are not fast or noiseless but they perform anything you have for them and they usually do it well! Highly recommended!
Hi. Where did you find the gasket between the body and the hardtop. My isuzu amigo is leaking a lot of water inside and I need to fix that. Please let me know and thanks a lot for you help
I have a cherry 99 Amigo but I need new mirrors anyone know where I can find them? Dealer wants like 500 for a pair and I don't want used ones from ebay.
hello, im a bloke in australia with one, would u be able to link me some of your sites or places that might or do have parts? they are extreamly rare over where i live and can barley find any in the whole country. im in possession of a 1992 2.8 isuzu mu 4seater yours truly

Thank you for the video and greetings from Portugal.
Cool fun 90's retro. These first gen Amigos are rare now and so so cheap. They true bargains.
I had one just like this. Color and all. Had it for 13 years. I still have the convertible bow that I saved!
Hey John, I need a bow for my Vauxhall Frontera's convertible roof (Identical cousin in RHD). Would you consider selling to me?
I did a complete teardown of my 90 Pup 2 weeks ago. My parts have arrived can't wait to build it this weekend. That's a beautiful hombre
You're wise to make this video with your father. What a gem you will always appreciate this.
I would like my Isuzu like that ..... some day very soon I hope, congratulations
❤❤❤❤isuzu😊😊😊😊

They're pretty cool!
Great job, I've had my Amigo since may of 1990, great vehicle and has required very little work. I did need a new clutch 2 years ago...

Hola Wilson, necesitamos más videos de estos, son muy motivadores!!

Man he is a really good mechanic love the videos i want to see some one pay him to restore a car for them
I was given a black ‘94 amigo 5 speed manual. Need a new head gasket but I want to get it back up and running one day!

It's 90s not 80s these cars are super underrated
Amazing, amazing work. I'm thoroughly impressed and inspired (you make it look so easy though 😂 )!!

Good work. More videos of the Isuzu
Looks awesome you guys did a great job but personally I think that rare hard top looks best on it.
Good work
I just bought one in Nampa and live here as well I'd like to come check it out sometime
PERFECT!
Neat Truck..!! I'm looking at a 90 amigo right now.
That interior looks way too nice to replace.
They are a great car! Works really well in the snow with their 4 wheel drive!
What kind of angle are the CV Joints at with the torsion cranked that much? Any performance issues?
Bravo,

What paint setup was used for painting the car?
What size speakers can you run in the back, I am trying to do a audio system upgrade
Muy buen trabajo, venderías el hard top que le quitaste?

What a rad little truck! I loved these when I was a kid. How has parts availability been overall?
The availability of parts is too much since it shares too many parts with the rodeo and trooper and there are too many of these trucks
Where did you get the snaps for soft tap?
I have the same interior, except right hand drive, my right seat is quite worn, so I need a passenger seat!
Greatg job! I followed all your projects but what happened to the Beetle? UI don't see it in the garage and didn't see it in the bugeye project either!
We sold it years ago
How reliable are these? I've never heard of this particular model until now, and I'm not very familiar with Isuzu's reputation.

Do you guys have a link for the top? All the ones I'm seeing are upwards of 300 USD?
Hi. Where did you find the gasket between the body and the hardtop. My isuzu amigo is leaking a lot of water inside and I need to fix that. Please let me know and thanks a lot for you help
I wish the amigo came with the 6VD1
Great car! I bought this from my father and it drives so well in the snow!
@@maxwillson awesome! I have two first gen rodeos, I always have snow tires and have had no issues in snowy conditions.
what headlights are in this I have a 1994 but the headlights are terrible
I have a 1992 and I can't even see when there is a car coming at me, just put some LEDS in it
I've never had a problem with my headlights, I think I have replaced them 1 time in 30 years
I have a cherry 99 Amigo but I need new mirrors anyone know where I can find them? Dealer wants like 500 for a pair and I don't want used ones from ebay.

guys i have i isuzu wizard cool
I own a 2000 Isuzu Amigo. It’s been sitting for roughly 6 years. I would love to restore it; is it reasonable? Am I being ridiculous?
It's basically an isuzu rodeo. Also most of the parts are GM and honda. So they are still available.
I have a 1992 Isuzu picking do the rodeo or the passport set fit into a 1992
Yo tengo uno aca en Colombia que estoy vendiendo FOR SALE
Any interest in selling?
Hello Friend, How can I get in touch with you? I'm looking for a soft top for this model. Can you point me to a store that sells it? Thanks
Hi!! I have the same car. In Russia. Where can I buy soft top for it? Help me please people :-)
Does anyone else have low compression in one cylander and any advice or a 2.6 liter motor
the isuzu 4ze1 has some issues with heat so and I know in mine the valves were too tight when I got them.
Ok thank you
Cylinder heads are known have hair line cracks and leak coolant into the combustion chamber. This where compression is lost.
Where did you get the soft top and frame?
