J-Bug left the team simply due to demotivation and wanting to try something new.

I love how absolutely thrilled sans looks while he's sapping your determination; he's so fucking excited to FINALLY have a chance to actually defeat the human without them just resetting the timeline. aswell as how scared he looks when you actually survive most of phase 2: his once in a lifetime (or once in infinite lives) chance is falling apart. victory is slipping from his grasp and he knows it. now sans, who is rarely scared of anything, is visibly stressing the fuck out and is quite literally shaking in fear by the last phase.
I don't think he's shaking in fear in the last phase in the slightest, honestly. It's more like he knows it's his final possible chance to stop the human permanently and his theme reflects his determination to make it true. He knows he's not allowed to fuck up anymore, and he's sure as shit gonna act on that. It's a ballad of the only "hero" left.
We, the player are such a stubborn person. No matter how many times someone kills us, we always come back. No matter how much hard they try to talk and convince us to stop, we will always refuse. Because we, as the player, *always have a choice.* We have the choice to always go back. The choice to see a different outcome. So the only way to beat the player is to take their ability to make choices away. And Sans did just that by sealing our soul away. It is also why you feel so powerless and forced to follow others choices in Deltarune. *Because you no longer have a choice.* You can never see a different outcome. This is such an amazing animation. And I'm looking forward to this project :)
@@f1reflam3 I mean, it's still correct. You literally have to resort to a proxy to do your deeds (the proxy being Noelle.) You can no longer make choices yourself. Sure, you can manipulate others, but you'll never again be able to make a TRUE choice (relating to which outcome you'll find in the end.)

Sans special attacks: Literally Nothing Talking things out Using the rarely seen Genuine sans smile Sans normal attacks: *Bullet hell to end all bullet hells*
Even if it's subtle, one of the things I love the most of this animation is the narration Chara does in Phase 2. "What's the plan?" "It hurts... It hurts..." Although it's just text, it certainly feels like Chara is genuinely scared for once, and is worried this might be it. That there might truly be no going back now. They don't know what to do now, and it really shows. And while Chara regains that usual confidence and sense of control once Phase 3 begins, that singular moment of fear and uncertainty goes a long way. (or at least, that's how I see it lmao)

Still happy I got to work on this, even if it wasn't complete. There are a lot of flaws, but I'm certain the game will make up for them and possibly even become better than what the Animation tried to be. Can't wait to see where this AU turns up, happy to be a part of it.
I always feel like some sort of hopelessness whenever Gaster, the person who exists outside of the game's rules, timeline, and the game itself, gets killed himself like all the others, it shows just how unstoppable the player can be.

I swear, 11:21 slaps so hard, the dialogue preparing us for what is coming, to then show Gaster with his final blow, you can tell he's putting a lot of effort in it: Glitching the movement box and attacking with more glitches, using Gaster Blasters and finiahing with a stunning hand orange-blue kind attack. After that, we can see he remains smiling, yet really tired, while Papyrus does an amazing and super fast paced attack, with some help from Gaster, to end it with Sans, showing his despair after seeing how even that attack didn't kill us, all of this with the amazing song that bears the name of the project on its best part. Just amazing!

I liked how the final attack in Phase 3 had a background similar to Earthbound. That, and the Homestuck version of Megalovania, were really nice touches to enhance Sans' victory.

never ever heard of this before, showed up in my recommendations and i've never been more happy to click on a video in my life that was so god damn amazing omg the music was phenomenal, and the animations were beautiful, huge props to that, despite this not even being completed yet. when papyrus died right in front of sans i almost screamed i felt that and even with that like where you beg and it says "sans doesn't care" that hit me harder then it should've lol i can't wait for the game,10/10 damn
im glad that even if the animation were to be finished, the dialogue would be changed since based on this prototype i can see the dialogue was just a base and not "end result" since its kinda lacking, but still everyone one the team did a great job with trying to animate this hard! wish you luck with the game and engine, maybe in your offtime you could allow people to make their own projects with the engine if you make a handbook lol quick edit: i also love how you reduced one level when pap "came back" it shows that you did your homework while animating too which i adore!

something i haven't seen anyone comment on is the final moments of Panic Attack As Sans throws your soul (literally) into what should be a guaranteed death, his expression changes from worried to seemingly... well not happy but relieved? idk, because at that moment he believes that he has won, that he is about to kill you, and there's no way you can avoid it... but as your soul continues to stand there, refusing to shatter, as your hp drops further and further but never reaching 0, his expression loses it's confidence, and the despair returns... and it's really sad to watch he almost had his moment of triumph, he SHOULD OF had it, of finally freeing the world from this demon that cheats and murders for satisfaction, but you don't let him frisk, chara, the player, whoever you believe to be in control, doesn't let sans have victory at the cost of their defeat, they don't die even when it means cheating every rule the world follows it's a lot like the true pacifist ending of the actual game, where asriel attempts to kill you with an attack that can't miss, and your hp just goes into the decimals... but unlike that fight, it feels a lot less deserved you're not fighting for anyone but you, there's no lives at risk but your own if you fail So good job saster and crew, because literally changing 2 pixels was an amazing detail... i mean, i definitely over-analysed this, but it's still a cool detail regardless edit: something i realised, perhaps in undertale it is a universal rule that attacks must be dodgeable for them to kill, unless the receiver accepts their death, but idk, just something to note since in the canon storyline the only time your health goes into the decimals is against an undodgeable attack

100% agree. All undertale fangames seem to suffer from bad-grammar-itis, but this one did so considerably less. Hopefully the finished version will have superb writing, as some of this version did! Bravo to everyone on the team, this is easily the best fan made battle animation yet! Absolutely superb! Can't wait to see the final version with improved writing and such, I'm sure it'll be absolutely mind blowing. :)

Okay but can we appreciate the fact that sans kept fighting in phase 3 even as his skull and face were melting. Imagine how brutally painful it would be to have parts of your body melt like icecream and be able to feel it all.
I noticed a lot of hidden messages in the text boxes from Gaster throughout this animation. Mostly just Gaster spouting out random judgemental phrases, plus most of them are too faint to make much out of them, but it's still cool!

I have something important to say to anyone who is mad about the fact that the monsters win: There is ONE ending shown. The game hasn't released yet. Please wait with your hate until the game releases, since there were 2 other endings leaked. And, it is pretty much sure that sans is dead. Also, that is your opinion, I am sure a lot of players, including me, are sure that we are the evil one and this ending is rather good than bad.

this animation is WONDERFUL and even 10 months later from time I watched this I am still in LOVE with it and its concept. From the voicelines to the plot and music. I cannot wait for the full game to come out as I'm too hyped for this
That was absolutely amazing. My favorite thing that i dont think I've ever seen in a fangame is that sans uses a save point to stop himself from melting due to the determination he has. Undyne melted from it because she wasn't used to it. But Sans has watched it be used and finally used the power for himself and in doing so gave himself a loop hole.
At 11:30 sounds some notes from the disbelief papyrus song, and the attack is similar to the last attack of disbelief papyrus in phase 1, thats a really good detail, loved it

Personally, this animation is probably one of the best in UT community and the phase 3, is magnifique, the leitmofs of the Homestuck version and the background resembling Andonuts fight, I would have liked some detail towards the smash remix but that doesn't really affects it pretty much
i feel like phase 3a should be harder, and slightly more chaotic, you know, sans tries brute force, like the final arm-slamming attack of the original fight.

I swear, 11:21 slaps so hard, the dialogue preparing us for what is coming, to then show Gaster with his final blow, you can tell he's putting a lot of effort in it: Glitching the movement box and attacking with more glitches, using Gaster Blasters and finiahing with a stunning hand orange-blue kind attack. After that, we can see he remains smiling, yet really tired, while Papyrus does an amazing and super fast paced attack, with some help from Gaster, to end it with Sans, showing his despair after seeing how even that attack didn't kill us, all of this with the amazing song that bears the name of the project on its best part. Just amazing!

I liked how the final attack in Phase 3 had a background similar to Earthbound. That, and the Homestuck version of Megalovania, were really nice touches to enhance Sans' victory.

im glad that even if the animation were to be finished, the dialogue would be changed since based on this prototype i can see the dialogue was just a base and not "end result" since its kinda lacking, but still everyone one the team did a great job with trying to animate this hard! wish you luck with the game and engine, maybe in your offtime you could allow people to make their own projects with the engine if you make a handbook lol

something i haven't seen anyone comment on is the final moments of Panic Attack
As Sans throws your soul (literally) into what should be a guaranteed death, his expression changes from worried to seemingly... well not happy but relieved? idk, because at that moment he believes that he has won, that he is about to kill you, and there's no way you can avoid it...
but as your soul continues to stand there, refusing to shatter, as your hp drops further and further but never reaching 0, his expression loses it's confidence, and the despair returns...
and it's really sad to watch
he almost had his moment of triumph, he SHOULD OF had it, of finally freeing the world from this demon that cheats and murders for satisfaction, but you don't let him
frisk, chara, the player, whoever you believe to be in control, doesn't let sans have victory at the cost of their defeat, they don't die even when it means cheating every rule the world follows
it's a lot like the true pacifist ending of the actual game, where asriel attempts to kill you with an attack that can't miss, and your hp just goes into the decimals... but unlike that fight, it feels a lot less deserved
you're not fighting for anyone but you, there's no lives at risk but your own if you fail
So good job saster and crew, because literally changing 2 pixels was an amazing detail...
i mean, i definitely over-analysed this, but it's still a cool detail regardless
edit: something i realised, perhaps in undertale it is a universal rule that attacks must be dodgeable for them to kill, unless the receiver accepts their death, but idk, just something to note since in the canon storyline the only time your health goes into the decimals is against an undodgeable attack

100% agree. All undertale fangames seem to suffer from bad-grammar-itis, but this one did so considerably less. Hopefully the finished version will have superb writing, as some of this version did! Bravo to everyone on the team, this is easily the best fan made battle animation yet! Absolutely superb! Can't wait to see the final version with improved writing and such, I'm sure it'll be absolutely mind blowing. :)

I noticed a lot of hidden messages in the text boxes from Gaster throughout this animation. Mostly just Gaster spouting out random judgemental phrases, plus most of them are too faint to make much out of them, but it's still cool!
Everything about this is great! The music, the way you loop the music seemlessly(im really hoping this will be in the main game and itll be this seemless), The animations, Just...EVERYTHING! Its all so great!

There is ONE ending shown. The game hasn't released yet. Please wait with your hate until the game releases, since there were 2 other endings leaked. And, it is pretty much sure that sans is dead.
Also, that is your opinion, I am sure a lot of players, including me, are sure that we are the evil one and this ending is rather good than bad.

That was absolutely amazing. My favorite thing that i dont think I've ever seen in a fangame is that sans uses a save point to stop himself from melting due to the determination he has. Undyne melted from it because she wasn't used to it. But Sans has watched it be used and finally used the power for himself and in doing so gave himself a loop hole.

At 11:30 sounds some notes from the disbelief papyrus song, and the attack is similar to the last attack of disbelief papyrus in phase 1, thats a really good detail, loved it

Personally, this animation is probably one of the best in UT community and the phase 3, is magnifique, the leitmofs of the Homestuck version and the background resembling Andonuts fight, I would have liked some detail towards the smash remix but that doesn't really affects it pretty much
