Happy Pride! What do you think of the final image?

Excellent shot and video! In photography it definitely pays to be patient. It would really be cool to spend a week there shooting under different lighting and weather conditions. Time lapse with cloud movement would be interesting, too!

Thank you! Such a fun landscape to photograph and I totally agree spending a week here would be wonderful.

There is some internet confusion about the name of this one and the other spire that is half a mile to the southwest. One is "Long Dong Silver" and the other is "Angel of Death". GAIA GPS map names them as you did but I've seen the names reversed. To me the spire to the southwest, which is essentially round, would be more fitting of "Long Dong Silver" and the spire that you photographed, being thin and dramatically pointed, would be more fitting of "Angel of Death", and I've seen them named that way by other sources on the internet.

You know, I noticed this after I explored the area and released the video. Very fascinating indeed!

Was it hard to find? Can you drive right to it in a regular car?

It wasn't too difficult to find. I would highly recommend a 4x4 vehicle since the ground is pretty soft, otherwise you could possibly get stuck.

@@ChrisLimbrick did you park on the skyline road and if so how long was the hike to your point

@@markleddra1417 I did not park and hike in, I drove. However, when I was researching the area after my visit, I learned that the road is actually closed off and you're supposed to hike in. I'm not sure how long the hike would actually be... maybe 30ish minutes?

You should be able to find map location information on the internet. My GAIA GPS map actually has both spires on it with their names. The road to the spire to the southwest could possibly be navigated in a regular car then it is 1/2 mile or less hike to the more pointed spire to the northeast. The road may be rutted from rain and there are some dips you have to go through. To drive to the spire to the northeast is more difficult because you have to go down, through and up some large dips. An SUV with good approach and departure angles can do it, we drove it in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. Anything less I wouldn't try.

I'll be in the area in October, every year i come this way and never heard of this until now. I will have to see it and the Angel of Death tower as well
