  • Conventional wisdom places the Founder and CEO of a company on two different points on a linear model of growth: on one end, the founder has mainly entrepreneuria competencies and product-driven vision; on the other, the CEO has executive competencies and manages the vision of the company. Sukhinder Singh Cassidy, founder of Joyus, argues why that conventional model of company growth is wrong. To her, company growth resembles much more of a sine curve, wherein a Founder/CEO needs to amplify his or her competencies in a number of directions, figuring out "how to gracefully move from point to point." Cassidy spoke at the 2016 Tom Tom Founders Festival Founders Summit in Charlottesville, Virginia.
