Meredith Caudle This and the "No Springs!" short were my (REALLY LATE) introduction to MST3K... My girlfriend got me into the show only about five years ago. She'd never seen Star Wars before that, though, so I guess we're even!
You have that tick too? I guess it's comforting to see I'm not the only one. I live with a bunch of people who "peaked" in the 1908s, so this song is running through my head multiple times daily, because these people listen to a lot of cheesy 80s music and watch a lot of cheesy 80s movies. It was super funny the first few years...but now it kind of annoys me. Yet I still searched out this vid, because I find actually hearing the jingle stops it from becoming an earworm.
It's the 60's. Load up on some dope and sing along with hippies It's the 70's. Ration all your gas and headbang to Black Sabbath It's the 90's. Play SNES and chill out to Nirvava It's the 00's. That's a very obscure name for a decade. Most people just say the 2000s as opposed to the '00s. There's actually still a debate whether or not that's even a real decade, because the first year is in a different millennium than the other 9.
Walmart is currently selling two Trapper Keepers with original designs from the 80s. I bought one and posted a picture from Facebook with Mike's lyrics adding: It's the 80s Listen to your mix tape On your brand new Sony Walkman
+Phoenix The Biker Eagle The sequel was awful. But not good awful, like the original. It was aware of itself and was TRYING to be bad and capture that same hilarious terribleness. But it failed miserably. Also, it seems to simultaneously be a sequel and remake, because the characters seem to both be aware of but also not remember the first movie.
It's the 1880s, fight in frontier cattle wars and vote for Grover Cleveland! 🎶🎵🎵
Do you remember the 50s, when Emperor Claudius di-ied?

Ronald Reagan!? The actor!? Ha!
@@whenfatkillsfat803 Who's vice president, Jerry Lewis? 😅
Experts agree that the popularity of these two activities during 1980s was not unrelated.
I can't stop laughing whenever I hear this line. I think its just the way Mike SANG it that really makes me laugh.

I just sang this watching an 80s movie where they started dancing for no reason. My husband was like wtf 🤣
@@jsplicer9 No matter how hard I try, I can't replicate Mike's notes.
There, now you don't have to read Ready Player One. You're welcome
Or watch crap like St. Elmo's Fire!
This never ever gets old
How these guys avoid cracking up when doing the dub-overs is just genius.
lol i have been randomly singing this since i saw it over 20 years ago
+WLDFLD You and me both. Any time something unquestionably 80s pops up, I sing thing little jingle.

I watched this episode with my roommate in college and it became sort of an inside joke.
I love how the melody fit with his singing.
Ladies and Gentlemen: The entire plot of Wonder Woman 1984
Or how they wrote the script

"Oh, I'm having a stroke! Oh, nevermind..."
This is the only MST3K episode I've seen that was actually a struggle to sit through. The movie made me very mad.
This is easily one of the worst films to be riffed on MST3K. This is still a good riff though.
Stranger Things 2 in a nutshell.
this has been in my head well over 10 years
This song streams in a constant Loop inside my head
FAMILY GUY and ROBOT CHICKEN in a nutshell.
It's the international anthem of the 80s. If you were older you'd know it by heart. Kids these days...
I'm playing Holly in a stage production of the Wedding Singer. Every time I start singing Saturday Night in the City I think of this moment.

Hey! Don't scratch the Quarterflash!
@catuunes1 It's just to the song playing in the background. You can really tell at the end it matches the tune when he sang "its the eightieees"
The 80's: where nothing made sense, just like the 70s!
It's the naughties: do some Ecstacy and wear a lot of flag pins.

I think I finally understand...
You don't need to go back in time to buy and play Intellivision.
Still, it looked pretty fun. :) I'd go back in time just to purchase an Intellivision and a few of their games and...other stuff. XP
They're having an all girls night.
I would like to hear this song in The Goldbergs. Who's with me?
:)
The sequel to this movie was made in 2009, but it seems to think it's still the '80s. xP

+VonSnootingham in Hobgoblins they dress like it's the 80s and haven't seemed to age, yet Kyle is addicted to internet sex instead of phone sex
Now that I think about it it’s kind of contradictory what with the whole War on Drugs thing...yet again should breathe and just relax
Can someone just give me the title of thw song?
Are they singing to a tune of a real song because it sounds familiar
Hard to believe such biting satire exists even thirty years later, these days.
