And when Ruka's rap starts it gives me vibes of 90's Kpop hiphop, a little like SEO Taiji and Boys, and well YG is in the credits as a writer, maybe that's why. I'm excited to see what Drip will be like, I really like this album. And I like that there is a lot of R&B, soul and related sounds or genres, it is what suits them best and I hope they stick with that sound, along with hiphop, because in the end it is what the girls like the most, they always sing or they recommend songs from those genres and their voices fit perfectly with that and it was also the type of music they were trained with in YG, soul, r&b, hiphop, etc. YG is investing a lot in this first album and I think it is because in this project they already have a little clearer about their sound (or the types of sounds that best suit them, because YG said that babymonster was going to be a group that would try every type of genre) and what they want to do. It could also be because next year they plan to do a global tour so they won't have the time they have now.
It seems YG found the sound that fit Babymonster's beautiful vocals & rap, the instruments like strings together with percussion and brasser under the up-beat hip-hop or R&B genre. I really like the whole album so far and curious how would the title track DRIP be.
Kang Uk Jin is YG producer for many years..at recent he is one of the composer, arranger and lyricists alongside with Yoshi of Treasure for the song Stupid in Reboot album
강욱진 kang Uk Jin is a producer from YG, he has been working with them for a years, he started working with bigbang's daesung, then he focused mainly on winner and ikon, he has worked with them since their debut, he also worked with lee hi and I don't remember if at any point he participated in a bigbang or blackpink song. And Jared Lee is newer, he has only worked on some Treasure and Babymonster songs, mainly as a writer. And well, Ruka and Asa participated in the writing of two songs on this album, and Asa also participated as a composer and writer in Batter Up, she wrote her rap and composed the entire final part of that song. And from what YG has shown us in the pre-debut content, they are actually good, and also other members can write and compose, they just don't show it yet
