Books saved my life to this day...I love history more than anything, and have thousands of books at home, they take up every space in every room, but all are important friends...
@@sambucas.4645 So many times, I have idly picked up a random book when upset or facing a problem, only to have it fall open to a paragraph or sentence that illuminates my situation and gives me direction. It never seems to fail, plus knowing there were others who faced the same human problems all through human history, and no matter how enlightened, wrote about their exasperation and indecisions. It always calms me, knowing I am never alone, that others traveled the same rough paths and came through. It taught me that there are ALWAYS answers, always something that can be done, tried or changed. There is never just a dead end...
Old books especially. They have the smell thats ughh I'd make love to the smell not the book lol. A smell that just can't be remade. Idk the smell but I know the smell
Love the show. Totally blown away by the Minecraft Library!! and every time your videos come up in my que, I ask myself " When did Charlie Sheen start doing Top Fives?" Great voice you got there.
0:56 This library vending machine is in Korea not China. It is written in Korean Hangul. When you pass it to any East Asians, Koreans are able to read it out.
If Bakhtiyar Khilji had skipped Nalanda University during his 5th-century rampage, leaving its 9 million books unscorched, the university might have been a global academic titan today, boasting the oldest library on the planet, and perhaps even starring in this video as the ultimate 'did-you-know' fact.
i have said from a young age that my home would not be complete without a library. i would rather a library than a movie room or bar any day of the week!
Tougher to re-write history when it's written on paper. Current governments must really hate that. That's why there's such a push to make it all digital.
Luis really is a hero- I can't imagine how important those books are to geographically isolated children in this area. Not all heroes fly. Some ride donkeys 👏
I passionately request to the concerned authorities to devise such plans that open the doors of these treasure troves for common and disadvantaged people living in the remote and far flung parts of the world.
You can access the British Library mate, I used it a couple of times in the late 80s as a student for my research. Some parts you can not access such as the storage facility which is a temperature, moisture controled zero UV environment designed to preserve the papers and other materials printed upon but the vast majority of it's material has been copied to other formats such as microfiche when I used it and no doubt to digital formats now. BTW it is an otherworldly experience when you're in there.
BTW the BL has a programme to put all it's content into a digital repository, I suggest we make it a Global cooperation project to set up the space so we can record every book in the World both to preserve the texts inside forever and to allow them to be freely read, after all isn't that what a library's for?

Let's do a "go fund me" and see of the Greek or Egyptain Government would be willing to host a brand new Library of Alexandria! I am thinking: Modern building, make it high enough or long enough to house ALL of the scientific literature of the world! And have it as the home of a separate Science Internet where researchers can access unbiased "hard" info for their studies!! That would be so cool!!!!
If you like this idea, say "Aye" in the comments or upvote my idea. My idea is in part due to the Star Trek idea of "Memory Prime" that held all of the known knowledge of the known Galaxy.
Hi everyone, does your library have a cozy reading corner? Our public library is going to have one and a reading patio! My daughters are so thankful and excited for the new building that is being built where the old City Hall once stood. Our old library was fallen apart a bit. :(
Most of these buildings are mud flood, or what people call Tartarian buildings, reality is these buildings where made during the time of Atlantis and Lumeria
Hard to believe that you left off some of the most important things held in the Library of Congress, which has the largest collection anywhere in the world, it also has the most massive digital collection anywhere. The Library also contains the most recordings in one place. It has included recordings from many of the last remaining slaves as well as veterans of the Civil War.
Unfortunate that old knowledge and libraries of ancient Bharat (India) such as Nalanda, Takshashila, Kashmir etc were destroyed by marauders like Bakhtiya Khilji. We are still struggling to get that knowledge back.
I am afraid you missed the BnF also called Grande Bibliothèque. Located in Paris, it is huge (probably the world's largest. See here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biblioth%C3%A8que_nationale_de_France. It holds 14 million books, may digital books. It has a mechanized delivery system (digital warehouse)
I have been in a number of large University Libraries but the library that impressed me the most was the fairly small library at the Château de Chantilly en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ch%C3%A2teau_de_Chantilly#/media/File:Chantilly3_tango7174.jpg
Libraries are so calming and relaxing . I love the smell of books.
Books saved my life to this day...I love history more than anything, and have thousands of books at home, they take up every space in every room, but all are important friends...
Same here love the smell, quietness and thought of being surrounded by great minds who were able to transfer thought to paper just mind blowing

I know exactly what you mean! I go into a used bookstore, and feel instantly at home, as though I found my place....
The greatest library I ever knew was my grandfather. He knew everything. When he died at the age of 93…the library was lost.
Yes. Our elders are libraries in the flesh.
It was a dark and stormy night
One among the best comments I have ever read or I will ever read in my life ❤.
Respect and love to your grandfather 💙.
When you don’t want to read a history book, just go to your grandfather. He’ll probably have the answer.
Mine too was a walking encyclopedia. Unreal.
I love the unique ideas people came up with to share books. Thank you. This is awesome
I like your picture, wear your hair long? I find that attractive, please describe it?
I Love Libraries Thank God for Them! My children grew up at the libraries
Trinity College Library was clearly the inspiration for the Jedi Temple Archives in Star Wars
Love the show. Totally blown away by the Minecraft Library!! and every time your videos come up in my que, I ask myself " When did Charlie Sheen start doing Top Fives?" Great voice you got there.
It's been a while since I got the Charlie Sheen comparison. 😋 I guess I must be doing 'something' right. 😉
What an amazing video !! Well done , such stories from the giants to the people with giant hearts ! I will show this to every class I can.
As I look on my phone at this video, I would much prefer a book in my hands. The smell of old books, and the look of a library amaze me.

00:56 is Korean writing, not sure if I missed anything but it was said the library vending machines were in china☺

You do realize that number two was not in China, but South Korea. Korean script was all over the vid.

Hi, nice video with varied libraries, all of them excellent!

If Egypt won't host it, I know Greece will. I am thinking Athens would be the perfect site for it.

The Royal Portuguese Reading Room would have been a good addition.
READING BOOKS IS BEST WAY TO LIVE 1000 LIVES IN ONE LIFE .
Who else was watching that book vending machine going "Nooooo don't damage the book!"
Most impressive of all is a phone. Has everything there and more

The Library of Alexandria was not at all as described in this video..... look it up. Though real, it's size and scope is a myth
