A hydrostatic tank test is to measure expansion of the tank and determine if it's becoming dangerous. It's not an overpressure leak test. At least measure your mid tank diameter and you don't need very much pressure to see what's going on if you can find an expansion table online. A result when the tank is new is a good idea.

A central band of brittle paint or something that functions as an expansion recording equivalent may one day serve as an indicator to show when our tanks are getting into dangerous territory. I wasn’t checking for leaks. It only was a structural strength test to verify it was still strong enough to not burst.
