I believe irrespective of what the brothers did right or wrong, Jacob was the chosen one from the beginning. Every single person that was chosen by God to fulfill His will was flawed in someway, some adulterers, womanizers ,murders etc.

Next, was the providence on the tribe and nation, which was Abraham's, Isaac's and Jacob's descendants, who became the Israelites. That would eventually be fulfilled where God could send the messiah. Edomite yes and Edom means Red. Esau was a red head and very hairy man. That’s how he got the name Edom. Then became Edomite.
Where does it state Jacob was black nowhere he was a Mesopotamian not a black man common sense
