    I love the aft verandas. We didn’t notice any of the negatives mentioned. I found it very quiet and peaceful.

    My family and I have had both types of verandas and we think the aft Veranda is the way to go. The cons that you mentioned aren't that bad. And we also travel with other families, the large Veranda is great for when people stop by. Love your videos, keep up the good work. I have gotten a lot of information about Disney cruises from you. Thanks.

    We had one right above Dumbo on the Fantasy. Deck was totally awesome, but we did have engine noise and a few fumes. Not a room I will get again. I will say that it was so nice sitting out there at night seeing the ship trail.

    • @DisneyCruisers
      @DisneyCruisers  5 років тому +2

      Oh yes, being able to see the ships trail at night without having to go up to the top deck, and without all the crazy wind... that does seem very nice!

    We are on the dream in 26 days and have an aft extended veranda, we chose deck 9 based on your previous video where you talked about engine noise on the lower decks and chair noise if you’re under the restaurants/pool decks. My daughter had a cookie taken from her by a seagull in San Francisco when she was 6 and still hates them at 15. Hopefully she won’t have flashbacks 😂. I am looking forward to relaxing on my veranda and few pretty sure that lookieloos will avert their eyes if they see me shirtless and having a coffee. That is how I got the neighbors to fund the drapes in our house when we moved in. Thanks for another great vid, I look forward to seeing how our plans play out, and if we’re not completely pleased I am committed to going back as many times as it takes to get it right!

    • @DisneyCruisers
      @DisneyCruisers  5 років тому +3

      This comment made me laugh out loud for real. Not the part about the seagull though, because you know, I feel for her. Deck ten you can hear cabana chairs moving above you so that was a good decision on moving. Also, your commitment is commendable... if we stop going on cruises then DCL would go out of business. So for all of our sakes, I hope something on your trip is horrible that way you have to go again 😃 I hope my next one is horrible too. 😉

      Disney Cruisers I’m thinking of setting up a go fund me page for a guaranteed inside cabin on my future cruises for those who object to my coffee time. But only because I’m a civic minded individual.

    We typically pick aft rooms and love them. Our first cruise we were deck 10 aft and had some noise from chairs being moved at Cabanas in the early morning. Also some vibration when docking in port. Not deal breakers for us. Love the large verandas and the often bigger room.

  • @lisawheely
    @lisawheely 5 років тому +3

    We had a large Veranda room as it was wheelchair accessible. Didn’t have any of the negatives at all. Didn’t see a bird or hear others or see other guests looking over us. Lol it was the best! Wonderful views off the back of the ship and saw dolphins jumping behind us as we left castaway cay. So peaceful.

    We have done the aft veranda room 3 times on the Disney Dream Deck 5 right above Sorcerer Mickey . We love it. Also love Deck 5 because it's a quick trip to the kids club. We have never had a problem with birds, sometimes you hear some noise from the club underneath you, but the last time we went they had the "Silent Noise Club" with the head phones and didn't hear a thing. Love being able to just stretch out and look at the ocean.

    Do you know if you feel the engines running on them? We are trying to plan a Disney Cruise in March of 2021 (first for my kids and husband - and celebrating my husband and my 10 year anniversary). I would love a bigger Verandah because we could all sit out there...but I was afraid of the sounds of the engine or even feeling the motion more. Loved your Vlog on seasickness and kids. I'm ready to order my seabands and preventative meds as soon as we book!

    • @DisneyCruisers
      @DisneyCruisers  5 років тому

      Yes, you can feel movement and some rumbling. To be honest, there is not that much time where everyone would be just sitting out there. Too many fun things to do. Also, there are plenty of places all around the top decks where yall could gather.

    The bird story lol!
    A while back when I was an adult I had this massive bird land next to me, Iv never screamed so loud or run so fast.
    I was telling my parents about it and they thought I made it up.
    Thankfully this bird was spited by someone more in the know and made it into the paper, it was a giant golden eagle, I swear this thing was the size of me and wanted to eat me. I don’t care for birds either.
    That aside on my cruise in 58 days... 58 days!! We are the last room before the back of the boat, hopefully it’s more private, but it’s what we could afford cause the cruise was already insanely expensive... we will have fun none the less but I’ll be more watchful for birds.

    We have booked an aft extended verandah on deck 9 for October 2020. We have heard so many mixed reviews, but i will take my chances. U won’t know if u don’t try. I am so excited to see room 9674.

  • @ITHVideoNY

    We had Fantasy aft deck 9. Loved the bigger space (with napping todddler nice to still enjoy a lounge chair). One negative not mentioned is soot from chimney that settles on floor every night. Stepping out in morning the floor is gritty, though cleaned off when we were at breakfast by stateroom host. Engine quite noticeable, particularly when docking. Would still do it again for the space. (Didn’t think the neighbors were that obvious unless right up against the rail)

    In the past we always got a aft extended verandah room. On the Dream and Fantasy the cabin we get is 8084 right on the corner on the port side.. This is an ADA cabin as my wife is in a wheelchair. The cabin is large and the Veranda is at least 30 feet long, our biggest complaint is the white wall. The steel white wall rises up to railing height.On our next cruise we are trying a regular Verandah cabin right across from the aft elevators, She can walk a few steps as long as she holding on to something and I can fold the wheelchair at the door. If this does not work out we will go back to the ADA cabins in the future

    We had a large veranda, room 5050 on the Disney Dream and we loved it! It was a little weird when I looked up and saw people looking but, we just would sit a little further back. We never had any problems 😍😁😉 it was a guaranteed room, sounds like we got pretty lucky! Oh we COULD see people's feet and butts in the hot tubs, I think it was from the adult area where the hot tubs are off the edge at midship and have the plexiglass bottoms on them. Lol

    • @DisneyCruisers
      @DisneyCruisers  5 років тому +1

      Hot tub butts.. that’s so funny! I’m sure the people who owned those butts had no idea you could see them lol. I love the Dream so much! Just seeing it written in your comment made me smile lol.

    Going on our first cruise in January. We decided on a verandah, but paid a little extra for the GTY. All I know so far is its section 05E on the aft... We had no clue what we were doing so I figured paying a bit extra may benefit us in some way eventhough when we booked we could have picked darn near any room we wanted.

    Recently, my family and I went to Daytona for one of my brother's baseball tournaments. Our hotel was on the beach and had a nice pool/raised deck area but boy were the birds terrible. Employees were out there beating them off with brooms and spray bottles. They took food right from people's hands like it was nothing. Talk about nightmare central.

    Aren't those aft cabins with the very large balconies also the *accessible cabins* with accommodations for disabled people...?
    Are able bodied people trying to book those cabins?

    • @mjdear5218

      Karen Labrie not all of them are accessible. Sometimes they are filled with able bodied guests when done asa QTY room and not booked by someone who needs the accessibility features.

    We booked an extended veranda for a 7 nights Merrytime Cruise at thanksgiving. Your cons are not a concern for us. Noise & “people can see” you at the public lounge chairs too. I don’t have bird phobias. The views from the balcony at port will hopefully be amazing.

    • @DisneyCruisers
      @DisneyCruisers  5 років тому +3

      Hi Lillian! I love the decor on Merrytime cruises! I could sit in the atrium all day long and be content 😍 Yes people can see you on the chairs up on deck, but I just wanted to throw it out there for those who don’t realize that people can see you on your balcony... in case they want to join the verandah club, lay out topless, or pick their nose.. all of which I have seen before lol😬 🤦‍♀️

    • @Grandma.Lilly.
