First let me say I love all your videos. 2nd I live to fish, lol. I live on the Gulf Coast of Florida and surf fish from Destin to Navarre to Pensacola and Ft. Pickens. The only thing wrong I can say about you video is the wire leaders. Yes, wire is great for shark fishing, but when fishing for pompano, whiting, black drum , and red drum from the surf… always use floro or mono. These fish have big eyes and see the wire and shy away from it, yes you can still catch fish with wire, but the water down here is so clear that we prefer to tie our own rigs with mono or floro. We use a pompano rig, or a panhandle rig. You can buy them on line, or tie them yourself. A favorite one down here is tied by my friend Salty McCorry, so you can look his up and see what I’m talking about. If you come down this way give me a shout, we’ll go get on some fish, especially if it’s during the pompano spring run. I’m in a pompano fall tournament this weekend, so I’ll be busy tying my own rigs this week. As we say down here, tight lines brother.
I fish the surf/ Beaufort inlet on occasion. As mentioned before, I hate a tackle bag in the sand. And a box is just not the ticket. Come on with the bucket/ tackle box/ seat hack. Looking for some inspiration! Love the channel!
I live here at the beach but I'm originally from where you live at. I make my own stuff and next time your down this way we need to go out on the water in the boat and do some fishing
If you slide a little hate shrink electrical tubing on the cable before you cramp your gills on and then slide the heat strength over your crimp section the little pointed end of the cable won't stab you in the hand
Love that muskie have teeth ( nice walleye picture ) ....... I use the downrigger wire with glow beads and a flasher spoon inline with my release clip after my downrigging ball when I salmon fish, it sure beats fighting a flasher on the mainline and a fish on the lure all at the same time. Saves a lot of headaches while trolling....soft glow beads from dollar store work great for walleye and catfishing also...... Glowing plastic rocks from dollar store, drilled out at one end and place a large quick change through it with a three way connector and a little live bait works great in slow water at night.its heavy enough to sink a worm , yet light enough to allow a minnow to still swim around with it near the bottom..,.👍 👍 🇨🇦 Please don't fire the little guy , he's a hoot and a half , jobs are already hard to get anyone to work at nowadays.....😀
That was great I loved it thanks for sharing I have to go back to the cancer center Wednesday to make sure it hasn't traveled and that it's dead cells now the children love the lures as much as I do lol
Fishin N Stuff hey at 4:00 you show an Australian Alvey reel on the beach rod Alvey has been doing it really tough over the past couple of years and barely staying afloat, they do have USA dealers, would be cool if you could put the word out as they've been close to shutting their doors for a while now, it'd be sad to see another old timer fall 🙁
The balloon tires on a beach cart, are a must have in the soft sand. They are not cheap to buy, but are available. And that cart liner bag is also nice to have. And those liners can be caught on sale ,a few times a year.
Great video Keith. Great hacks again. One quick suggestion buddy, when you put your cable through your nicropess sleeve, pull the tag end (the short end) back just barely at the edge of your sleeve then crimp. It'll keep the short end from ever fraying and sticking yourself. Not a big deal but might save a poke, experience of making cables for many years. Hope yall faired OK from the hurricane. Stay safe, keep the videos coming brother. God bless you and your family and have a blessed day my friend.
For the steel leader - I recommend TyGer brand which you can actually tie like string. As far as shark fishing from the beach - if you are going to Florida, they have an on-line, free shark surf license video test that you have to pass to get the shark fishing beach license. The video is short and runs through the sharks you can and cannot keep and the correct rigging license. If you have never had shark - it is wonderful. No bones, just filet it, throw on a grill and bathe it in lemon juice and butter. It has a very light taste itself. Falls apart nice flaky white. One thing though - when caught, immediately gut and put on ice.
And cut the tail and all the fins off to bleed it. Or you can end up sick. Some people say you should freeze it first too. But I think if you bleed it correctly it makes no difference.
Also some peolpe for sand flea rakes just go to dollar tree and buy one of those metal office storage box that have small enough holes that sand seeps out but not the fleas.
Great video, when making steel cable leaders match the crimp to the cable size. Use two crimps and the tag end should only be about 1/8 of an inch out of the last crimp also pull the hook down you only want a small loop at the eye of the hook and the cable. You crimper has numbers on the end, match the crimp size to the corresponding number on the crimper and crimp the sleeves.
I surf fish all the time. The one thing I hate is buying surf weights. This idea is great when you need a surf weight and don't have any. Thank you Brother. I totally enjoy the content.
@@FishinNStuff surf fishing is my passion. You never know what you are going to catch. Replace your store bought cart tires with bigger the HF tires. You don't need to crimper to make steel leaders. You can simply wrap the wire. There is a tool to make it easier but pliers will do in a pinch. Lol
I do recommend to use the "Sputnic" style, beach fishing weights. The wire arms, will fold back and break away in the sand. So, getting hung up is almost impossible. Then you reset the arms and recast! Again, you could make them, but they are cheap and readily available at a saltwater tackle store. The main problem with these weights, is they are bulky, and pokie! I keep mine in a small plastic box or a container with a lid (like a big Sour Cream container!).
I've a bank fishing hack 😅 Pole rod holder - we know it's a pain to hammer the pole rod sometimes, grab a decent drill with a drill nit, drill a hole in the ground, lay your rod down then finish staking in. Stole it fair and square from my brother 😂 enjoy!! And happy weekend!! No catch at lake meade yet

Was going great until you tie strapped the wire, I was laughing that you would break out the tie straps and you did!! Wife was "what you laughing at?" Me: He's using tie straps, I told you he would.
Keep up the great and entertaining work. This is the first video you have done where I knew pretty much all of it before you said it. I used one of your "tackle buckets" last week when I caught a nurse shark. The bucket works well and has held up. I've caught three sharks and never used a steel leader. 99% of what you catch from the beach in Florida is less than 20" and doesn't have teeth.
In a pinch, if you are out of the wire leader crimps (or just don't wanna buy any), if you are using coated leader, just twist the leader around itself a few times and heat with a lighter. It'll fuse together and it's pretty darn secure.
