Here's a tip, we save the juice from vegetables and pour it on the dog's food (love it) many others go down the toilet. Grease in a container in freezer then thrown out when full. Our RV came with a garbage can in it. Our RV is a lot bigger. Have a dishwasher, wife didn't want it but I insisted, but use paper plates a lot. Our outdoor grill is electric with a griddle top too.
Here is my share: Use a blender to compost scraps and pour it over plants and tree trunks; Don't use plastic bags because they contain chemicals and are not good for the environment. Use paper bags instead. Large trash bags are available that are biodegradable. Always use reusable shopping bags. Ditch plastic bags for wax paper for wrapping and storage, including freezer storage. Once an item is wrapped, store it in a small paper bag which can be used again for any purpose. Use covered pyrex glass containers to freeze items. These can also be used as dishes since they come with compartments. They can be used to store food, as well. Use metal ice trays, bpa free. Use ice trays to freeze lemon or lime or orange juice. Boil citrus peels before disposing them and use the water as a final rinse on the kitchen sink or in the bathroom for a squeekee clean smell. Mount water bottle containers in the kitchen and bathroom and fill spray bottles with bleach or vinegar or oil. The oil bottle can be for quick kitchen use or for skin. Scour thrift shops for clever containers and gadgets.
We’ve mainly boon docked. I cook the same at home as with camping. I’m looking into an Omnia oven so I can bake on the stovetop. Just haven’t pulled the trigger on that. Also have a trash can that goes over a cabinet door. After about 3 months in the camper, you know what you don’t use and what you need.
Thank you for the tip about pouring juices down the drain. I hadn't thought of that. I also liked what you said about having separate boondocking recipes.
You're welcome! Boondocking was the biggest learning experience for us. Before we went full time, we would always pick places that had electric and water hookups, so we never had to conserve much. :)
Loved the tip about the liquids into the disposable bag. We do not have an oven but bought the Ninja Flip air fryer with the sear plate feature. More expensive but so worth it. We can cook a whole meal in the oven and clean up is a breeze. It sits on the stove while traveling and flips out of the way when we stop. We will start using it outdoors to keep the smell down (I cook a lot) in the RV. Just need to get a good extension cord. I cooked Salmon in it 2 weeks ago and the rv smelled so we hope it works well outside.
I’ve been living in my 30 foot trailer by myself for going on two years. The grocery bag in the handle as a garbage bag made me laugh out loud. Been doing that since I moved in.
we have an Alfa 312, our garbage can in under the counter between the stove and sink and accessed from outside, you just drop stuff thu a hole in the counter, also the piece comes up so you can clean it if you get stuff on underside, but the outside door, one of my favorites
For your trash situation we use a normal sized garbage can and just put it out side on you site.next to your door and then you can just open your food and just through out your trash and then you have more trash space
@@LiveYourSomedayNow outside garbage could attract night critters, raccoon can open even tied down metal trash cans. A 5 gal bucket from Home Depost with a seal lid that screws down is smaller and no odors exposed.
I am thankful that you didn’t spend any time “selling me” on any gadgets, brands or apps. Straight up Superwoman RV cooking, keeping it real. I’ll definitely pour liquids into disposable bottles, so I’ll def pack my funnel!!! Thank you all!
Regarding the Cuisinart and blender, I went the route of a stick blender that came with a couple of sizes of food processors that the stick blender will drive. One of them came with a shredding and slicing blade.
Love these tips, thanks. Garbage is a pain! Some put it in the shower and laundry, too, but we found it a pain to find another spot so we could shower! But we only have a 25' and do not full time yet...working our way to that.
Get on Amazon...we full time in fifthwheel perm parked and travel in 30 ft Class C The garbage bag holders for RVs or any kitchen work AWESOME for “food garbage” while prepping. I can not figure out how to post a pic on here but check LUNIES HANGING TRASH CONTAINER. We use Walmart bags in ours
Good ideas. We recently bought a combination blender/customary/bullet type appliance that we only have to have one base. So that saves a little bit of room. 😊
Thanks for the great video. We have a 28' Class A w/ connection/microwave and propane stove. We are in the process of replacing 2 of the burners with an induction cooktop. We also have pressure cookers (electric and stovetop). We recently purchased a 8-in-1 Bella grill-waffle iron-panini press appliance on sale for $25. Both elements fold out flat to make a grill with 4 different plates. Only my wife drinks coffee so we have an Elite 4-in-one (4 cup coffee maker, toaster oven, hot plate) which I refer to as the Adult Easy Bake Oven. We lived fulltime for 9 months when we moved and were looking for a house. We have made cakes, pies, pizza, Turkey Tetrazini, ribs, soups, burgers and even Danish Meatballs. Clean up was interesting because the wok didn't fit in the sink. Please continue your videos.
Those sound like great kitchen tools/appliances to have while full time traveling! It sounds like you have certainly made a great variety of meals in it 😃Thanks for watching, we hope to see you on our future videos
I honestly don’t know. 😁. I ordered them about 3 years ago because they were just the right size to fit in our cabinet. I will have to check and see if anything is stamped on them.
Like Noconz0727 MC , I'd love to see some of those recipes! I'm sure you guys got some awesome ones! One of my new year resolution is to meal plan more and eat out less, it'll definitely help. :) Hope you guys had a good week and will have a great weekend! :D
We pour the whole can with the juice into the pot. A lot of flavor is in that juice. :)

Hi Roy, thanks for the great tips! The dogs will love the idea of adding flavoring to their food😁
Just out of curiousity Roy, why wait until a container is full when you could get rid of the grease initially? Isn’t that taking up a lot of space?

Hi guys, it is fun to see you. Rick and Suzanne Smethers
Thank you! We recently got a handicap toy hauler for our quad son. Planning a long trip with him and 12 children. Great tips!

Happy cooking. 😊

I love that thing. I have the Chefman , it is awesome.

We still haven’t figured out a really good plan for the garbage after 3 years. 😊. 😂
We’re glad the tips were helpful.
Wow, I am impressed! 5 of you and, it looks like you have figured it out!

We use Walmart bags in ours
Thanks for the great suggestion, that's exactly what we need! Amazon here I come :)
Immersion blender could replace big stand blenders & we use compact chopper.
Good ideas. We recently bought a combination blender/customary/bullet type appliance that we only have to have one base. So that saves a little bit of room. 😊
I use a thermal pot, it's awesome
That's great. It seems everyone has their own 'go to' appliances that they like to use RVing.

Put a small trash can under the sink or in another under cabinet
Unfortunately we don’t have any under cabinet space. 😞
Thanks
Are those Lock & Lock containers? I swear by them for the RV.
I honestly don’t know. 😁. I ordered them about 3 years ago because they were just the right size to fit in our cabinet.

Very informative Diane! Thanks!
😀. Thank you

I’m going to start putting the recipes together to share. Maybe on UA-cam or our blog 👍🏻
can you rate your cooking appliances based on power consumption?
Strangely, I have never paid much attention to that.
can you list you boondocking recipes?
good idea.
I will try to get a few together.
You made a cool video :-)
Thanks
I would avoid any kind of aluminum cookware, you can get poisoning from it.
Thank you for the tip
Rv tour
We’re doing some renovations and will do a tour in the next few months
Could you make those recipes available?
That’s a good question idea. I’ll have to work on that
