He can do everything. He can guard, he can block, he can steal, he can dribble, he can assist, he can shoot, he can fade, he can dunk. Never seen in a 7,4" guy. And he is just begining to believe in himself. Hats off for the Spurs staff, that convinced him that this first year is only the adaption to NBA. They are not hurry for the rings. They are do taking care of the kid, because they know he will dominate the game for several years.
@willem2099 yes and his team will eventually reach that point in time is what im saying, tanking with wemby to get another top 3 pick and build around that is very possible
The Spurs sportscasters have started using a term for when he just stuffs the opposing player's shot: "dad block", as in when your dad would just smack the ball out of your hands and say "No".
The fact that he can do whatever he wants (at least on offense) is kind of expected, but the fact that he already has the confidence to do it is pretty crazy
Sometimes it looks like he only jumps for these alley-oops, blocks or lay-ups to feel more like a regular basketball player and not because he really have to jump. His height combined with his agility and basketball IQ is SCARY.
When it comes to wemby, I would consider him a 3 way threatening player. With his elusiveness to get to the rim for blocks and alleyoops, and his skills to get open. If he plays at a high level, he should be the mvp and defensive player of the year.
the haters from the beginning have been forced to hold a 'tail between their legs' summit...but they're all too embarrassed to attend.....i loved watching this phenom since i heard about him last spring, and sensed a lot of animosity derived from his 1/2 white blood; that REALLY pisses off the 'purists'.....
It is so weird watching him play bro! I can’t count how many times I’ve said, was that a dunk? The angles just look crazy. Like how are you behind the backboard and dunking? Makes no sense!
People get way too caught up in the perimeter stuff. It looks cool and all but every time he dances 25 feet away -- every dribble that isn't downhill -- is a win for the defense. One because he's so good around the basket so shooting outside 10 is basically throwing away points and two because of how dangerous he is without the ball as a screener. Its like Steph. As good as Steph is on ball, its off ball that makes him so great because it makes the other four guys better. Wemby can discombobulate defenses in the same way. Once Vic realizes he just needs to make the game easy, it's wrap.
4-2-24 vs nuggets, had it gone to overtime, he would have easily had triple double and likely a quadruple double. Someday, the first Quintuple Double? Once he has a stronger team around him, everyone else can fight for 2nd place... 😁
I was Jokic is last prototype but this kid Wemby scares me he have same amount of luck like Jokic they pull some shots that is crazy and alien have this arms and legs of course can block anyone when he double size like Wemby need to dunk he just put ball in hoop 😂
He's too unselfish to average 30. He's a lot like Jokic in that way. He's not gonna take 22 shots like Luka or Embiid Probably closer to 22-26 and 6-7 assists. But I think he has a good chance of challenging for first team All-NBA.
@@michaelahurtlast 30 games he is averaging 22.4, 11, 4.4, and he still not playing full minutes, I don't think his assists will increase a lot but his scoring will be over 25 next year for sure
@@mariohenrique9537 Assists increase for almost every player over time. The more you play the better you get at understanding defenses and where help is coming from. He'll likely be around 23-25. It's just hard to get to 25 on 17 shots. The math just doesn't work. You need to have almost ideal shot distribution like AD to do it and think it's gonna be a few years yet before he reins himself in and/or the percentages catch up to the shot selection. He played without Vassell, Sochan, Johnson. Everyone else in the team but Jones was g-league bencher level but Spurs only lose by 3. A nice example of tanking. If they win more, they will lose their top pick. Pop is afraid of Portland.
I don't know why everyone is riding this guy ......... I mean we this everyday from bolbol. Shaq is so right about this guy he is not as impressive as everyone is saying
Name one G league player to average 20-10 playing less than 30 minutes. Matter of fact name the last time a rookie led the league in blocks. You wear the hate well 😂
And Shaq and Giannis are just big and athletic too. It's basketball. That's kind of important. He's already the best defender and rim roller in the NBA. He's basically a 7'4" Anthony Davis who plays hard all the time and is a better passer. The only thing holding him back is shot selection and his teammates.

That’s some 🐐 stuff
i don’t see any other outcome other than wemby himself being the momentum in any game, unless the rules change this will be wembys game
Straight up Alien, cant wait to see him develop over the next years to yield out as many rings as possible
Doesnt have the team to get past the othger Euro boys.
@willem2099 its his first year in the NBA, and ill always trust Pops process, this is only the beginning

Wemby is way ahead of his time, sort of like Magic being a 6'9" point guard.
Exactly!
2nd half of the season he's been top 5 in the NBA. As a rookie.
i wouldnt say top 5 but hes destroying the league rn
That will be the greatest ball player in history when all said and done.
assuming he stays healthy, and i pray to god he does
Well timed narrating syncing with the video clips sir.
Great video and analysis! Lots of clips I hadn't seen before (and I've watched quite a bit of Wemby footage)
His Basketball IQ is just amazing, even if you have the height you need to do the proper positioning to be more effective blocking shots.
Its nice to be a Spurs fan again😩
3min in and loved this video, very well put together so far
His highlights reel is amazing already. 3pt shooting too for a rookie. Espn is gonna love this guy.
The “Wemby Dungeon” is crazy
Nice work on this vid.
Thank you, I definitely appreciate it!
I finally figured out the way to stop him:
1- Pass the ball.
2- Don't shoot.
3- Ask your coach to bench you.
When it comes to wemby, I would consider him a 3 way threatening player. With his elusiveness to get to the rim for blocks and alleyoops, and his skills to get open. If he plays at a high level, he should be the mvp and defensive player of the year.

He sure did… filthy 🤧

He is a complete player not even 20 yet. Spurs need to add a couple of Star names alongside him before he gets disgruntled

The greatest phenom since Wilt Chamberlain and Kareem Abdul Jabbar.
