NASCAR's Recent Driver Injury Crashes

As all of you know, NASCAR is a dangerous sport. Over the last 20 years though, it’s increasingly become one of the safest motorsports in the world. Now, It’s a bit of a surprise when drivers get hurt during a NASCAR race. So today we’re going to look back at some of the incidents that made NASCAR drivers miss races in the last decade or so. No one was seriously injured in this video.

The Austin Wayne Self and Brad Smith crash at Talladega takes the cake. He was out for 5 months, though we ALL thought he was pretty much dead. Same with the Eric Mcclure(RIP) crash at the same track.

If you ever do a part 2, I’d add the Therialt (that isn’t how you spell it, but it’s close) crash at Las Vegas. Im not sure if he missed the next race, but he literally broke the HANS device in the truck from the hit

The fact that my favorite driver of 16 years had to retire to to a crash in a car that was less safe than the previous generation leaves a black mark for me. I love nascar but it’ll never be the same

3:09 why is it taking so long for Kurt to be medically cleared but Alex has had 2 injuries, one in Nascar, the other in sprint cars, and he’s been medically cleared within weeks, or even Cody within 1 week

Denny having that injury and everyone knowing it is the biggest issue I have with what Chase Elliott did. Look at Denny's onboard. It is downright scary. Knowing he has a history of neck and back issues. It could've been a lot worse
