who here actually knows what a wig is be honest
Mango Street something I might need in a few years because I‘m slowly going bald 😝
It's Cousin IT from Adams family...😋
Isn’t that what Trump wears
Mango Street it's actually a name of a 11 legged animal found natively in Tibet. And it is mostly used as a cooking utensil or food depending on it's 11th leg. 😂😂
were you using a wig cap?
Ok but how did y'all entertain me, inspire me and educate me so much in less than 5 minutes??!
thats why you should signup to skillshare. sha' bloimps!
+1
This used to be my biggest drawback as a photographer. I'd rely solely on a cool location and if I didn't know of a good spot, I just wouldn't go out and shoot. I've learned to be better about that, and realized I can create photos just about anywhere (well, I'm still getting there)
To the windowwwwww to the wall to the wall... till the pics go down in the basement... all them angles taken
this feels... uncomfortable 😅
Planning on doing another collaboration with Jessica Kobeissi and/or Sorelle Amore? 👀 I love it when you guys work together!
we just missed jessica! she was in LA while we were right outside Detroit whoops 😬
Ahw damn 😭
The images at the desk 😍. Awesome video guys!
The sad emotions and low light makes the photos alive and realistic for this basement photoshoot😀great job😄 also the small window light is the main ingredient😃
now THAT’S a FRESH take.
Omg, Mango Street post a video
Pore cleaned
Exam passed
Wig Flew
All my problems are gone
I'm Blessed
A true artist can make anything look good. 👌
You guys can turn plain ordinary objects into art pieces. This is so creative!
Easily my favourite people on UA-cam, love you guys
Using the basics of what you have around you is exactly why I started my own photography channel. Launched my first video on Saturday! Thanks for the great content and tips!
loving this moody vibe! i don’t have a basement but i never thought about using the garage. maybe it’s about time we cleared some stuff out of there first though...
You guys are wonderful. I'm teaching a portrait class this weekend and you guys are providing a ton of great tips for me to teach
thank uuuuu
One of the best pictures I‘ve seen from you. I also realized that when shooting portraits you can utilize a lot of „ugly“ locations for great photos.
It doesn’t work too well for landscape shots though, for those you need a beautiful landscape 😁
WuschelofDespair ...Always when anyone calls these kind of locations ugly I move my head from left to right! NO! They are not ugly 😁😁😁😊 (in the eyes of a photographer -as you said: not for landscape of course) 💙
I just took a self portrait like this last night! There was a light pouring in through a window and it looked super moody. I felt compelled to play around. I'll post it soon with the hashtag to show you. Anywho, great video as per usual. Thanks for being awesome.
Music selection on point. Other than the gems you dropped. Watched this one 3 times already. First one was while driving.
do not watch youtube while you drive. you might hit a bump and spill your wig.
Love getting dark and moody with a photoshoot! This was a solid vid my friends :) Give us more abstract and moody photo challenges haha!
I don’t understand how you guys are so perfect
3:06 is me when I'm studying or trying to do an assignment
the basement shots are soooo cool
you guys are easily some of my absolute favorite photographers so when you mentioned you were also from indy a few videos back i thought that was so cool! love the videos by the way!! :)
This channel deserves millions of subscribers!!!
but what if my sister won't pose
put your brother in a wig
Mango Street how did you know I had both of those supplies on hand
Then you subscribe to Sorelle Amore and combine what you've learned from Sorelle and Mango Street to create incredible content
YAAASSSSS the ones with the window as the backlight were my favorites. Literally screamed YESSSS SO GOOD and hit my knee out of excitement
I just found your channel and you guys are some of the most helpful people ever! Great job! LOVE IT
Love your channel because you destigmatize the assumption that photography (or youtube) can only happen in exotic places.
Also,
Witty comment, wig, witty comment
Can you share your camera settings for these low light photos? There’s like no grain at all. I love them!
something like 1/160th shutter, f/1.4, ISO 500.
That is a very nice basement haha, the lighting was so beautiful hitting the model.
I love Parks and Rec, thank you. (Also the video is really really great too).
These are so sick. Moody pics are choice!! Much love ju mangos
Amazing work as usual ❤️
Wow I needed this I’m Doing a photo shoot and I live in an ugly city in Arizona and this gave me inspiration!!! Love you guys
y’all are so talented
Loved the collaboration you guys did with Peter McKinnon it was amazing
Loved how moody the shots turned out! I'm trying this!
You guys are awesome 👌 you entertain while educating...! Why can't my teachers be more like you two 😫
This filmography is poetic
Heard you’re only answering comments about wigs !
Let me just say my wig is SNATCHED 😂 y’all kill it every time

As always, the photos look amazing and the video is dope. But I just need Rachel to know her bangs look banging in this vid. K thanks.
thank you, it’s a wig
Big fan from the Philippines! Thank you for sharing your ideas. You're great!
Rewatched this video just to listen to the music. Loved the photos too. and the wig. kbye
These images are fire!
What focal lengths have you used? Would be very helpful if you write it together with the pictures you’re showing.
Anyway great and inspiring as usual!
Super creative guys! Well executed!
OMG the music ❤️
Great video as usual. Can't wait to see what kind of colab you're gonna do with Peter Mckinnon.
Oh, the collab was just us drinking coffee together. Thought that was what everyone wanted!
Love you guysss 💕💕
Oh man the feels in the picture!! This is what I crave for everyday.
truly inspiring. you guys come up with awesome content time and time again, it's amazing.
i feel like rachel should teach a skillshare class on snatching wigs
great video!
also, is this your basement/garage? rad motorcycles 🏍
you guys killin it as always!
Hebron!!! I’m from Crown Point, IN!!! Great video. Really excited to try this out with my new camera.
Anthony Pagorek, you’ll probably like this video: ua-cam.com/video/7AkA3nWMsj8/v-deo.html
Mango Street thanks for sharing this. And it’s cool when you know these actual places. Thanks for reaching out. Loved the short.
Wow, first time I actually considered getting a 35 mm for portraits. Great job! Amazing emotion in those pictures
I love your videos so mcuh. They always inspire me to pursuit my passion for photography and what's the most important thing, improve my awful photos. Now instead of a 0.1, they are a 0.5, let's be positive, now they're a 1. Well, I'll shut up now. Just wanted to say thank you for your beautiful videos. Have a beautiful day everyone :)
Living in Phoenix, I feel you on having to get creative. I've never been in a proper studio, never used any kind of dedicated lighting, and have a low end camera and lenses. But I make it work.
I'm obsessed. Video is dope. Tips are useful as always. And the wig should stay (ish).
This is a great challenge!
The Track on this though, well played
Great video, very helpful advice
A question if I may, what ISO are you using? The images look amazing, and the grainy look really fits. Is this something you have tried to achieve in post with grain and maybe less/no noise reduction, or have you tried to "save" the images and ended up with this look? Either way they really are stunning! Thank you for your time /Filip from Sweden
Northwest Indiana love ❤
I love in LA where can I find people to go out and take pictures with? In all alone. Makes it hard to want to go out as much or as long.
best as always!! learing a lot from u ppl thanks!!
@3:03 I FREAKING LOOOOOOVEEEEE
Kudos from Indiana, myself! lol
I’m wigging out at this video ;)
Loving it guys! Did you have to bump your iso up for the lowlight or did the windows give enough to keep it under 800? 🙌🖤🙌
didn’t bump it over 100 💁🏻 just been into adding grain lately 👍
Sooo there won't come any paris videos? I luveedd the moody soft focus photo's
that was our honeymoon, so we didn’t work.
Love you guys! Keep it coming !
i was letting my hair grow so i can cover my face like rachel but i should probably just buy a wig instead
Thanks for featuring my music :).
Great challenge! :)
I live in Northampton UK and it can be duller than dishwater but I love it!!! Also Wiggage for the Winnage!
I love your wigs
yall came to northern Indiana, near where I live, and I didnt even know :( my heart hurts a lil bit
It’s 10:30, i look around and there’s wigs everywhere. Wigs everywhere there is.
Awesome idea 👌 but I always have the feeling that everything you shoot in the us is some kind of cinematic xD
Jeez you two are photography gods. Also, are we sure your sister isn't a model?
Do you prefer realistic looking wigs, (so you can't even tell its a wig) or more dramatic colours and cuts for the aesthetic?

Mango Street Fair enough
Wig hunty yes we stan a queen
Do i get noticed by mango Street yet
BIG MOOD
I said this pictures look professional. Then I remembered this guys are pros...🤣
Rachel I like your mew look looking so cool.
Nice video, like always very useful! ♥
Where do you upload/post these photos!!!
Actually so good when I see a story from you Rachel on ig because it could potentially be a vid from you two haha. 🙊 Only downside is it's 11:15 pm and I have to hide under the sheets to watch it so I don't wake up my girlfriend and the dog.
we post at the same time every week (6am pst monday morning), so now you don’t have to watch any of my ig stories 💁🏻
Mango Street well now I'm going to be waiting for it every week. 😅 Thank you though!
How about an video on photographing events as a beginner?
What kind of ISO values were you dealing with? No flash correct just ambient light?
250 - 800 -- just ambient light
Can I make a suggestion for the next video?....im gonna make a suggestion. Do a back to school photo shoot, like in a library or a school or like in this video with a desk 📚📑
you guys are suppppppr amazing ...love your stuff
Yo I’m from northern Indiana too!!!!
Wigs are expensive. I have been using poser paste in my sister's hair to get the model look I am going for :p
MOODY FEELING!!
BIG MOODY!!
Who would have thought that my all time classic school positions could be used by a model
In the Netherlands we don't have such big basements, but at home I do have a few garages. And I honestly would LOVE to compete in this challenge! Hopefully I find the time. When is this challenge ending?
when you or your gear die
Cool, thanks! I'm planning on killing myself for a long time, but I keep trying and failing... So, yeah... okay... I should just leave now.
That's me with my photos! All of my photos are shot within a 10 mile radius. Check it out guys! @eystevephoto
taking pictures in dark rooms is always been a struggle for me. it’s probably because i don’t rlly know how to find good lighting, tht won’t take away the darkness of the room. but Incase it’s not tht & its a setting issue. wat should my shutter speed or my iso or even my white balance b set to?
someone pls help.
we kept our ISO between 100-800, aperture f/1.4, and shutter 1/125th and faster.
Hi, I have a question not related to the video...
I took photos of a wedding last year but I was still fairly new so there was no contract. I want to use some of those photos to build my portfolio and have on my photography Instagram page. Would I need to have them sign something that allows me to use the photos?
Thanks in advance for your response 🙂
In this instance you could probably just ask them if it's okay (over email, text, facebook messenger, or anything you can actually save a copy of for proof) also I suggest joining the LooksLikeFilm Learn group on facebook! Tons of helpful people for questions like this
Next is base camera challenge
