Subscribed because I want to see more footage from this camera! It almost makes my monitor look like a 3D display. You have incredible talent.
KBurchfiel Thanks mate. I hope to do more filming on the beast soon :)
Style, style EVERYWHERE
素晴らしい!!👏😎
Omedetou!!👊😁

The only thing missing is the engines sounds, not saying that it shouldn't be music but for me the sounds of engine's from these cars would be Bliss... Good job on the quality of the video

Muy genial 😀🤙

Nice Job! Didn't expect the autofocus to be that good.
Thanks mate. All the focusing was done manually using a remote follow focus system :)
Aaaah! That explains a lot :-D
I've done an in-depth write-up about the shoot here (you can see the gimbal setup in the pics!): www.cinema5d.com/hasselblad-h6d-100c-review-real-word-footage-and-editing-workflow/
Nice! I'll check that out.

My camcorder is larger than a cell phone but smaller than a TV camera, so that makes it medium format right?
KBurchfiel That is def. one way of looking at it
Since no one else is saying anything
there is a new rule in Japan that requires each track to have at least 1 underwear foot racer
All hail Sir Gasody the underpants man!
Beautiful. Are you excited for the the new Fuji GFX100 with IBIS?
I will probably try it out at some stage, but use gimbals and dollys for stabilization so in no rush for IBIS ;)
All the warnings on Rolling Shutter, these shots look better in the panning then stuff broadcast from Sony and BMD cameras.
How fast can you pan before it all tilts over sideways?
I was pretty careful to caress the panning/dolly movements. But, as you state, it isn't really all that bad until you start doing really fast pans with straight lines like trees in the frame. Look up Sony's a6500 for a similar rolling shutter performance. My review is designed to be extra honest about the cons so there are no surprises when you pick the camera up for yourself. All the cons, except maybe sound, can easily be avoided as this video highlights I think. The amazing image quality more than compensates for any flaws :)
The A6500,... the skew is why I didn't buy one.
It's hard doing honest revues - I'm writing one for the Cion, which I love, and is amazing when the camera needs to be hand held or dolly sideways fast,.. but being an owner, I know where the real issues are,... unlike the poorly done C5D review when it was new.
But it's better for everyone if we know when a camera is right for a job, and when other options are better.
I'd really love to see a dramatic scene done on the H6D, under studio lighting, I'd bet on it being something very special.
PiDsMedia I agree. Knowing which camera for which job is really important. I liked using the Cion when I had it. The colors and shutter where great and very cinematic with the right lighting. I hope to film more on the H6D-100C with lighting as well to really see what it can do.
If you get chance, try 'Disabled Gamma' on the Cion (it'll look crazy dark in the viewfinder, but the histogram is accurate) and then go 'Linear' to Rec709 or Rec2020 in Resolves OpenFX Colourspace transform. :)
PiDsMedia I will. Thanks for the tip :)

Dude, this footage is insanely good. What did you edit it with? I heard no program recognises the file kind? And also, which lens did you use?
Thanks mate. The best editor for raw cinema DNG sequences is Davinci Resolve. The free version will get you the same result as this. Pretty insane that it doesn't cost anything, especially when you look at Adobe...The H6D-100C uses Hasselblad's own medium-format lenses. The main lens for the gimbal stuff is the 80mm F2.8. The zoomed stuff toward the end is the 300mm. Both exceptional pieces of glass :)
Very nice mate. Very cinematic. Really has the medium format look. Congrats! I agree it's insane that DaVinci is free.
What wizardry did you use to focus?
Some experience and a little intuition :)
Pics of the gimbal setup I used is up on my FB page if you wanna see what it looks like.
I can see how it works "technically" but the coordination needed to walk, point the camera and focus blows my mind!
I like how your footage hasn't got the bouncy pogo effect most gimbal footage has
Haha! A good external monitor with focus peaking you trust can help a lot.
I hate that bounce effect from gimbals too, so spend a lot of time finding ways to kill it.
A very soft setting on the tilt axis goes a long way to preventing harsh z-axis movements when on uneven ground especially.

Who drives the pickup truck?! How can I find out.

How did you pull focus?

ugh! why did you crop it?
Same as the reason for your question I would imagine, purely personal preference :)
