Hi, can this be used a rewire replacement in Windows for DAWs that don't support Ableton Link? All I really want to do is be able to sync one stereo audio stream, so I can preview loops in Live's browser to project temp in DP, since DP doesn't have preview to tempo functionality, and what I used to use Rewire for.
Unfortunately tempo and transport sync is not available trhu plug-ins so you cannot fully synchronize DAWs thru Connector. You can however use Connector to send/receive audio et do the sync via MIDI, either thru a physical MIDI interface, or via a virtual MIDI driver.
It is pretty similar to what is explained in this tutorial. In Cubase you simply need to add Connector to an audio track, send the MIDI track's output to Connector, and make sure both tracks are armed to input monitoring.
You are probably experiencing dropouts. You may need to change buffering options as explained here: www.bluecataudio.com/HelpDesk/knowledgebase.php?article=48
This looks interesting, love all your plugins btw. I'm trying to find the best method to use ableton live and pro tools together and want to send midi from Ableton to Pro tools, or trigger the midi from pro tools from ableton, not sure the best method yet, going to download the demo.... but how does it work with automation? like if i have automation going on in ableton will this send it to an automation parameter in pro tools? thx in advance! look forward to playing with this
Trying to send midi from ableton to Cubase, everything seems to be set up correctly but my vst instrument is not getting any midi input when I hit play from ableton, any ideas?
Have you created an extra MIDI track in Cubase to route MIDI events from the output of Connector to the input of your instrument? In almost all DAWs you need a dedicated MIDI track to route MIDI from a plug-in to another.
@@zolakaya The only way at the moment is to connect both apps via an external MIDI interface... Which kind of defeats the purpose of having all data go thru a single ethernet cable... :-(

@@bluecataudio Probably not the answer I am looking for then. I do won most of your other plugins and love them very much:)
How would you send MIDI from Cubase 12 to an instrument track in Logic?

I am trying to connect Ableton 11 to ProTools 222.7 and the sound is very distorted? What Am I doing wrong? It seems a very simple setup?

im probably stupid but it doesnt sync the daws :( i get audio but the daws dont play at the same time
reaper and bitwig
The is indeed no possible sync between transports using the plug-in (plug-ins do not have access at transport and sync, unfortunately).

What benefits does this have on Mac using the IAC MIDI coupled with SOundflower?
You can send/receive from anywhere in the DAW (not just tracks/busses), and you can also connect to other computers thru the network.
Perfect.
I'm using this to send midi from Waveform to MainStage's Alchemy and then recording the audio back into Waveform.
Works very well.
Thanks for the comment!
How can I sync the two DAWs transport on PC?
You cannot sync transport thru Connector, because it is a plug-in, and currently DAWs will not let plug-ins affect transport, unfortunately.
@@bluecataudio Understood. Thanks. I suppose I should have asked, how do you suggest that we could sync the transports.

Wow... 👌👌👌👍👍👍
Thankyou... 🙏🙏🙏

Great! How well does it manage delay compensation between DAWs?
I just read the info on the website. Well done guys you're amazing!
It is not possible to compensate the latency automatically between DAWs, unfortunately.
I tried but could not get this to work. It would send but the other DAW would not receive. Very frustrating
