I have now Kitbashed Agent Melinda and Yo Yo! I have been buying Female Agents of SHIELD and, because no one wants them, 2 Female Eternals that are cheap at Ollie's! I bought Eternals Sersi who is Asian, and Ajax who is Hispanic, in fact Salma Hayak. With these heads I can now kitbash Agent Melinda May and Yo Yo! I also have a spare Luke Cage I can headswap into a Mack. I already have Coulson and Daisy/Quake. Unfortunately, there isn't good bucks for Fitz and Simmons. But, most of the team is better than none.
Ming-Na Wen is one of those actors who makes anything better. As soon as you see her in a movie or show you know "Ah, no matter what at least this character will be incredible."
Yes, happened with Street Fighter back in mid-90's! She was a rare highlight of that one playing iconic Chun-Li, another being great late Raul Julia as M.Bison and that's pretty much it...the only two things that stood out from that caravan of garbage...
@@CantankerousDave I first saw her on a soap opera my mom and sister watched in the late 80s. I thought she was so beautiful and loved seeing her pop up in all kinds of things. The single guy being one of them.
As an eight year old girl watching Star Wars in 1977, Leia became my childhood hero. To have strong badass women like Bo and Fennec carry on that legend in this universe today is so beautiful and satisfying. I'm almost 55 and collect the figures and pops. Kid at ❤ always. Thank you for this conversation and these wonderful characters you both have brought us. Bring on Fennec and Bo in S2 please!
Bo-Katan and Fennic Shand TOGETHER...I LOVE IT. My two favorite actresses together in on Podcast. I have LOVED Ming-Na since I saw her in ER, then followed her to Agents of Shield and now in Star Wars. LOVE HER.
Ming-Na Wen and Katee Sackhoff, Agents of Shield and Battlestar Galactica are two of my favourite DVD collections because of the roles you both play. I watch both of these series regularly and love them like seeing an old friend every time. Great interview ladies.
I was on the set of "ER" for episode "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished" and I sat on the set while the actors blocked their scene with Nelson McCormick, camera and sound. The actor had their scripts in hand. I recall listening to Ming-Na rehearsing her medical jargon while doing her stage directions. I couldn't do what she did. The medical jargon was frighteningly difficult, and to do it so effortlessly. Wow!
@@LaraA55 Her ability to remember those medical lines astounds me, because she was constantly learning new lines, every 10 days a new episode, and a 21 episode contract with NBC. She was locked in to ER contractually. But she took what I think would scare the average actor and did her part effortlessly. She became Dr. Jing-Mei Chen flawlessly. The scene they were rehearsing was a walk and talk with the camera moving around the ER from character to character.
I saw Joy Luck Club when I was 20 years old and I was captivated. It wouldn't seem like something a white male sci-fi nerd would get into... but the level of story telling and heart in that movie swallowed me up. Ever since I have been a huge fan of Ming-Na Wen.

I loved Ming-Na in agents of shield! She played her character so amazingly well! I adored the show because of her alone. Tbh she’s the reason I got back into Star Wars and even started watching the Mandalorian. Loved the interview and both of these incredible actresses 🤩
Love Ming-Na Wen. I had the opportunity to meet her twice at two different cons and she was kind and gracious. By the way, The Joy Luck Club was not an 80s movie. It came out in 1993. And Ming-Na looks like she hasn't aged since then.
I've loved Ming-Na Wen since I learned she voiced Mulan, when I was about 10 years old. As a massive Star Wars fan, I remember jumping and shouting for joy the second I saw her in The Mandalorian. I can't believe I never realized how absolutely hilarious she is. She had me laughing out loud during the entire podcast. Ageless, stunning, hilarious, and so damn talented.

Ming-Na Wen…what an utterly charming, beautiful woman in real life. Thank you for having her as a guest. Whatever I happen to catch her in, be it a movie or television show, I found her to personify a character that is magnetic and unforgettable, she adds that much to a scene. It is surprising to hear that she is 60 years. I am sure that it is a combination of good genes & diet, exercise, and a regimen of skin care that makes her appear so youthful. I would really love to see you both together in a series or movie with your Star Wars characters as a spin-off. It would be amazing! It would be only possible with Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni…I hope you guys are seeing this and make it happen!
Years ago I sat next to her at a Laker game about 7 seats back from the floor. She was with her husband and son who was around 8. He was so well behaved and friendly. She should write a parenting book.
I just want to add to the love for Ming Na Wen as Mulan. I was four years old and swaying in my living room, before social media (fortunately or unfortunately) jumping on our couch and back down to the floor. Quoting all the lines! Her voice is a voice of my childhood.
Fabulous conversation. Been a big fan of you two who seem like great people. As an Asian growing up watching a lot of TV and movies, I was stuck with a lot of masculine Asian characters like Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, who were great, but I could not relate to them very much. Ming Na Wen's characters seemed like real people, I knew or could know, and want to know. We always tried to watch everything she was in, because, well, there aren't many Asian actors. I am SO glad you talked about The Joy Luck Club. That is such a BEAUTIFUL movie. Heartbreaking AF but so beautiful. The performances never fail to make me sob, so its my go-to movie for when I want to have a good cry.
The beauty here and intelligence just warms my heart. Hearing you both laugh is so rewarding too, and hearing you speak about the fans (us) is very nice.
Any other time I would be annoyed I listened to the audio version, only to find out the video would come out hours later. But this is #1 Katee Sackhoff and #2 Ming-Na Wen. However, I am not annoyed or mad about it. Instead I am listening again. You and Ming-Na Wen are among those people in this world who embody the true definition of the word beauty in the way it was originally intended. The positivity, excitement and good you two put out into the world is a welcomed chisel to the mind that chips away at the ugliness that is observed day-by-day. Best wishes to you and yours, and Thank you.
I LOVED this episode. Having recently met and chatted with Ming-Na Wen at FanExpo Toronto last year and finding out we're the same age is inspiring. You two are great together and Filoni should give you a team up show!
One of my favorite roles of Ming-Na's was Dr. Jing-Mei "Deb" Chen on the NBC drama series ER. That was from 1994-1995 and then in 1999 until the end of that show. I loved her in the Star Wars streaming shows.
I just want to throw out there, that my 60-something year old Japanese teacher, just wanted us to watch Mulan because she loved it, and I think I understand because even at her age, she was so excited to have that representation on screen, like Disney had made the film just for her and its delightful.
I am so happy you finally we able to release this episode. I have seen the clips for ming na for so long and have been waiting. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I am sure she will crush it and be better soon. 😊
I'm such a huge fan of the two of you!!! I got introduced to Ming through the Agents of Shield, I absolutely loved this show, still rewatch it, cause it's so good! Her character there was one of the reasons why the show managed to eventually run for 7 seasons, I think ❤ And Katee, god, that's so good, I was looking for recent interviews with Ming on UA-cam, and I saw your podcast and then recognized you as Amunet from the Flash. God, you were AMAZING in that role! I've gotta be honest, I was hardcore crushing on you in the Flash 😂❤ Keep up with the podcast, what you're doing is amazing 🎉
Great talk!! This was the one I was waiting for and it did not disappoint. I think Ming-Na was thinking about Gil Gerard/Buck Rogers when you were talking about the original Battlestar :)
What Ming-Na Wen described in 12:17 was what my grandma did to me and my brother. She didn't do the face part though, but other aspects. I believe it's called Fengshui. It is used in many things such as house positions, calenders, and even your birth years (specifically your zodiac year). So my grandma would check my birth year, and then adviced me to find a spouse with certain birth years that would match the animal of my zodiac, which is sometimes funny. It's a really common traditional stuff that Asian parents go into but interesting as well. And her explaining about her Mum's reaction on her college things, and her bluntness is the most Asian thing ever hahahah!
It's funny you would bring up Feng Shui. I spent last weekend looking at my home placement (very general) and it explains a lot. LOL! They have calculators to find your Feng Shui number and that number represents how each direction in your house affects you. So if you're a 1 and the guy you're interested in is a 7, you are exact energy opposites, which just means if you do something to boost your good fortune, with a 7 you're boosting their bad fortune. Interesting thing to think about.
Mrs. Wen, You are what I love about America. I love that anyone with perseverance and determination can make it. Thank you for being a down to earth person and for not losing yourself in your stardom.
I am absolutely grateful to Filoni for making me discover these two incredible actresses through one of my most beloved franchises. As a young woman, it is a truly blessing to have such quality female representation in the Star Wars universe. You are both excellent role models and great professionals.
Name change makes sense and even though I’ll miss the video format, it totally makes sense to switch to audio only. You have to do what’s best financially of course, but more importantly you have to do what’s best for you and your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts, and praying your daughter makes a quick and full recovery.
Really lovely interview/podcast with Ming-na. The energy between the two of you was joyful to watch and made me smile widely and often on what as otherwise been a rough day. Thanks for being awesome and I wish you and your family good health and plenty of Sacktime as it were.
Great interview. When you asked her about crushes and she mentions Gil. That's Gil Gerard, who played Buck Rodgers, which everyone also watched if they watched original Battlestar.
This has GOT to be one of the coolest interactions I've ever seen on any podcast. If there were levels to people being down to earth, these lovely ladies would be among the top tier.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Queens 100% Love ya both but as a Star Wars fan, having you both in the SW world is a pure treat for us but we are truly blessed to have yaz here. Salute to you both from New Zealand ❤
Thank You miss Katee Sackhoff for all your hard work your team and all your time thank you very much have a great day wish happiness to your family honest
holy moly the chemistry between you two is off the charts. To the AoS thing which is still to this day one of my fav Marvel shows, but in the day when it was still under Perlmutters boot. I think Feige took over Marvel Studios properly when they did Civil War but I think TV was still Perlmutters responsibility that was to late to integrate AoS properly when he was finally fired in 2023. Even to this day the marvel shows and movies live in their own bubbles.
@@jackseney571 Absolutely. Any issue would be resolved by The Multiverse. So, they could have the same characters from AOS like Melinda May but have their own twist.
So love hearing behind the scenes stuff. Two actors I love. Bring starlight to anything they are in. Also both have personalities that lift a cast and benefit any production they are in... ladies I salute you
Great guest. You two are the perfect example to show us guy "nerds" don't "hate any strong woman character" when you both have played multiple gay fan favorite roles. Katee playing one of the biggest nerd fan favorites in a show of all time. As long as they're well written, played by great actresses like these two and aren't being snide to fans people tend to like any type of character whether it's a guy or gal. But again, what an amazing first guest for the podcast. Huge fan. What a badass. And seriously, what a fox. Not even considering her age.
I've been waiting for this one since she was in your old intro. You ladies are amazing together and the energy on this podcast seemed so much fun. Ming-Na has been a favorite of mine since her Mulan days and her commitment to various sci-fi shows. She was solid in Agents of Shield, Stargate SGU and of course now in Star Wars. When she was first on The Mandalorian I almost raged when they killed her and teased her still being alive. Ming-Na was meant to be in this franchise. As a fan of this podcast, I can say I'm willing to wait and understand the format changes. I personally love the video to see the joy of everyone on the show. Do what you need to do and when you can I know fans will be ready,. Great episode. I could have listened for another hour.
I wish she would go back to do more drama shows and movies. Great job in Joy Luck Club and ER. Showed lots of versatility with Agents of Shield. Happy she is now part of Star Wars universe but would love for to earn an Oscar for best actress.
Agents of shield is the best marvel tv show to this day! Enjoy it because it’s way better than it has any right to be!! Edit:It’s the only show that was just as good on a rewatch, because it reveals different things the second time.🤷🏾♂️
going to people's houses and having those kick back conversations sounds great and i think will really help the pod stand out from others. and keep on blocking all of the haters!!!!
An interview that's also a convo between good friends... near perfect! Ming made me realize I had an easy time at uni (we only had a few classes in our Radio-TV-Film major) but all her work paid off. BTW, I have a prop coin from the Katie era *Gallactica* proudly displayed on my wall.

I just want to throw out there, that my 60-something year old Japanese teacher, just wanted us to watch Mulan because she loved it, and I think I understand because even at her age, she was so excited to have that representation on screen, like Disney had made the film just for her and its delightful.
Amazing women, great actresses!
Two of my favorite Star Wars characters!!!
😎👌
I am so happy you finally we able to release this episode. I have seen the clips for ming na for so long and have been waiting. I am sorry to hear about your daughter. I am sure she will crush it and be better soon. 😊
I'm such a huge fan of the two of you!!!
I got introduced to Ming through the Agents of Shield, I absolutely loved this show, still rewatch it, cause it's so good! Her character there was one of the reasons why the show managed to eventually run for 7 seasons, I think ❤
And Katee, god, that's so good, I was looking for recent interviews with Ming on UA-cam, and I saw your podcast and then recognized you as Amunet from the Flash. God, you were AMAZING in that role! I've gotta be honest, I was hardcore crushing on you in the Flash 😂❤
Keep up with the podcast, what you're doing is amazing 🎉
Great talk!! This was the one I was waiting for and it did not disappoint. I think Ming-Na was thinking about Gil Gerard/Buck Rogers when you were talking about the original Battlestar :)
That's exactly what leapt to mind for me as well.
we NEED an episode with Dave. We NEED it
What Ming-Na Wen described in 12:17 was what my grandma did to me and my brother.
Yay more Katee Sackhoff ❤
I am absolutely grateful to Filoni for making me discover these two incredible actresses through one of my most beloved franchises. As a young woman, it is a truly blessing to have such quality female representation in the Star Wars universe. You are both excellent role models and great professionals.
Name change makes sense and even though I’ll miss the video format, it totally makes sense to switch to audio only. You have to do what’s best financially of course, but more importantly you have to do what’s best for you and your family. Keeping you all in my thoughts, and praying your daughter makes a quick and full recovery.
Paz Vizsla: You are not a true Mandalorian
Bo-Katan: I polish my armor everyday with this (holds up can of Brasso)
Paz Vizsla: This is the Way.
Two awesome ladies who I first saw on the Sci Fi channel!
Really lovely interview/podcast with Ming-na. The energy between the two of you was joyful to watch and made me smile widely and often on what as otherwise been a rough day. Thanks for being awesome and I wish you and your family good health and plenty of Sacktime as it were.
You rock Katee!!! Awesome awesome show, don't stop! :) And SUPER congrats to you and Ming-Na, both of you are real life superheroes!!! Cheers!!!
This is my favorite podcast ❤😂 so good so fun, Ming Na is amazing ❤
These two women are the best and are two very good reasons to love Disney Star Wars. Loving this interview!
Both you lovely ladies are amazing and so down to earth…..what a joy to listen too…..😎
Katee, do what you want! The reward will present itself in due time, and the fun ride may be the exciting part…
Two brilliantly talented & gorgeous actors, they are totally awesome
Love you both. Such s wonderful human beings.
This interview is pure joy. 😁🤩
Ming Na When and Katee Sackhoff are both Sooo 🔥🔥🔥
Thank You miss Katee Sackhoff for all your hard work your team and all your time thank you very much have a great day wish happiness to your family honest
holy moly the chemistry between you two is off the charts.
To the AoS thing which is still to this day one of my fav Marvel shows, but in the day when it was still under Perlmutters boot. I think Feige took over Marvel Studios properly when they did Civil War but I think TV was still Perlmutters responsibility that was to late to integrate AoS properly when he was finally fired in 2023. Even to this day the marvel shows and movies live in their own bubbles.
They should stay in a bubble. I think it allows for more creative freedom.
Also, Colson was supposed to be dead so none of the Avengers could see him in a movie!
Ming Na Wen is just amazing. I lost it when she did not know that she was shooting a show and she was the lead. LOL
Have followed her since JLC. She's awesome. And gorgeous. Keep on gettin' it , Ms. Wen!
I love: Katee Sackoff, BSG, Ming-Na, and grew up watching Joy Luck Club. Is it possible to squeeze any more awesomeness in one place?!
I just stumbled upon this after nostalgia-hunting for recent videos with AoS cast members. This is so cool!
I wish she would go back to do more drama shows and movies. Great job in Joy Luck Club and ER. Showed lots of versatility with Agents of Shield. Happy she is now part of Star Wars universe but would love for to earn an Oscar for best actress.
Two wonderful women, and two great additions to the Star Wars universe! Great podcast, hope to have Ming-Na Wen back soon.
Too beautiful ladies awesome films and TV shows
Fellow Pittsburgher- I never knew she lived in da 'Burgh! Love all of their work- both of 'em! I'm also 60.
my first time seeing her was on Stargate universe. i still havent gotten around to see Shield. but im sure she was fantastic in that one as well
Agents of shield is the best marvel tv show to this day! Enjoy it because it’s way better than it has any right to be!!
Edit:It’s the only show that was just as good on a rewatch, because it reveals different things the second time.🤷🏾♂️
Thank you Ming! ❤❤ What a great fun interview! You can tell you guys are friends! Thabk you Katee! I watched it twice! ❤️🧡💛💚💙🩵💜
Great show Katee. Stay strong, be positive, and don't listen to the negativity !!! Your family will be in my prayers, all the best for your daughter.
going to people's houses and having those kick back conversations sounds great and i think will really help the pod stand out from others. and keep on blocking all of the haters!!!!
An interview that's also a convo between good friends... near perfect! Ming made me realize I had an easy time at uni (we only had a few classes in our Radio-TV-Film major) but all her work paid off. BTW, I have a prop coin from the Katie era *Gallactica* proudly displayed on my wall.
I wish I could get all the love for Ming-Na in a comment. Such a real person, so gorgeous, so physically talented, and so smart. I would watch a movie of you eating a ham sandwich ;) Looking forward to your next big thing!
It's been so long since I've seen "Joy Luck Club" but I loved that film and didn't realize she'd been in it! She's so badass as Fennec--one of my favorite female Star Wars characters. My favorite is Bo-Katan. No cap!
I enjoyed every minute of that show. Thank you lady's.
She is so amazing. And holy shit...she's older than me. I'm 57 and I look like 200lbs of chewed bubble gum with an angry retired cop head on top.
You guys are both amazing, and for the record, I discovered Ming-Na on ER. Thank you for such a great episode.
Katee and Ming-Na are both so beautiful. I especially love that neither of them have had cosmetic surgery, or at least not obvious or drastic surgery.
