Something I remember from the Dom5 game on the similar map was Faery Trod being a lot more powerful given how rare two forests touching are and how long and inconvenient normal movement can be. I don't think that is an issue of much significance but I wonder if doubling forests on all of the forest exits would be good. No forest in the back is nice.
Given the size of the map and slow logistics, folks might want to consider playing with game settings like 75% gold income or slow research, to avoid the game feeling like it hits late game too quickly.
14:00 if someone's running away with the game then they have to have fronts to lots of people. It's just hard for lots of people to get to the capital of someone who is losing. The other option that would either be more interesting or completely terrible (🤷♀) is to keep the same amount of hard mountain border but shift the soft pass/river borders round to make the 'bottom' of the cup less secure (while still hard to reach). I think it would probably break what you're trying for though. What might work really well is narrowing the 'passages' between 'cups'
Thanks for putting this map together! Was quite the stream watching it all come together Were you able to update the map so the cup provinces aren't all mountains?
It depends how you make the map if certain things like dominion spread, income/gem tracing, and rituals allow one to go over the mountains. IIRC when Lucid created this map he edited the mountains so you can't teleport over them (at least not as one adjacent step, if you have enough steps to teleport around them then that would be fine).
3:15 - Map discussion begins.
Mordor sippy cups!!

Is the map locked to those graphics or is that a separate thing?
Its locked to these graphics (i tried making it use the .d6m format and it mostly worked but wouldnt display mountains)
10:50 You can we can't fly over the mountains. How about Teleport? Do rituals always count around mountains?

Yeah - mountains are complete blocks in this case. Most other maps you can magic phase through that
This map looks like fun. Thank you for taking the time to set it up and balance it. I'm looking forward to playing on it.
