Your motivation and passion is inspiring!! I find a lot of good interval workouts on Reddit actually and I adjust the paces and recovery periods for myself. One of my favourites for 5k/10k training is 6min hard, 5min hard, etc. down to 1min hard. I usually take 1.5-2 mins. It’s tough but fun and the format helps it go by quicker!!
Thanks for all of those suggestions! I never thought to look to Reddit but that totally makes sense. Your interval session sounds fun! I love how mentally engaging the intervals can be; it's like a fun little game.
10k jog with a 4min bump on your time is amazing! Grinding it out each week seems to really be paying off. I have been jogging 5k 3 times a week, but you have me wondering... I have no idea if I could jog 10k. I think it is time to find out. :) Keep that discipline going. Future Kara will thank you.
Getting out there on a regular basis has had a massive impact on my running and I find that the more I stick with it, the easier sticking with it is. And now I'm vested in your running journey! I have no doubt that you can work up to 10k (just please build slowly so you don't wreck yourself by instantly doubling your distance!). if you do work towards it, I'd love to hear how it's going!
No advice. However, you inspire me to stay with my plan (6x "movement" per week = 1x curling, 2x training with trainer, 2-3x elliptical, and at least one long dog walk). I really appreciate comments not exercising to loss weight. I am blocking more and more diet ads. Be well!
I'm interested in hiring a trainer too. I have massive gym anxiety and get very overwhelmed/panicky when I don't know how to do something. Having a trainer to teach me how to use the equipment and to create a routine would be a big help. I'm glad that you're blocking diet ads; they can really mess with our mindsets.
@@finding_health Trainers are expensive. But a good trainer is great at keeping your body guessing, holding you accountable, and pushing your brain past the artificial limits you have created for yourself.
I've lived in Canada since 98 and I still can't get my snow legs under me! lol Your determination is seriously awesome.
It hasn't been a particularly bad winter but I'm over it. Bring on spring!!!

You ROCK!
Thank you! ♥
Great job girl 🎉
🥳 Thank you!!
Great job on the pb 💥
Thank you!! I genuinely didn't think it would happen when it took 40 minutes to hit 5k on an icy path.

Great job!! Amazing isn't it, running 10K when you really didn't think it would be possible when you were younger!
It really is. I wish I could show young me what's possible when you commit and keep showing up, even when you don't feel like it.
@@finding_health same!
