Fantastic cover and lesson mate! Have watched many version and yours is easily the best explained and best played. Please a Part II on Mick's legendary guitar solo!!!! Cheers and all the best for 2021! 👍👍
Many thanks Keef! One of the greatest extended rock solos ever-yes, I will keep it in mind for another lesson video. Stay tuned and thank you for the support!
@@JakeAndrewsMusic Thanks Jake. I will make a bold prediction that you will have over 100K followers by the end of 2021 if you keep up with this high standard! Cheers!
Hi, Jake, I have been watching lessons for some of my Stones favorites when I happened to see yours. I watched for a couple of minutes before I realized who the guitarist was. I enjoyed the Haight concert a lot, too. I live in California now. Swimming pools. Movie stars. I can see the nightly fireworks at Disneyland from just down the street. I've been here for almost 8 years, but the best memories in my life are from Austin. How about you? The last time that I saw you was at Deep Eddy, and I think you were living in Houston. Guess I should stop, now. This is kind of long for this space. Now that I know you have a channel, I'll subscribe and learn some music. My best to your parents and your sisters, too. @@JakeAndrewsMusic
Awesome!! It's too bad everytime I learn to play an awesome Stones tune like this I forget how to play it by the end of the month!! Kieths riffs are iconic.
Well done mate, I didn’t think it would sound good, you fxxxxx nailed it. Sounds outstanding and your tone is on point. I’m going too learn it this way also. Thank you for posting
Jake, this is badass man! Thanks so much! Gotta be one of the best Rock And Roll riffs of all time. So nice that you've taught it in standard tuning, lots of gold nuggets here. More Jimmie Vaughan if you don't mind. I'd love to hear your rhythm guitar interpretation on "Good Texan"
Thank you Alan! Yep, it's a Custom Shop '58 with a killer tone. Check out my most recent album tracks from "In The Shadows" on this channel or iTunes/Spotify to really hear what it can do! Glad you enjoyed the video.
WOW!!!! I always wondered if this song could be transposed to standard tuning. Obviously it can!!! Excellent , spot on cover!! I just subscribed to your channel last week and so glad I did!!! Looking forward to learning it this way!!
Thank you Mark! Have fun with this one-once you get it down, you'll be wanting to play along with the original all the time! I appreciate the support. Check back again soon:)
@@JakeAndrewsMusic Hi Jake! Here's what I've learned from your lesson. Shitty playing compared to yours but the learning process was fun! Thanks again 😊 ua-cam.com/video/x4MN7SAeDk0/v-deo.html
@@JakeAndrewsMusic oh spot on, can only be a 58 with such a nice plain top, though i've seen 59's and 60's that were also quite plain, but damn i love the finish on yours, the burst is almost purple i love it ! i don't see it often but appreciate when i do. I got a USA goldtop and i love it, plays and sounds so good, but damn i'm thinking of saving up for a CS too lol
What’s up cousin Jake? Great lesson, was out looking for a lesson on this tune, and pleased to find it here, and it happens to be the best one I can find for this song , ha! Music in our DNA 😎🎸🎸🎸 I’ll share the results with you here when I get it down!
Never tried to play the song in standard tuning. But looking at you it seems more complicated to me. I think Keith Richards figured out this lifehack to easily play it being highly drugged )
Jake, invaluable stuff. Curious how hard you are pushing it on the volume of your Princeton to get it to the edge? My Vibrolux shakes the house at the edge:)
Thanks Gabrielle! I'm running my Custom Shop '58 LP through a vintage 1959 Fender Princeton with just a hair of added reverb. Truly can't beat Humbuckers through vintage tweed amps! Glad you enjoyed the lesson.
During school-time everybody has met some bad teachers, but you surpass them all ... together. I thought marty , andy, justin, carl and co are shit, these guys only wanna sell their videos, books, but ... it seems that there always is someone out there, who can do it much more better. Have you ever seen someone, that NEED video's to learn songs and isn't a good guitar player and learned this song with this video? I bet this is impossible and will be impossible for all time.
I think it sounds like a decent substitute in a pinch, but yeah, you can tell certain substitutions were made where you’re expecting brighter, high notes in the riff and he has to go an octave lower to still hit the same note in standard tuning. Not the same but still sounds pretty cool, I wouldn’t mind playing it and doubt casually listeners would notice/care
Hmh.....think this is a fantastic lesson of that Riff. Maybe keith played it in open G? It's just that special rythm feeling of his own. For me it was always boring and almost not possible trying to play the Riffs exactley as the Originals. Who needs that shit? But learning from the Masters to create your own Version seems more interesting to me.

Excellent lesson. Quite useful. I've got the same tee-shirt and a similar R0!!

Plus great sound as usual from a lessy
Thanks so much Justin:)
Great video. Great channel.
This is an option
But the actual tuning sounds .
Much easier to take a minute to returne the guitar.
Thanks Brad! True except then you won't be able to play the lead without switching guitars or retuning:) So this is an option for that purpose.
I can't hear it without a les Paul now/ That can't be right?
Well it's definitely a good tone for the song! Thanks:)
Your version of this song is so kick ass!!!!!
Thanks Fabian!

Wait wasn’t this recorded in a Les Paul on the recorded or was that just the cleaner/jazzy parts?

Question if the song is in G why is is being done in D ?? This is what always confuses me about music LOL
Main verses of the song and the solo are in D!
@@JakeAndrewsMusic thanks

Good info.
However, so many videos like this with super loud guitar and faint volume on voice.
perfect but i would just use 1st finger, the bass plays the rest
great i going to watch you bad
This song is in open G
Normally he is tuned to open G...but not me!
@@JakeAndrewsMusic Me neither, lol, cause we can play....;)
Wouldn't that telecaster I see have been a better guitar for this song? 😂❤️
Just love the tone of the LP on this one though!
LP was better
Harder to play and doesn't sound quite right. I fail to see the point when it just takes a minute to tune to open G.
Just a variation for folks that don't wanna retune:) Thanks for watching!

OUTFUCKINGSTANDING.
Thank you!
I learned it in open G note for note ,standard sounds off key sorry
That's why I always have a guitar ready in open G!
It’s not out of key, it just doesn’t have to complete notes. Like playing power cords vs a full triad or something more complex
The* not to
I think it sounds like a decent substitute in a pinch, but yeah, you can tell certain substitutions were made where you’re expecting brighter, high notes in the riff and he has to go an octave lower to still hit the same note in standard tuning.
