Just commenting to say thank you!! I just came back from a week of camping at a festival and there was dirt and other gunk under there and I couldn't tell if it was safe to push the slide part out or not. My lid was not exactly the same one you had but similar enough. You gave me confidence to try and now my cup lid is cleaner than it has been since I bought it!
I broke my slide...still works just in 2 pieces. I went to a local thrift shop n found a lid that was just laying there...paid 25 cents n it fits my SWIG...
OUTSTANDING! Now, aside from the silicone pieces being a bit stained from the coffee, but still very clean now, the lit looks otherwise brand new again. Thanks a bunch for saving my favorite cup's life.

Thank you! This was helpful. I knew going in that applying too much pressure might break the slider, so I applied more pressure slowly until the slider popped out.
It worked thank you! I was struggling with soaking it, trying to get soap under by moving it back and forth, a pipe cleaner but this got it all in a second!
The smallest silicone piece won't pop off but that one is pretty clean. One of the little notches broke off. 😔I am super excited I can pop it off and clean it now. Thank you!!!
OMG, thank you! I was gifted a very beautiful custom made cup for my birthday & that little silicon piece has started growing mold under it from the moisture. I was ready to throw my whole cup away bc I can't stand seeing it! Lol Thank YOU! ❤

I've seen some comments about lids breaking and was very nervous to try this but I didn't really have a choice because I drank milk in the Tumblr and milk got all underneath that part and that's something you just can't let sit there and not wash out. Luckily I had no trouble with it. If it had broken it wouldn't matter because it was either throw it out because it was too gross to use again, or give it a shot. And I would only have thrown the lid away anyways and kept the Tumblr. Thank you for this video.
Go easy. One of the sides broke on ours when popping it out. Its clear plastic so can crack easily. Maybe don’t do it every week to maintain its strength. The tiny clips will eventually break.

That didn't work for my lid, but I found it easy to remove the slider by pressing the 2 small tabs under the lid toward each other while pushing it out gently. Maybe my lid is different from yours.

I find this to be ridiculous! I love my cup of coffee and I love how this keeps it hot longer so that I can enjoy it, that being said, I'm disabled and that is way too difficult for me and I have been finding the silicone ring around the lid is getting stretched out 😢
Well... That didn't work for me unfortunately. Guess it's a 9 out of 10 success rate judging by the others that experienced a broken slider like me. 🤷🏽♂️

Followed this to a T and This method broke the side tabs that held the slider. Is it clean now? Yes, but now it's useless.
Same thing happened to me. Oh well I ordered another one for less than $5. Didn’t really want to drink with the dirty one so it is what it is.

Just turn it upside down and push the tabs in with your fingers, then push down.😉
Just use your thumbs to push the tabs in then down. It doesn't take much.
