You know, you are definitely most entertaining fencer to watch ever. I am not sure why, but your movements feel so clear and fluid, and also almost playful, its real pleasure to watch =)
Another video, another day closer to buying a sabre. My bank account is quaking with terror and my rapiers are giving me dirty looks for wanting a bit on the side
I was thinking it’s been a while since we got some long form stuff. Nice. I’d always like to see some instructional tidbits too if you have any. I’m trying to incorporate some dueling saber into my club (we have almost everything but) and I need some good drill ideas!
Yo, what equipment are you using? What sword, what protection? I want to get into this, I just have no idea what gear is worth buying and what gear is gonna give me a Temu R.O.I. If you don't answer this, my bank account will be HIGHLY appreciative.
@ on the strip, sure, a fletch is no big deal. But “Historical” probably includes a knife/dagger in the other hand. The fletch is a bad habit. That’s all I’m saying
Sabers were historically used with an empty offhand in most cases. Now a flèche is certainly a lot of commitment, but that’s not inherently a bad thing. I’d say it has a number of advantages over a lunge in a “real” duel, namely more traction.
@ I can see that. My only off the strip fencing was with the SCA. Fun. Though I thought they’re a bit paranoid. The fletch is strictly verboten. Silly. But one of the forms is blade and dagger, and you learn pretty quickly that over rushing in gets you a dagger in the ribs pretty much every time. Never mind if you slapped the tip on them as often as these guys do they’d all have a hissy fit😆😆

You make it seem so effortless and easy... Awesome fencing and one of the reasons I'm getting into sabre
That intro will never get old. One thing I really like about your sparring videos is it's clear that everyone is having fun.
Awesome video, by any chance could you show some breakdowns of you defending an aggressive point stab like the ones you make?
We need more longsword fight
Immaculate vibes. I'll have to get myself a dueling sabre eventually.

Very Nice!!

i see you wear face protection for lil jonny
Cool. Don’t know if I’d be running in with that fletch if they were sharp and pointy. But for your game it seems to function
If you offset their blade like you're supposed to, a fletch can be a decently safe move.

*Under* rushing gets you a dagger in the ribs. Fly behind them or way off to the outside and you're fine.
