Great job TIGUE, this is phenomenal! Congratulations Rob! Quite certainly one of the most rewarding new pieces to play in percussion literature right now!
Time Stamps of Movements: I. Repose 0:25 (attacca) II. Flicker 5:15 III. Flow 10:34 IV. Repose 2 15:38 (attacca; interrupted) V. Burst 16:22 (attacca) VI. Repose 3 21:00
I love this piece! What is your source for making the tuned pieces of wood and tuned metal rods? I want to perform this and other pieces (such as Threads by Paul Lanksy) at PennState where I am the percussion TA! I look forward to hearing from any of you that can help! Again, amazing job!
Hey Stephen - just seeing this now. TIGUE made the pipes/wood and I don't know exactly what their process was, but I know a lot of other groups have done it too. Here is a website some pretty detailed info on cutting pipes, though I think at heart it's about using a tuner, saw, file, and some trial and error. I'd imagine wood planks are a similar process. leehite.org/Chimes.htm#Tuning:
Honstein always makes me glad I listened.
This piece is SO DAMN GOOD
