Can it play regular format mp4s in 3d or it has to be in sbs format? Will it be able to play from internal drive or just from video platforms online only? Stream "any" video in 3d is kinda misleading don't you think? Can it stream netflix or amazon video in 3d? Can it play native android games from google play store in 3d or just games from the leia game store? I have these questions need to be answered before I decide on getting this tablet. I wonder why there isn't much review videos from the "real" owners/users of this device. A reply from you would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
@Jan Certeza, no the format doesn't have to be SBS, the Lume-Pad accepts all sorts of different formats including just 2D and it will convert it to 3D for you. There is another app that can also play local content called LeiaPlayer. As for games, It can play native android games from google play store but just not in 3D. The games in the Leia game store a specifically designed to play back on the device in 3D lightfield.
@@ANAVision - I have Uninstaller the app, tried reloading from Leia app store. It's saying it's appstore update then gives me errors. "TRY AGAIN CONTINUE AND TRY AGAIN LATER "
So, I'm curious about this, for experimental purposes. I want to take old movies and television shows and convert them into a 4V format. I didn't know the Leiapad existed when I came up with this, but I figured 4 views would be ideal for "Essential Depth" on a display. I know that what I'm proposing is in a legal gray area, and I was just wanting to make this content for family and friends. I was wondering how Leia's automatically generated depth maps would work for monocular footage? Are they any good?
I generally prefer content actually filmed in 3D, but the AI used for 2D to 3D conversations I have to admit is getting better these days including the conversions used by Leia. I would recommend that you use Light Field Studio to do your conversion rather than the on-the-fly conversions (both methods exist) since you may get better results with more processing power. If you want to play around with depth maps and see how they perform, have a go at convert.leiapix.com/#/. It's not for video, but it will give you some idea about depth map generation.
@@ANAVision I'm somewhat satisfied, and somewhat not satisfied with it. I don't really know what I was expecting, lmao. Since, I still manually make depth maps.
@@ANAVision Right now by hand. But that only gives me photos. NVIDIA is coming a long way with NERF reconstruction tech. So we'll see how it goes. The reason I hate the simplified software is that there is no way to correct the depth maps. I've been teaching myself how to rotoshape, or to use face tracking in unison to do the slide. I'm not exactly satisfied with automated depth maps for this reason. it reads luminance in a scene, My theory with scene luminance is this, it works great for walls, as it can guess a lot of details, not great with faces and moving objects since they mess with it too much. So far, I've tried 3dcombine, and this app. I'll try some more. Without a tablet, I'm relying on Pot Player and pair of altered colorcode glasses to see 3d things. I swapped the amber and blue filters, and feed the depth information to my submissive eye, so I can get a better effect.
The metadata needs to be injected prior to uploading. If video is already uploaded, unfortunately you would need to upload it as a separate video again in order to include the metadata.
Why in the world it is not just as easy to "share" a locally stored sbs or hoh 3D video file to the player is absurd! Streaming from a 3rd party repository should only be half of the equation.
@Micheal Hulme, are you aware of LeiaPlayer on the LumePad? It allows SBS 3D movies to be played. I have a video on it here: ua-cam.com/video/_VbJ02Z6uHE/v-deo.html. Or, were you referring more to the ability to "share" directly from somewhere else?

If they would allow for any video feed let’s say from a console or pc to be rendered in 3d well that would be amazing.
Thanks for the info.
no problem, thanks for your comment and for watching Albert.
How do you do Netflix
Function no longer available. Gives errors.
Have you upgraded to LeiaTube Version 0.2.11?

Can u watch any UA-cam video in 3D? Or does it have to be specific ones ?
@Chris B, you can watch most UA-cam videos in 3D, even ones that are not 3D to start with.
How add metadata 3D file for UA-cam in loaded ?

How do you watch a whole movie not video?
What's going on hear it's been a long time and nothing new
LeiaTube is still going strong, now on Lume Pad 2 and Nubia 3D Tablet.
HOW DO U BUY MOVIES I DON'T WANNA RENT I WANNA BUY
Yes, true, ownership is nice. But $1.99 rental ain't bad though, right?
What about Netflix movies in 3D
I tried with Netflix, no luck at this stage. I'll keep an eye on this though.
There is no option to share with leiatube
Is the option missing for you? Is this still the case for you?

LeiaPlayer 3.3 now allows you to convert local 2D video files into 3D!
