I read several reviews on the 3350 and your review is the best yet. I can add only one comment. Love the fact that the Viking uses analog controls to adjust sensitivity, etc. I don't mind digital controls on my phone or laptop, but id hate to be on a welding job site and have the battery go out on a digital helmet. Besides analog controls are so much faster to adjust on a helmet. Had my Viking for 3 weeks now and still love using, i can now see where i'm trying to weld.

this is the most in depth review on all of youtube. thank you! i had a speedglas 9100xxi that crack 3 times. It was a waste buying the filters again. i noticed they all cracked during the winter probably due to cold temps. This seems a lot sturdier. i just ordered one, cant wait for it to come in.

Very thorough review, best I've seen on this product. The price has increased dramatically since your review.

@@CreativityUnleashed Currently $350 on amazon. Was prepared to pay it then decided to check ebay. Glad I did. Found one for just under $320 (same amazon seller haha). Still a big jump from 2 years ago.

I'm using a cheap €20 fixed lens helmet atm, Ive been doing night classes for the last few months aiming to get certified. I'm starting late but I'm looking to add to my skills and pick up some more work. I'm in Formwork atm.
But I'm in the market for an auto darkening lens now, I'm in Ireland Esab seem to have good options here at a reasonable price the a40 savage is what I'm leaning towards.

thanks for the great review, the gasket you described is key in my decision not to buy a Miller I finity leaning towards a Viking 3350

    Good review, thanks!
I'm not a welder, but I think you may be off on the reason for the delay setting. From what I understand, the danger to your vision from welding is from ultraviolet light created by the electrical arc, not by the heat of the puddle. There may be some (smaller) risk from a puddle that is white hot, but once it cools off to yellow or red it won't be putting out UV.
Your review convinced me to sell my Harbor Freight helmet to some other schmuck, and get the Lincoln.
    Thanks!

If you've ever looked at the Sun or a light bulb if you look away and close your eyes you often will see a spot in your eyes and the same thing happens if you are welding at high amperage and you have your delay set to zero the second you stop welding the molten puddle is still letting off so much energy that you will get a spot burnt in your eyes and if you do it multiple times your eyes will start getting sore which means you're damaging your eyes but you are right the welding Arc is much worse than that
And I know lots of people that just weld with sunglasses 🕶️ but I don't like to work like that.

is that your favorite helmet beacause of the performance or it is your favorite because of the cost? there are many high cost high performance welding helmet in the market like optrel

I feel like they have just about a perfect mix of quality and cost I don't think that a better welding helmet would improve anyone's welding beyond what this one does .
If so it would probably be minimal.
a lot of welders make a lot of money and want to spend it I guess it's a lot like people and their cars
