Lots of issues but its what we do. If they are willing to pay to bring things up to speed then it's rewarding. We'd taken over a few grocery stores that were acquired by long time costumers and I always enjoyed digging in and bringing it up to speed. At least they had E2's! Nice work and enjoy your videos. 👍🏻
Thank you for the feedback, I appreciate you taking the time to watch the videos. I have recently started working with some danfoss controllers and I do not like those. That chain of stores is a real disaster.
Good video Rick . Wonder if that freezer has problems with heaters or defrost termination . Looks like it tripped the breaker while on defrost, makes me think either heaters or termination switch . Also One Shot 417C won’t cut it , R-409 might . Ice on the floor , drain heater not working or clogged drain . Just Run 🏃 run , run !!!!
Hey RIck! Howdy! Looks like you found your home for the next few weeks! IF they spend the money, which, by the look of the equipment I personally wonder about. Who knows. Maybe they're realizing they can't just wing it any longer and still have an operational cooler and a freezer?! Impressed some of that gear made it that long in those conditions! They sure made that stuff bulletproof back in the day.... And repairable.... a bit. Seems to me it's time for the 21st century....
Sometimes it takes someone to lay out the facts and build a case that shows them this is the way up avoid more issues down the line and save future money if it's done correctly.
I'll use them but I'm not a big fan of those penn mechanical thermostats as I've run into those temperature inaccuracy issues with those too so you gotta play with them. I like the digital ones but I know you can't always run them with the wiring/load set up
But of a mess ey ! And it had to be single phase too huh ! I'm guessing with the wrong fan rotation , the lack of airflow on the condensing unit , and no pump down, the compressor was probably over amping on start ups innit ? Good vid mate 👍
Just curious couldn’t you just change the rotation with those “rotation wires” on condenser motors?? Even though they look like evap blower motors!!Thanks
If I walked into this.... I would tell the customer that I would ONLY replace all the equipment, otherwise I would not touch with a 20’ pole.... too much of a liability and risk of something going wrong and causing major headaches for me AND the customer. I would also re-locate the condensers.
We quoted replacing the WIC evap and adding a solenoid, total new freezer, repositioning the cooler condenser to blow out the back and adding a vent fan system sized for the application. By building trust with these new customers hopefully we will see the job approved. If not I told them what was wrong and noted it all on my paperwork so I'm not worried about taking it on. I've had worse 😁. Thanks 4 watching 👍👍
Looks like they broke down and called the correct tech, for a change. After seeing that, sure am glad that I retired. Good luck on that one, and be safe.
We take it all on. They were very appreciative and these was new business owners that were building this business up from nothing to something in these times of total chaos. I wanted to help anyway I could.
@@HVACRSurvival oooooo but trust me... i've seen it all Friday i had a call for a 4 door freezer icing up non stop i went there.. the side wall fell so the put coco nuts to hold the wall.. lol and they said its been like that for months and don't trust me lol that i said they need a new freezer
Your in a no win situation my friend. They need a new walk in cooler/freezer, not just an equipment upgrade, but i am sure they already knew that, just didn't put money away for R&M. Good luck!
I get cold chills when i see you spinning those fan blades with your bare hands without making sure the equipment is locked-out. I would try to brake that habbit for your own good..

At least a 1992-93 area when the climate change laws came into effect. You can search for Montreal protocol if you want to know the exact date . It might be older than that?
Who would put this partially enclosed, they do have hot weather in OH? Crazy stuff your see with HVAC installs just about always end up costing customer $ to run.
Man i would even know how to work on something like that. Im too early in the game. All i would know how to do is say get a new unit or rip everything out and hook it up right.
I understand what you saying but sometimes they don't have the money to do that, as long as there willing to fix it right I'll do it or they take on the responsibility of future failures.
You can flip the armature around but the leads will be near the blades. You can also swap the start and run leads on capacitor but I'm not sure what the amperage will do.

With all the ice on the floor in freezer. Think the condensate drain plugged?
No they said it only happened when they kept the door open. It condensated from the temp difference.

How old is this system, if it is using R12?
