And had it not been for the depraved imp Rumple, it would have been more than the measly decade of abandonment (because his daddy wanted to reunite with him and forced Emma to go to NYC, which is the ONLY reason she saw Neal again). You're right with that emoji in that Neal/Bae broke Emma's heart... her fragile, naive, hopeful heart that had not known real love EVER, and he claimed to understand her, yet he was quick to abandon her anyway which is why she walled herself off from love from the moment he left her. In the words of Emma "I had hoped you were dead." yeah... not so much the "I miss you" :P IDK how anyone could miss that guy. It's like missing Pan. Yeah he was good for drama and strife but basically f*cked with the emotions of everyone who claimed to love him in the past. SMH. Baffles the mind how anyone would miss that unless they hated Emma Swan. :/
This story line was the first one I absolutely disliked, I did enjoy Dark Swan just not killing Killian. I mean sometimes once writers discard storylines like Will in Storyebrook, the writers kind of forget they have written lines like "true love can break any curse" (untrue) & (Cruella was evil that was born and not made, that was never discussed), and they forget to explain things (like bam Ruby has magic bean are there more magic beans.) However, it seems all the staff writers from Buffy that now work on this show were like sure let's redo this Angel/Buffy story all over again. Get fresh ideas, so Annoyed.

+RIta L Its about Emma, since the its always been about Emma as she is protagonist. And this season its focusing on her love story (since we already saw focus on her son, her parents, magic, friendships in all the seasons)! Now its her love story which right deserves time and focus!
+midnight blue season one of Once was the best season solely because it was focused on Emma and Regina. ever since they upped hook into a main character, the show's been going downhill. I'd prefer Neil over hook and that's saying something, cause I don't like Neil either.
