Do you want a wonder bread he-man?
I do!
You could do a whole show just about that!
We’ve covered it in about 4 videos now haha
The storie's about Wonderbread He-Man's real origin are fascinating.
Definitely 😢
Toy Federation videos are becoming my comfort watch. Love the editing style, the content, and how chill y’all are.
Glad you like them!
Dude beat me to it. Props to the cameraman for giving us these treats. I got excited when we went down the toy aisle.@@toyfederation
Check out his youtube channel! @teenagemutantninjaturtlestube
Ryan's brain works so fast. Love that dude! Plays it cool, never insulting, always in his right lane as the store owner.
I always think that about Ryan’s demeanor. Definitely on the level. Ryan do you ever have a bad day?? 😅
@@TheSlider Right? you'd think that buddah ability to be so calm yet forthright would let all the leftover weird feelings melt away
Came into the store over the weekend for my birthday trip, traded in some stuff, got exactly the trade value I was expecting, and got some great pieces I’d wanted. Thanks for a great experience!
Happy birthday!
Nice of that guy to explain to the audience, that you arent ripping people off, but running a business which has to pay rent, taxes and so on. You have to pay way less than the market price to make it work.
Yes the only reasons you should deal with a retail shop is 1.) you need cash quick. 2.) you trade for something they have that’s hard to find. Otherwise you are taking way less than you could get otherwise.
@@cerd6292
For sure. And another reason would be the item is so freakin' huge, you're just better off selling it to the store than trying to ship it. I live near the store, so thinking about bringing in my Sideshow V1 1/6 scale Jabba & throne, and maybe my 1/6 Panzer II tank.
@@cerd6292 I wouldn't say "way" less cash. Selling on an online platform there is always the risk of losing the item AND the money if the buyer is a crook, or the item is lost in the mail. I had a carded Ghost Rider rack toy that was an easy $300. I turned down an offer from a toy store for $200 thinking I could do better with an auction online. Ended up north of $300 which was great, but I shipped the toy and the buyer claimed I didn't pack it correctly and it was "damaged". He sent a picture to the platform of an entirely different, water damaged, creased, card and damaged toy that had probably been a place filler in their collection. Bingo, the platform finds against me I'm out not only the toy, but I am forced to refund the money. This drags out for weeks. You have NO idea how much I wish I had taken the $200 from the local toy store. :(
People who think he's ripping off folks have clearly never ran a business because he pays a lot for inventory
@@lyrilmtv2428inventory is still only a small part of the overheads of running that business
It hurts me to hear him say he is broke at 50 because of bad decisions. I worry that'll be me. I wish him the best.
Happened to me due to a divorce and vindictive ex wife at 40. At least I have time to rebuild
This show is becoming my new Saturday morning tradition 😊
Helped this football season with how shitty my Uni has been.
@@Soloman_Gumball i don't wanna think of college football for awhile.. FSU fan 😪
@@CopMorty You're getting into the power 2 eventually though. My school will not.
Almost hits like Saturday morning cartoons
Ha we hear this comment so much and I love it
I love this dude so much. I bet his toy store was something to see. I kinda wish he would start his own UA-cam channel.
I have learnt so much since watching this channel I have a huge collection of toys, comics and such in my small English terraced house every room is full to the ceiling boxed, unboxed as well. It brings happiness and joy to me reminding me of my childhood in the 70s onwards. I also pass some stuff on to fellow collectors at reasonable prices so everyone’s a winner especially the toys cheers 🍻
That is awesome!
Another viewer from England over here too - I have the small terraced house but sadly only a tiny collection of comics and toys
This is one of my favorite episodes yet. I learned a ton not only about some toy lines but how you should treat long term great customers. Thanks for continuing to share your business and interactions with us. Hope you guys are having a terrific holiday season!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Super cool. I love seeing these vintage toys, it brings me back to my childhood. Thanks for sharing as always Toy Federation.
Thanks for watching!
you know it will be a less painful interaction when the customer says " I hope to get half retail" . I still learn alot watching this too, especially how you would factor in a bad box for that shogun
Just found out about you guys from Retro Rick. You guys are a awesome channel!!! Much love
❤
The "Wonder Bread" He Man did not come with the black Zodak Armor. I have one and it only came packaged with two maroon weapons. The other maroon weapons were repacks that came with Man E Faces. The black armor was from the weapons pack.
Toy people are so cool. Love hearing you guys talk toys while I sit here in the clock
This channel/show is so good. I love seeing and learning about these retro toys.
Glad you enjoy it!
16:01 Wow! The super mecha on the left is Daimos. Very popular here in my country because of its Anime series back in the '80s.
Love it!! Lots of good memories in this episode. I remember the Mint Wagon from a comic book ad too!
Love this channel these gentlemen are the salt of the earth. What makes America a great place is honest down to earth people
Wow! Thanks!
This guy is legit. I want to know what he does for a living to get so knowledgeable and have such cool toys.
He said in the video he use to run a store, it's the reason he knows the prices and so on.
Gobots might have been less popular than transformers, but I think they're just as awesome
Agreed!
Your videos provide a sense of relief that assure our toy collecting community that its not all toxic and that not everyone is a culture vulture, waiting to take advantage on the unaware or misinformed. You provide insight and more importantly, a fair deal. You're a role model of a businessman and human being. Keep up the great work 👍🏾 Wishing you continued success and may peace be upon you and your team ✌🏾
No jokes glad you put that last part in so people can understand that you have a small business to run with employees, bills, inventory, etc. In my opinion instead of people selling on ebay or other platforms they definitely do a lot better trading with you. I highly believe in supporting local businesses.
Thanks for watching til the very end!
I like repurposed toys . The He man motu slime pit weirdly got promoted as a accessory for King Arthur and the knights of justice toy line but never was produced
My goodness, those Shogun Warriors look great. I wished I could collect em, but they're out of my price range.
Ryan, I'm always impressed how cool you are with people that bring in stuff. You're super generous with your deals.
Totally wished I was closer to you guys.
Love this show, which is becoming a morning tradition for me. The interactions, all the knowledge shared, it's just awesome. Hooked on the podcast too!
One fine day I hope to visit the store, my next trip to the States (from the Netherlands) I will make sure Toy Federation is on my itinerary.
Damn the Shogun Warriors Dragon and Daimos look super tempting.
Wow, I remember that big Voltron. This guy had some amazing Chogokin pieces! Also, the Wonder Bread He-man! 💥
I have the weapons set! I was under the impression the maroon weapons were packed with a low run Man-e-Faces (called Man-e-Weapons in the community)?
God I love when this guy comes in, a former business rival and FRIEND. Now that's how you know these are good people.
Plus I'm from Virginia and living in Hawaii so I miss those accents.
This has genuinely become my favorite UA-cam channel and I don't collect toys : )
Thank you so much! Love hearing that!
This was another cool episode. I remember seeing the Mint Truck in the back of a Star Wars catalog, and I thought it was cool looking, but I never saw one for sale. That whole Butch & Sundance line came and went pretty fast, if I remember correctly. But in answer to your question, the Shogun Warriors Jumbo Machinder that was released in Europe was UFO Robo Grendizer, but it was called Goldrake in Europe. We got the smaller Grendizer with the saucer ship in the states which was called the Solar Saucer. The Grail jumbo piece is the Saucer for the Jumbo Grendizer which little kids could actually ride on! IMO, Chris is an awesome guest and should definitely appear in more episodes.
Oh he’s in more!
Nice to see an old fellow like myself. I would LOVE to see that guy's collection. I'd imagine he has a lot of stuff that I've forgotten about.
He’s sold us most of it!
Another excellent episode! I definitely need to take a trip to the store in 2024!
Learned from other sites the original wonderbread he man did not come with any body armour and just two weapons apparently.
I really love how reasonalbe and understanding this guy is about the toy market. I found an old Kenner Pilot Luke over the summer at a sale and I was really excited to buy it as it was terribly beaten up, the paint on the face was missing, the paint on the torso was mostly scratched off, and the feet and hands were chewed up. It was perfect for me because I wanted to create a custom Y-wing pilot like Gold Leader. When I asked them how much, they replied "$20, FIRM"! I was thinking $2 was generous for something like this, but most people see old toys especially Star Wars as something with huge value, and don't understand condition is really important to the value. Also, it might be a really rare item, but if the market isn't interested it's just not worth that much.
I've mostly given up figure collecting right now because of this, but I'll still find some good deals here and there, and hunting for some of the items is half of the fun :)
I Love shogun warriors!!! Way before my time but the aesthetic is everything
Ryan you and Travis should host a podcast, let the world in on your incredible knowledge thanks for the great content From Canada!!!
I just discovered these videos and I'm hooked! I've been collecting toys since 1996 when I was in high school so this is my kind of show...Godzilla, Jurassic Park and now oddly Fortnite are my favorite things to collect....
i love the way this man pronnounces Starriors. I would listen to him on a podcast talk about old toys
If you guys like the videos, you have to go to their store. My son and I started going years ago when they were across the street from their current location. The inventory is amazing, and the staff is top notch.
I love seeing gobots.
Also that tom cruise top gun maverick t shirt is awesome
Seemed like a good guy. I liked the announcement he made at the end about you running a business etc., which is not always obvious to people.
Yep!
Really enjoying this. Thanks for filming! Saturdays must be stressful with lots of trades and customer questions.
Another great video! You always talk about what sells and what moves slow, I think it would be interesting to hear from you guys what is moving the best at your store. Almost like a monthly recap of what’s selling.
This is actually a cool idea, then again, I just greedily want more content lol. At the same time as a non collector it would be cool to see what is currently "hot".
Most likely would be the same things though, TMNT JOE, Transformers etc.
I see Toy Fed post a video. I click and get instantly happy. Thank you very much.
Enjoy!
I love this channel. I don’t know anything about classic toys and it’s just very cool to see and learn
That’s awesome!
Knowledgeable vintage toy collectors are extremely no nonsense.
It's a very interesting episode. Wonder Bread is from the Northeast, correct ? I remember it as a kid. What did Wonderbread and Mattel have a promotion going on ??
Wonderbread never put out a He-Man figure. They only did a MOTU trading cards promotion.
sweet for him to say "when I die than my daughter supposed to bring it to you" you really do got the best customers
It'll probably end up at a yard sale where someone will pick it up for like $5 lmao
He always brings cool things in. Great vid as always.
Always love seeing that figure! The myth behind it is so fun
Those Shogun Warriors are awesome! If I lived anywhere near this store I would never leave.
Just woooooow on these gems foreal n especially that heman was amazing to see... thank u for these beautiful gems to see 💪🏾💪🏾 more n more content is the goal
Great talk at the end. For me, it's always better to do business with the local dealer and walk out with your cash in hand. Are you getting top dollar? Of course not. But hopefully you've paid a fair enough price that you're making something. Leave some room for profit for the next guy/gal and walk out with cash in hand. Keeps the hobby fun and keeps the stuff circulating. Another great video from Toy Federation.
Well said!
this is my new favorite channel. more content please.
I loved zoids when i was a kid, model kit and toy in one!
Love that guy! He collects really cool stuff!
Agreed!
How many of the wonder bread He-man truly existed? Very awesome grail, that’s not for sale. Marvel at it and reproduce it. Thank you for your content.
Thanks for watching!
As many as people can make
"When I die my daughters supposed to bring it to you"😂 a real collector indeed.👌 over his dead body lol.
That action figure has one heck of a build on him
Perfectly asthetic
Very nice
Oh my god, it's called ROBO STRUX?! I've been wondering what that toy was for almost 40 years now. My dad went to Japan for a business meeting (he worked for ROLM in San Jose), and came back with some cool robot model toys for me and my brother. They came in a bag and the instructions were in Japanese, so we had no idea how to put them together. We had the stegosaurus and the brontosaurus. We went across the street to my friend's house and had so much fun trying to put it together. All I could remember about it as I got older was that you built it like a snap-fit model, and used the little rubber knobs that's you put on the joints to hold it together. Oh, and it had a little metal dude that'd sit in the head, which I thought was the coolest feature outside of the motor and gears. _NO ONE_ I ever talked to ever remembered the toy, so I had just assumed it was a Japan-only toy all these years.
Known as Zoids in some regions.
This is my Saturday morning cartoons. When they actually get a backroom with tables to go through this people are gonna fall of their rockers. Would make a great studio with all the stuff layed out.
Great episode
Them Shogun Warriors
Wow, I had a few when I was a kid
I remember in my twenties goings to the flee market and selling for ten dollars
Boy, im kicking myself
Thank you for another great episode
All the coolest toys are from the 80s
Most wholesome trade I've seen yet
Was manta force toy line ever released in the u.s ?
AN OTHER GREAT SHOW!! YOU ALL JUST KEEP NOCKING THEM OUT OF THE PARK!!!! THANK YOU 4 ALL YOU ALL'S HARD WORK!! AND THANK'S 2 ALL OF U 4 BRING US ALL SOOOOOO MUCH JOY AND HAPPYNESS!!!!!❤😂😊👍🙏🎅 ALL OF YOU, PLEASE HAVE A GREAT AND JOYUS CHRISTMAS!!!!!🎅🎅🎅🎅🎅
Thank you!
Ahh Zoids. I remember 4th grade when I got hit by a car and broke my leg, then having to have it rebroken because they set it wrong. After the second leg set, I put together a Spider Zoid in the recovery room. Fun times.
I had some of those old school Zoids this channel makes me really really regret not preserving some of my stuff
Damn, I wish I still had my Raydeen and Dragun. Got them both one year for Christmas.
It's a shame somebody so knowledgeable isn't active in the day to day retro toy market anymore.
Great episode
Loved the episode some great items there for sure
What was your favorite?
That he-man was awesome but I really liked that Western stuff. Would love to see a video if you ever complete the set
Oh yea! Its super cool
Love this channel ❤……..you should make a feature length documentary for tv!! 🤔👍
As i always say love the vintage stuff shogen warriors are awesome
Yes they are!
I get the lower offers when you have a store to run. I just hate the people who pester folks selling things to sell them for pennies on the dollar when they know damn well the things are worth hundreds or thousands and they are really ripping people off at their yard sales. Its like the greed is insane in some of the people out there.
One of my favourite youtube series toy federation 💯
Thanks so much! Always amazing to hear that!
I don’t care about toys never played with toys but these videos are so entertaining
Hey Ryan, what do you think of all those GI Joe pre-orders on Thursday .Hasbro firing on all cylinders with the Joe line.
Anyone have more info on the Voltron?
I have one from my childhood, full stickers, bottom rolling assembly with controller. I'm missing the sword(maybe have it) and the wings. I've always just had in a plastic tub for the last 35+ years
Got to love Saturdays
Dammit, I wanna go back so bad!!
Come on!
Never Technozoids (as I knew them) were also called Robostrux. And then they got shortened to Zoids for some reason. Interesting. That one reminds me a bit of Trypticon.
Has a few real good pieces the savage he man isn't to bad definitely would love another 1
Wish we had a shop like this in the uk
Wonder if hes sold any of those minimates I brung him a month ago
Reason why I want to go to SC is to visit Toy Federation.
The fact that evil bay drives the collection market is nuts to me. Whatnot needs to start tracking sold listing on live auctions.
question! I worked at Mcdonalds 16 years ago or so. The toy at the time was a series of toys, every month a new one would come out to the public. the toy was a soft miniature stuffed animal version of known dog breeds.. each month a different dog with realistic looks and only a few inches tall, as a stuffed toy (don't know the name off hand and there not in front of me). So I collected them for a few months. At the McDonalds I was at, we had all the months set away in the back room and would bring them out as the month called for them. and I grabbed a complete set of dogs that I still have today. the reason I grabbed a complete set is because, before we could sale them for every month that was advertised there was a recall on them. so only so many of the set was actually sold to the public. I don't have the toys in front of me right now and only am commenting because I came across your channel. do you know anything about a line of toy dogs from Mcdonalds in the 90s or early 2000s that this happened to, and if so. is there any value in things like that or for them in particular? kept them for many years still in the package because they were cool. so perhaps that could pay of. I don't know much about them, if not oh well.
Good stuff by the way and keep up the good work
I used to love my Daimos , he would battle my Secret Wars figures
Was great to see someone with the same knowledge and love as the owner.
I still have my WB He-man and it's still in the plastic bag it was shipped in. I had two, one I opened and played with. but that one is long gone. My mom used to send away for Food promo stuff all the time. I have a Lone Ranger pack from Cheerios and an E.T. pack with Michael Jackson's and E.T. posters. Edit: I still have my Chex fruit Rubix cube too :P
Nice
Love this show!
They do good rats love them to😂
Love this channel so much!
This guy knows his stuff
I love this channel !!
that guy is wearing the coolest godzilla hat ever
The playset your talking about is the real west western cafe from 1980.
I had one of those shoguns as a kid! My god, memories. No idea what happened to it tho unfortunately
Oh no!
Love this show so much
Thanks so much!
