I found this chanel shortly after my dog - my Baby - died a few months ago and it has helped me with my grief because my Baby was insatiabley curious like the otters all 14 years of her life. One year I grew tiny beets in a pot outside my house. She was outside the day I went to harvest them and she wouldn't leave me alone - she had to sniff the beets when I pulled them from the soil, sniff the beet greens before I threw them away, followed me into the house and stared at me intently as I washed and peeled the beets, had to sniff them one more time before I put them in the cooking pot and, once they were cooked, she yipped as I walked into the living room until I sat down on the floor and fed her the beets. Funny though, she never cared for beets after that...it was just something new and exciting to her.
Those cuties know ... nothing compares with the caring, nurturing of a loving dad. Kotaro does not mind his paws being massaged - those body parts are used to being handled and percussion in the form of walking, jumping. The stomach, face, neck, etc. not so much. It seems they feel it is too intense. Of course, they can cuddle to dad's touch - what otter would prefer cuddling to a 'miniature jackhammer' ? LOL...
