I Love the part it says "I just had a bubble of this ocean that made me unconcise" imagine swimming in the ocean. I had no idea getting into this (meaning loving God) will breaks me apart. listening to this poem/song over hundred times still not enough.
I get the feeling that he’s talking about life . That life can take us through many trials and tribulations without us knowing why . That we don’t. Know what could destroy us within seconds yet we don’t know the answer to any thing that could or does happen to our body and souls .
Until now I have only read Rumi poetry. Now to experience it through this incredible artist is magical. Your reaction appreciates both artists. Peace J
Beautiful song - both the vocal and the instrumental. Both are haunting and have a texture to them that would make a phenomenal movie score. Thank you for including subtitles. I will be listening to this more than once, that's for sure!
This poem is by Rumi, experts think about what he is saying for years and years and everyone comes up with different answers, some say that this poem is describing a person who is trying to know god, and his whole life (the ocean) gets devistated after knowing just a little bit, all his beliefs (the ship) fall down, and his life turns into a desert and he gets pulled into insanity, and as u told song is somehow confusing and hypnotising to give u a little bit of the confusion and etc. that the guy mentioned above is feeling
Thanks Reza jan for your Explanations, i guess he meant this is somehow hypnotising, cause Homayoun sing the float grab me and he said no man your sound grab me, somehow pictured his sound as a float.
Wow, your understanding of the song was really good, even some Persians sometimes have problems translating complexity of Rumi's poems, this song especially, kudos to you!
I am Persian. This song is about falling in love with God which is wonderful and painful at the same time. In fact, this song is kind of prayers. Talking to God and saying how wonderful is when you feel emotional stress and anxiety caused by love when you are making love to God and trying to reach him. You know these kinds of subjects are not easy to explain....
I'm persian too , man it's not about god !!! it's about just falling in pure love , please don't put idea that mullah's and sheikh's says , its like a paint or movie or statue or a dance , everyone could have his own vision about it my friend
I have been waiting for an Afghani to turn up and tell us all that Rumi was not Persian but Afghani, because Balkh is now in that made up country called Afghanistan. I leave the Turks alone for now.

I'm for sure so happy and proud to be understanding persian language and can feel the music. There's a lot of spirit both in the poem and music, one should know the culture and the history to fully enjoy it . It's so rich in poem ( rumi) ,a great voice and great composer . Just love it .
The mystry of Rumi poem, the magic of Homayoun voice and the incredible composition of song...what a perfect combination. Wonderful...when I listen to this song, I envision myself flying over the earth... I recommend you to listen to TASNIFE GHOLAB by HOMAYOUN as well.
Great job bro. Please react to his Iraneman. He does an absolutely amazing job of combining classic Iranian music with western operatic music which is remarkable and very tastefully done not to mention unusual. Thanks for the great job. I am a huge fan!
All I can do is cry ….. every emotion …. Every experience runs through my soul … I want to reach out to GOD and ask him why ??? Why was I born ??? Why an I so lonely ???? I can’t even put it into words !
This Homayoun Shajarian is the son of the great master of our country Iran, Mohammad Reza Shajarian, the great man of Iranian history. Unfortunately, he passed away some time ago and made all the people of Iran sad. He became eternal in the history of the eternal world with his heavenly voice. He taught singing to Homayoun. And now we hear his powerful celestial and beautiful voice that is unparalleled in the world. I suggest you the song (Shatak)(.Vokoli)(koly.)( Bazme to)
I really enjoyed it as an Iranian, this song really gives a different feeling to me, I felt like I was walking in the desert with flowing sand next to a small lake With palm trees and with camels
The voice goes through the skin and runs in the blood and pierces in the bones which explodes and gives such a strong emotion at the same time makes u drunk!!!
Hi, Thank you many times for your heart felt reaction. Boy listening to his voice lifts me up to heaven with tears. Lyrics are all about love between him and his creator...it is soo deep that must be described in vast persian language to do just.
my picture: sitting around the fire with my friends right in the middle of beautiful deserts of Yazd (beautiful city in Iran) looking at stars just chillin... cause it gives a smooth opposite sense with the rivers and oceans in music, gives me the goosebumps! How world can be complicated?!
You Got it just right it is about Life we Do not live in , We Get Dissolved in it's fancy and short waves of the ocean and desert that eventually neither remains. Not the Problems nor the Boons !

Translation of the poem (Che Danestam):
How could I know?
This desire would drive me so insane,
Turn my heart into an inferno,
Flood my eyes with a deluge
--------------------------------------------
How could I know?
A torrent
Would carry me so sudden
And Throw me like a ship
Amidst an ocean of blood
And strike that ship with a wave
That would break every plank
And each plank would fall
In divergent spins
--------------------------------------------
A leviathan would then raise its head
And drink all the water
And such endless ocean
Would turn dry like a desert
--------------------------------------------
When these changes came to pass
Neither ocean remained nor desert
And I know not why
For this uncertain is drowned in the absolute
--------------------------------------------
Questions are abound
Yet I know none
For I drank in this sea, a morsel
From the opiate of silence

Hi from Iran, This is a poem by a fifth century poet (Rumi), in ancient Persian language. It’s full of metaphor, But you almost guessed what it meant.
