After getting used to how slow a glider can fly and landing close to your feet many times it is not such a big step to take a hand off the stick and grab it, in smooth conditions.
@@r.p.3192 OK, keep speed on the approach yes but if you touchdown at stall speed then groundspeed can be almost zero so that is the easiest time to catch.

@@helithopter Ah I wouldn’t dare as my approach speeds are even with full butterfly way too high…

@@helithopter I’ll try with the sub 2kg ORDEN as my Needles are too heavy and too fast even with butterfly and blown off energy… Cheers!
