We are getting buried (snow) in the Highlands up near the border. With forecast showing another week of this, we could be on track for most snow in a decade.
@@loganfishbeard I love deep snow. The only real challenge is keeping the equipment running. I own a 1982 frontend loader with chains on all four corners. Already had the fuel pump go last week. Now the double valve at the break pedal is leaking, so I've been plowing without touching the brakes, tricky in the mountains with sheer drops on one side of the road, the side you want to push the snow off. : P

Hoquiam Resident! And I actually reside next to the Bowerman Airport and Holy Shnickeys were those Gusts CRAZY! Thank you again Michael for the amazing updates and views of all these Models and Sattelite Views for us who can't afford to have our own Weather Station.
That rain this morning! It sounded like thunder! It was like water just falling from the sky, like a giant bucket just being emptied out! Never in 55years of living in the Seattle area I’ve never seen anything like it! Crazy! My street was flooding
We got nailed by the storm in millcreek this morning. Parking lot looked like a river, gutters on the building were over flowing then the hail looked like a sheet of ice on the ground, and the wind gusts with the onslaught of that much rain, looked like a blizzard without the snow. Just wow!😮
Can not believe that our power stayed on thru the night! It was SO gusty here to the east of Kelso overnight and still blowing this morning. Ordered our Tempest weather station yesterday, looking forward to getting it set up before the new year.
Good morning. Look forward to your report every morning. My sister & and family watch you every day. This is the best weather reporting & and we've ever learned a heck of alot more than we ever knew! Awesome graphics! There is no damage here in the Silverton hills! Have a great day!
The wind was so loud this morning in Sooke BC. I dont know how we have power and the rain was insane. I was up checking our pond and drains at 3am out in the mess. It was awful. I love storms but it was so loud I couldnt sleep really.
We got absolutely blasted by the westerly surge here in the foothills outside of sultan. That was the strongest one we have had since the november 2022 westerly surge
Rocked us really good here on east side of Sultan. In rv, definitely not fun or restful! But I think the huge windstorm a few weeks ago that had everyone loosing power was worse.
Oil Co's and your generous local fuel station love ya for it,, your a giving sacrifical individual,,, and of course staying warm I hope. I have 2 of those gas guzzlers and a wood stove. Totally off grid here,, so I empathize not critize with you. Thank God I am at 5200ft in the Cascades, cause I CAN'T GET OUT! "snowed in". But cold enough I don't need the gen too keep my freezer running. It's staying at 27F. daytime reading. MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Out here on the Key Peninsula powers been out for me since 05:15. Got a wood fire going and water heating up on it. Wind seems to be dying down. Wasn’t to bad at 4am when I got up but between 5am and 7am it was bad.
At around five this morning I was awakened by loud and I mean LOUD rain pounding the front porch roof outside my bedroom window. Is there such a thing as super sized raindrops? In the mix of meteorological mayhem loud thunder booms momentarily drowned out the sound of the pounding rain!
Heavy rain here in n. Idaho east of Spokane all nite. Rained what snow had away. Big wind gusts here too. A couple were killed when a tree came down on highway 2 sadly.
Gentle frontal systems love the comments describing weather is the greatest! This is why we love your channel & making it fun to listen too! A sense of humor is needed getting thru these winter months!
Two "gentle" storms followed by five storms for a total of seven systems on GFS; four Euro storms after the gentle ones...but the four Euro storms appear more atmospheric and sustained.
Welp dang our ice fishing season in Eastern Oregon and idaho is over before it even really got started... Cascade idaho where we fish has been getting dumped on off and on since Saturday.. 2 feet of snow on 6 inches of ice sucks..
Out here in Carnation we lost power for a shot time. My wife said it was raining very hard and windy but I slept through the entire thing! Love your channel
We've had good east winds here 3 miles north east of Arlington for 2 days, then at 5 this morning a huge blast from the west was so cool! Great early update Michael
Im in charleston, Oregon and the winds were very very strong and sustained! I live at the top of a Ridgeline at the start of a giant forest and it was pretty crazy. I got to say.
No wind in Yakima, not even breezy but we did get drenched in cold rain all night, until this morning now it's nothing but sunshine and warm, 53f right now. I sure hope January is endless snow
That gust front was a doozie! Saw multiple transformer flashes, and we had lightning. The wind was the strongest I’ve felt since 2006 in my area. Interesting the the hrrr was the only model to pick up the gust front.
I love your reports because I am a pilot one, but you deal with the PNW solely. I live in Vancouver, WA. You sort of talk about us, but it gives me a great heads-up
It’s getting more and more clear that in the face of climate change and these regular wind storms, the region really needs to start pumping money into getting power lines underground. Trees just grow too fast here and fall to easily for us to face these regularly, with power lines falling every storm.
The rain around 5am was NOT normal weather. I’ve lived near Seattle 54 years and have NEVER seen any thing what I heard and watched out my window this morning!!!!

I know dealing with excessive snow sucks but as a fisherman, big mountain snow pack is music to my ears as it is vital to keeping our rivers healthy.
