I don't know what you saw on Dell's site - probably the 2408WFP, on this 2407WFP those connectors are labeled USB; USB cables plug in there (the "square" one connects to the PC) and the devices work.
Fantastic. And with 2 monitors side by side, the image quality & color matched right out of the box; no tweaking necessary like with the last 2 monitors I had.
My 3 1/2 yr old Dell 24" just died with no warning yesterday. Total black out and no power light/connection. No problem up till now. Back to using my old basic backup computer & 16" CRT monitor purchased 2001 until repairs can be made. :(
I'd also be keen to find out what a 2408WFP is like, purely from a gaming aspect. I have a 8800GTS, 2 GB corsair DDR2 800mhz ram, and a 5600+ AMD cpu. I've heard mixed reviews abuot its response time, just wondering if it is really obvious, ghosting wise etc.
I just got a 19" version of this monitor, and the stand is locked in the furthest down position. I believe the horizontal button on the back of the stand is supposed to unlock it so I can slide it up, but nothing happens. Are you supposed to press down on the button extremely hard in order to get it to slide? I feel like like I've pushed it rather hard, am afraid to continue for the fear of breaking it. Thanks.

Actually there might be a speaker bar that you can buy separately and attach to the bottom if interested.
The current 2408 is VERY similar, just a few more connectivity features.
I think the 2408WFP comes with HDMI; Dell's website has full specs.

Where did you get that data? I'm not a gamer anymore, but this monitor is fantastic for everything else. I have 2 on my desk.
when are you going to do the 2408? I just bought one and while i'm waiting for it i'd love to see a review for it on here! Thanks much
The new model 2408WFP hooks up to almost anything. Go to Dell's site for complete details and photos of the hookups. I think you will be pleased.
Dell's site has the full specs on both
Should be easy to do.
Call Dell, you may likely have advance replacement warranty, in which case a new one will be on your doorstep tomorrow.

There is a cable from the USB port on your PC to the monitor

Can I use this monitor with an ATI HD 5870?
Not in my opinion... but it all goes by personal preference.
You may save some money on a smaller model.

No 24 inch for me it's way too big. I prefer a 21.5 inch widescreen.
AGhhhh my left ear!
