Because in Super Mario World- Mario is still vulnerable to being crushed, burned by lava, and dying by falling in pits. It's not an oversight tho, the original devs never designed any level to have Mario walking into danger after level completion.
The gray platform glitch can only be done with TAS. And about Cataclysm, I don't have the desire to do TAS on it nor the time, as I have many other projects to be done.
