hi I have LG projector model Bs275 stuck on standby, checked logic board by applying external 12v and 5v it comes on ,but power supply only gives 5 v ,missing 385v and 12v,tried to check components everything seems to be okay, could you be having schematic? how can you advice?
Thanks very much for your video, it's very good repairment video. For the flickery in the video, is this a drawback for DLD projector? I think the 3-LCD system hasn't such kind of flickery, is it good to eye?
Yes, if it’s a DLP LED projector, LED is just a light source, the random dots on the screen are caused by DMD chip, I suggest taking the DMD out just like in my video and have a look at the surface of the DMD, if it has random tiny dots then you need to replace it, if it’s perfect like a mirror then DMD is good, you’ll need to look through magnifying glass.
You’d have to remove the DMD from your projector, on the back of DMD you’ll find the number, simply go to AliExpress and search that number, you’ll find the DMD replacements.
Hi, you need to open the projector and remove the old DMD chip, it will have the number on it something like “8060-6038B”. You can take this number and ether Google it or search on eBay, they cost anywhere from $60-$100 AUD.

I haven’t got schematic for it, they usually dual power supply so there’s one for standby power and secondary for the rest of the circuit. Check secondary power supply, cold me smps chip on power supply or check diodes , those power supply’s very similar to computer power supply’s
Hi, i cannot find any replacement for my dmd chip as it is a projector with just a few units sold (Anker Mars) Does a video or imagine pattern can help un stuck rhe mirrors? At least make it better? Thank you
Get the old one out of the projector and there will be number on the DMD chip, search it in AliExpress. You could also try eBay but I find it more expensive there.
@smolbodybuilder1602 see if numbers closely match and they’re same pin configuration and same resolution and look the same. Sometimes numbers slightly different as it could be newer version
@@MaxELECTRONICS thanks for your feedback, may i ask a tech question please: i trying to rejuvenate a W1070 after OEM lamp explosion, all cleaned good and in good place, color wheel turn and start ok, 385V at ballast, unfortunately i only have cheap no name lamp (200Mohms). Image is flickering like creasy with a blurry out of focus range aspect, menu is unreadable, i can distinguish Music note menu, etc. and the menu lines but impossible to read text inside as there was nothing. do you think poor lamp capable of that problem? Thanks
Yes that’s possible, Is the Lamp itself flickering? I’d check the lamp and ballast if the lamp is flickering.check that all connections to the lamp are good.(while powered off)
@@MaxELECTRONICSthanks for your answer. just image lamp is not flickering but it is now dead (1mn usage show 9Mohms instead of infinite resistance) so it's not accepted anymore LAMP RED flashing wich is a good thing for ballast protection. When lamp was lighting BENQ menu was apearing and disapearing from blue to some sort of white screen. Will test with OSRAM lamp with fingers crossed
Sounds like a bad connection between board and DMD chip , also check strobe sensor on colour wheel (it’s a black line that rotates pass optical sensor on colour wheel rotor)
@@MaxELECTRONICS I guess I will find out! I just ordered a new replacement DMD for my JVC LX-NZ3W. Hopefully i can find a teardown of that or use your vids to best-guess my way through DLP disassembly 😅
How did it go? I have a customer with an NZ3 that is only about 2 years old. They started getting spots in the corner. If it went well, where did you get your chip from? @@TechandDoc
You can find them easily on AliExpress, when you get the old DMD out, you’ll find a number on the back of it, search for that number on AliExpress, they usually around $70-80
Thank you very much for this tutorial, I can repair my videoprojector with success ! Keep it up the great job :D
The video I've been looking for 😭😭😭😭

Very informative
very interesting. good. very helpful. takes the mystery out the toy, and DIY saves $$
I like this channel
very good👌👍
What type of TIM (Thermal Interface Material) did you use for the heat sink installation ? and what thickness ?
Hi, I used the one that was included with the DMD Chip.

Yes all DLP projectors are flickery due to the rotating colour wheel. LCD don’t have that flicker.
Hi, May I ask if there is any chance to fix LED projector with the same problem?
Yes, if it’s a DLP LED projector, LED is just a light source, the random dots on the screen are caused by DMD chip, I suggest taking the DMD out just like in my video and have a look at the surface of the DMD, if it has random tiny dots then you need to replace it, if it’s perfect like a mirror then DMD is good, you’ll need to look through magnifying glass.
How would I go about finding the proper chip for my projector? I have an Optoma HD146X DLP Projector.
You’d have to remove the DMD from your projector, on the back of DMD you’ll find the number, simply go to AliExpress and search that number, you’ll find the DMD replacements.
Hi I have a NP115 NEC DLP projector with similar issue. Do you know how to find the DMD Chip ? How much does it cost ?

thank you from Nairobi Kenya
Unfortunately UA-cam must have removed your comment. Can you post again?

Anker answered that there is no replacement chip for this device, it does not appear to be repairable 😢
I have some black pixels how would that be fixed is it the same dmd chip problem as yours ? I have the uhd50 optoma

@@MaxELECTRONICS thx
Did you repair your UHD50? I have the same projector with a white dead pixel. I assume I need to replace the DMD chip.
Yes, you’d need new DMD, pixels can be ether white or black, depending in which position the mirror got stuck in.
can I use camera lens cleaning kits to clean the dmd chip 😊
Yes you can
where can I find a dmd chip replacement for my BenQ W1070? on top it says 5166857
1910-6039E and on the bottom 59Z1QWA 190905E
Just search those numbers on AliExpress, they sell them.
@@MaxELECTRONICS those specifically can‘t be found

Hello, thanks for sharing, do you tried to repair the DMD chip as you said ? (testing hot, cold, chocs)
Yes I have, no luck at all, not a single change in any mirrors, the only way is to buy new DMD.

I thought the new DMD still had dead pixels, but I was just looking at my own dead pixels.
Where can one purchase these chips?
AliExpress or eBay
The face looks like someone wearing a crown, like the holy grail
Do you offer this as a service? I trust you far more than any manufacturer technician.
I am but local only, it’s actually very simple to replace the DMD. You can do this yourself.
