I think they picked the right girls. Jenna Elisa and Carrie were stand alone artist. They didn't fit into a group. And Charlye could of made it but she wanted to go to college. And told them she was doubtful about pushing back school. Nobody else was strong enough for the group.
When you are trying to put together a group it doesn’t matter who are the most talented but who go together. All girls in this show were incredibly talented.

The fact that ilisa was so compassionate and empathetic to natalie even tho Natalie was so rude to her speaks volume!! Also it may because im re watching as an adult but people who are whining when you are so close to something "you work so hard for" is pathetic (Jenna ). the whole situation started because jenna went and told Natalie and chrystina what charlye said . then jenna is like 😯 when tiffanie came in and confronted them . jenna talks abt how she doesn’t want to work with “unprofessional people and unclassy people ” yet she is exactly that . instigating the issue and then pretending like she doesn’t know what just happened . if they didn’t want them walking into the kitchen and confronting them , jenna and chrystina shouldn’t of said anything .
I never realised (18.03) when Chrystina won the dance off, Tiffanie was like wft. Robyn and Mickey choose Chrystina because she had a connection with her partner and chemistry as well. They need to get over themselves. Also Jenna started the row between the girls, she went back and told Natalie + Chrystina what was being said about them. She got caught out, she didn't like it. On that point I agree with Tiffanie when she said "you asked us to come in". So Jenna grow up and stop causing trouble. If you don't want an argument then don't start making trouble for yourself and the other girls in the competition.

First she was having trouble remembering her parts which is pregnant brain. And also she was having trouble singing sometimes. Which you see she has a high range. She cracked during "respect" and also "what a feeling"and to switch parts. Most likely do to the diaphragm having pressure on it. It explains why she broke down a few times. Poor Chrystina had alot on her mental. Proof you never know what people are going through.

Another thing i noticed about why Chrystina won. All the girls made routines, while Chrystina admitted for most of the dance it was Freestyled. They only had a little bit of time btw so most girls made a few steps and kept repeating variations which was expected; including Charyle. Chrys however was freestyling which is very hard to do with a new partner. Plus thats risky as hell to do with a new partner. But they did it effortlessly and had chemistry while doing it. He just understood what she would do and she with him And it brought a lot of cool moves out. Thats not something you see everyday and this took her over the edge and showed why she was a top contender. Thats the real reason why she won.
Charlye was so jealous and the test was who had the best chemistry with their dance partner which was Chrystina and her partner and as much as I I felt sorry for Jenna I do think she should have gone over Jamie.

Charlie’s comments scream nothing but in securing and hating on another female for winning. “Popping your pelvis and rolling around with some man you don’t know.” Just because she isn’t comfortable as a dancer to do that does not mean it is whorish or slutty. I think Christina was a good choice for a winner, she performed with her partner with a connection. Charlie kept it professional- that’s great- but for a challenge that’s about being sexy it’s not enough. Jenna wasn’t really dancing but we all know she’s not a dancer period, so she did what she thought would be sexy as a dance which was off mark but to go and include Christina as not deserving is just female hating on female. Those male dancers have “done worse” in a professional job than what Charlie saw that day
You have to remember the climate back in the day. Nowadays, that's seen as "sexually liberating" but back then when things were much more conservative in regards to women's propriety, that would have warranted criticism, not necessarily from jealous point of view. Do I agree? No. Was that just the way it was? Yes.
Honestly, Ilisa and Carrie were just on another dimension. They were so far above the shallow, empty-headed daftness of Robin Antin, her obnoxious little boy sidekick (who was clearly jealous of all of the contestants). Ilisa and Carrie also came across to me as too good for the rest of the girls. It was like watching two grown young women try and work with a group of 12-year olds. Re-watching this as an adult, I cannot help but be distracted by all the immaturity. That said, I definitely think two of the best contestants were selected in the end-- Nichole and Natalie. Both of those girls, immature or not, were superstars. Natalie was the one who stood out the most to me, for reasons good and bad. But I had no idea how much of a triple threat Nichole was on this show. I remembered her as a cute, over-sexualised, blonde dancer in the background, but damn could she sing! And she worked very hard.
