I met Eric back when he was touring Alice Cooper during Alice's Dirty Diamonds Tour....didn't even know he was going to be there...really nice guy and got to talk to him for a few min and autographs too.Cool video :)
they really did. Eric is the perfect drummer for kiss ass it is right now. he brings a great vibe of his own. Tommy just kinda plays the licks,, but Eric is his own entity up there.
Neil Kiernan I certainly don't mind that he's in the band, but he shouldn't be sporting the Peter Criss design, and I don't believe that he likes it. If he could speak candidly, I bet he would say that kiss should've continued with what they were doing before the reunion. Bring Bruce Kulick back and doff the makeup. In an effort to maintain, as much as possible, the success of the reunion years, Paul and Gene decided to change the band as little as possible without having to pay original member salaries. What a way to take a dump on kiss legacy.
stephen geraci By all accounts he likes Ace as a person better than Tommy Thayer. During the time in 2002-2003 when he was again replaced by Peter he did an interview with Eddie Trunk where he said that getting back with KISS would be "less appealing if it didn't involve Ace."
+Lance E He gets a nice paycheck for doing so. Do you get along with all your coworkers? I bet if you were at a bar with Eric S and he had knocked back a few he would rip into Tommy.
awcindy He has played with everyone from Alice Cooper to Brian May. Eric doesn't have to work with anybody he doesn't want to. Where is your proof of any kind that Eric doesn't like Tommy? There is none. It's just in your head.
I would never again pay to see KISS perform, but that decision is not at all based on who dons the classic greasepaint. My first and only KISS concert was in Hartford on the opening night of the 2003 World Domination/Rocksimus Maximus Tour. Was a major fan despite only owning a few CDs and some of their merchandise and watching KISS: The Second Coming on VHS and the movie Detroit Rock City. Up until the start of the show, I had no idea that Ace had been replaced by Tommy Thayer but it made no difference. The show was incredible despite their songs being played at a slower tempo due to Peter's difficulty drumming with carpal tunnel syndrome. Was actually surprised to look up at the screen and see Peter Criss, not Eric Singer behind the kit as I remembered seeing from American Bandstand's 40th Anniversary Special. Being a diehard Peter Criss fan, that made my night. But even when his contract was not renewed by Paul, it didn't upset me to see KISS continue with Tommy and Eric in the lineup. Eric had already proved himself an amazing drummer for KISS and had donned the Catman persona in the wake of the Farewell Tour. And after receiving a copy of the KISS Symphony DVD for Christmas that year, I thought Tommy was a great fit as well in the wake of Ace Frehley's departure. What saddens me, and of course millions of other fans nationwide is to see the degeneration of what was once the ultimate rock experience into a group of old men (Gene and Paul) practically dragging their platform heels across the stage helplessly while struggling under the weight of their outfits and guitars, Paul's once magical rock preacher voice now completely strained to oblivion and barely able to even speak into the mic, and the desperate attempt to distract the audience from the obvious by heaping more and more explosives and pyro to the point of complete redundancy. Gone is the magic, the energy and the excitement. We will always be grateful for the existence of KISS. Now let's Rock and Roll Over!!
I agree with you on certain points there my guy Eric singer is a fantastic drummer having done work for some big names before joining kiss kits Ford Alice Cooper Brian may etc so yes he definatly earned his place in kiss no question the thing that bothered and still bothers me is that while Tommy is a really nice guy and a really good guitar player who’s also done loads for kiss is that bath him and Eric are basicly told to dress up as Peter and ace and tell people thats the original Chatman and spaceman when the hardcore fans and themselves know there not and there’s not a lot they can do about it. I mean gene and Paul are not stupid by any means so why not do what they did with Eric car and vining Vincent give them there own make up THEN that would be the new kiss but dressing up two guys as the original members is the way to go but seriously there really is only one catman and one spaceman and that’s Peter and ace even gene and Paul know that even after all the drama over the years by the way the kiss symthany dvd was epic I got the dvd and broke it from over watching lol
Yep! The only people that don't get along with Ace is Gene and Paul because they are the most threatened by him! Their ego's are too big to play on stage in Ace's shadow. Just tellin' it like it is...
taergehtsiram Answer 1: "You know, I do get tired but the whole thing is when you play for people, they give you the energy. So the more people, the more they cheer, it makes you feel good and even if you're really tired or sick or don't feel good, you somehow apply that extra energy deep inside that makes you wanna rise to the occasion and come through for that." I won't transcribe the rest since it's very shattered talk, but here's all the things he says regarding Ace: First he keeps repeating that he and Ace got along really well, and that anyone can ask Ace and he'll tell you the same. He says that he has _always_ had a good relationship with Ace, even before they were touring together, and that Ace is "a lot of fun." Then he mentions that Ace decided to leave on his own, he wasn't kicked out, and that Eric thought it was a shame as he thought that the band sounded really good when it was him, Ace, Gene and Paul playing live. He also says that Ace seemed to have a good time touring that brief time when Eric was in the band with him. Then a fan comments about how he thought Eric's entrance seemed to make Ace play tighter. Eric politely takes the compliment, but only after replying: "you'd have to ask him."

Eric is a class act. He's a great drummer, he's just not what people want out of the REAL KISS. Tommy, although a very good guitarist also, he is simply covering Ace in everything he does. Eric at least does his own thing.
Eric singer is way more easy to swallow than Tommy. not because I like Ace more than Peter, but because Eric admits he is not the real catman when all tommy does is say, " I'm the space man"
+Branden Banks all other replacement band members, brought there own musical flavor. Tommy on the other hand is mimicking Ace note for note, pose for pose.
Branden Banks My feeling is that Singer resents playing the Peter Criss role. He'd probably prefer to be himself. Either invent his own design or doff the makeup completely. Paul and Gene took a big dump on the KISS legacy in an attempt to continue to sale the iconic image.
I was the biggest KISS fan ever at one time. Fuck-It, I'd rather go to the circus instead. Their clowns are more entertaining and the ticket pricing is a lot cheaper. I'd say it's time to hang it up guys. Pick up a hobby like sewing, or maybe grow a garden, or just plant some flowers. I know you are a smart group of guys and will take my advice. I mean, it's gotta end some time. Might as well be today. Good Riddance KISS.

lucas lopez - Ace wasn't lied to about his pay. Ace didn't understand that his contract was for a flat fee per performance. I'm not defending that contract. But Ace was counting ticket sales and saying he wasn't getting a proper percentage of the take. He should have instead insisted on a flat bottom payment plus a percentage over a certain amount.
i can agree with that i just find it funny how GnP were willing to put up with his drinking n drug use and still wanted him to stay but paul hated peter so much he couldnt wait to kick him out by not renewing his contract and telling the media peter left
Kamren Apelskog I think Ace did say that it WOULD have killed him. I'm glad he got out. We couldn't have handled having a cool, charismatic, talented, funny BUT DEAD guitar god Ace Frehley on our hands!!
@@The_Original_Alex_Channel, KISS doesn’t have a drummer or lead guitarist that are equal members of the band. Just two hired musicians. It doesn’t matter if he’s a better drummer because KISS will always be remembered as Ace, Peter, Paul, and Gene. No ones going to remember Eric and Tommy.
That was Paul and Gene's idea to put Eric in Peter's makeup. But you're right, the band always sounds better with Ace. Also, Ace played much better with Eric than with Peter because Eric was a far better drummer.

Eric seems like a class act! He was very diplomatic the way he answered the questions about Ace and about the band being tighter because of them.
