that is totally awesome all the years iv'e been to gravelly point to watch planes i have never seen a plane approach from Anacostia ....how often does this happens
Sorry, I never knew anybody looked at this video, let alone left any comments! We are the only ones I've personally ever seen do it, and I've asked around a little bit and can't find any other stories of it happening. That being said, if DCA was landing to the south, we asked for that approach as often as weather and traffic permitted. Since we were arriving from the east, coming straight in over Andrews and down the Anacostia for a quick left turn to land runway 19 let us kind of cut in line between guys coming down the normal approaches from the northwest. It would save us 3-5 minutes at least, sometimes more if it was a really busy day.

Wow Aaron, loved your video and music selection. I've never seen that approach from the South onto Runway 19. Thought you were going into Runway One.
