- Monthly Grocery Budget: $50.00
Grocery shopping on a Dave Ramsey inspired zero-based budget can be tasty if it’s a budget grocery haul. This grocery haul for one is a monthly grocery haul on a budget. Made much easier by meal planning for one and grocery shopping on a budget. My secret to success is meal prep and budget grocery shopping.

Disclaimer: Honesty is awesome, so I share numbers and dollars in this post. I trust you’ll honor my honesty. Just so we’re clear, everything filmed here is based on my personal experiences + opinions. Not everything I say here will work for you, but I have faith that you’ll take the information presented and apply some of it to your own finances in a new and creative way.
Am I the only one who watches your videos multiple times. 😂😂 I promise I’m not a stalker. I have recently started eating black beans and love them. I’ve also lost 35 pounds since I’ve started watching your videos. I know they aren’t about weight loss but a lot of the self evaluation etc that you do has helped me tremendously. Thank you. Love your videos. You are. A true inspiration. :)
Teresa L you are so very welcome! 🥂Congratulations on your weight loss! I’m so happy my videos are helping you with your personal goals. 💃🏾💜
Congratulations on your weight loss! That’s phenomenal. I sometimes go through and watch the videos multiple times. I find them really inspiring. I’m off to try and find the crockpot beans video. I need to start doing this for my family....so much better and so much cheaper than canned beans. Thank you Stacey for putting all of this out there!
Tracie Petro thank you so much for your kind works. I’m so glad I’m not the only one rewatching the videos. Lol. Hope your beans turn out great. I’m trying to incorporate more fresh veggies into my diet. ❤️
I do, too. Congratulations on your weight loss.
Oh wow! That's awesome!!! N no, ur not the only one! I rewind a lot, even before I rewatch the video! 😂 Her tips really do help a lot of us!
I had the hugest smile seeing you get the popcorn!! I’m excited to know I got you a snack! Xoxo
Alicia Ryann Thank you so much!!!! 💜🥂
How nice of you to do that
She’s really changed my life in small ways. I am happier seeing her and even though I am doing a family grocery budget 15x hers (sadly) I needed to incorporate new veggies and her Buddha bowls etc help me feel like adding a few new things won’t cost nearly what I thought in my head. If I bought all she did in a month and only found 2 new foods to try, it’d be a win. I’m super crappy at greens and real healthy veggies (not corn, potatoes). So I really appreciate her vids.
Tried that popcorn at Costco. Yummm We are doing Keto, so I don't think we can have that.
That was super sweet of u!🤗
What you do with $50 a month is amaazing!
Thank you so much!!!
@Nyesha Harris and completely empty
Theyre empty because it’s the end of the month for her shopping and she eats her food (instead of wasting food and $ like most people)
I don’t understand how it’s possible to get enough nutrients and calories on this , alone. I’m honestly trying to figure it out.
@@kamwolf3960 easy. Just eat all of it :-) :-)
I love how you use everything you buy! Frugal and responsible! Plus you are eating fresher 😊
danielle b That is the goal! 🤗
If she was responsible, she wouldn't be 200k in the hole. Her video's should be don't screw up your life like I have!😉
I love that not only are you on budget and can make delicious meals with your budget but you prep everything when you bring it home too so it is all ready for use. You are total inspiration. ❤
Thank you! The prep is what makes it possible to eat on such a lean budget! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Still struggling to make this goal, but I wanted to know if you could actually write out the grocery list with the amounts that you buy and we get the total costs at the end so that is great also. Thanks. I thoroughly enjoy your videos. You express extremely well and the words you use are always so descriptive, easily understandable, entertaining and through provoking. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Kenia Allen You are so very welcome. Are you saying you want me to write it out like this. Black Beans/ 2.4 lbs/ $2.69 👈🏾 something like that? Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Kenia Allen You said it all!
I really wish you could come down here to VA and help me to do what you do for $50 a month. That way we could have an in person conversation about financial goals, healthy eating, budgeting, etc. It would be so awesome.
@@StaceyFlowers I would appreciate this
I get so much satisfaction from watching you spend ONLY $50 per month on groceries. I also love the food prep. :-)
I'm so happy you get so much satisfaction! Thank you for taking the time to watch and comment.
@Riemkje varonio Obviously, yes people (viewers) have sent her money, but that is their free decision (its not a scam) I have never heard of her doing shopping for other people, and then being given groceries.... but if that is a new "side hustle" (Dave Ramsey term for additional small job to earn money), I don't see anything wrong with that.
Don’t feed the troll guys.
Well, people donate to all sorts of things - political campaigns, preserve the rain forest, save the elephants (better to help humans?), keep NPR on the radio, that you could argue the money would be better spent on an alternative.... they spend money on beer, cigarettes, coffee, soda, french fries, etc that might be better spent. But its their money to do what they want.
You could probably pick apart the life decisions or lifestyles or spending habits of many people who receive some sort of charity, but most people want to show them some grace and still offer a helping hand, realizing that none of us are perfect.
Stacy seems to be trying her best, and she tries to share her ideas to help others on UA-cam. If people want to support her, that's their business. I honestly don't see where she is misrepresenting herself. She pretty honestly says how much she works, how much she spends, when she gets a donation from a viewer, etc.
I'm the first to acknowledge that working full time would be better (I personally work >80 hrs a week trying to pay down my debt), but Stacy has said that her mental health condition doesn't make that feasible for her. She states she is actively in therapy to help her manage her symptoms. And since we aren't her doctor/therapist , and don't know the details, its hard to be judgmental about her work ability.
@@jenniferharris2864 she has a 'friend ' that has paid her rent, utilities, groceries, therapy, etc for ONE YEAR!!!
What an inspiration ... 👑👑👑👑I just paid off 2 credit cards this month.
I hope and wish nothing but the best!!!!🙌🙌🙌
That's so exciting!!! 🤗 Go you! 😊
@@18missmm thanx

I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL! I recently went on SSI & disability so my budget is very different! Your ideas and enthusiasm are inspirational for me on my new health journey...at 63 I feel like it’s a whole new world. Thank you for doing this Stacey! Peace & richest blessings❤️

Yes she is
Can you do a week in “What I eat for Dinner” vlog? I recently embraced the vegan lifestyle and my skin had cleared up so fast 😊.. I just need more easy meals besides my spinach salads 🥗

I'm absolutely AMAZED what you can do on a $50 per month budget! Talk about resourcefulness!
Love the speed version with the music! Your video quality is awesome. Very enjoyable to watch! I love these grocery hauls.
so happy you enjoyed it!!! Thank you so much for always watching and commenting! I appreciate you!
The discipline is real!!!
It's the biggest factor in whether or not I'll successfully meet my debt free goal! Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
Hey beautiful, I just want you to know that I am proud of you for striving for greatness. You can not live in peace and have debt. I applaud you. You are teaching us so many things: how to live on a budget, how to determine the difference of want and necessity, healthy food options and preparation and to accept our natural beauty. I am glad that you shut out all of the noise and did what you needed to do. You are stretching us all. Xoxo❤
I just love the way you prep and organize your food! It’s giving me all sorts of ideas! And I especially love the way you prep and store your kale! So smart!
Ginger Cooper So Happy you’re enjoying my content!!!
I loved the changes that you made in how you edited this grocery haul to include the pounds of each item. I would love to meal prep more similarly to you and any little bit of information helps! Thank you!
I'm working on a few videos to offer more insight into my process of grocery shopping, meal prepping, and eating. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
I love your grocery hauls and watching you use your pantry to cook simple, financially efficient and healthy meals!
S Hess So Happy you enjoy my content! I love love making these videos! 💜
I’ve left my list at home too many times. So...now....I keep a basic list in the Notes on my phone.... and edit it before I go shopping.... that way it is always with me... or you can take a photo of your list!
S Hess That’s a great idea! Thank you!
@@StaceyFlowers I keep one list on my phone broken up by trader Joe's, whole foods, since I buy different things at each
i click a pic of the grocery list as soon as i make it... helps!
Do you enjoy cooking a lot? You should have a restaurant one day. The world needs your gift of food and business mindset to strategize and share your flavor. 🤔☺ You're such a Gift
Briana Molina I loooooove cooking! The funny thing is I hated cooking growing up. My bonus dad use to make me and my sisters cook and I would get so made at him. Turns out he was right I’d love to do it one day. Lol 😂😂😂
Great video, love how you show what you have in pantry/fridge/freezer first, then shop and prep. It’s very inspiring and motivating. Can you make a video showing us how you prep and cook your golden beets and your beet chips as well? Keep the videos coming, they’re great to watch. 😊
My mom and I both started eating banana peppers because of you! 😋
Tyari Awe. Do you love them? 😍😋🤗
Me too! They are awesome in a salad!! Even Olive Garden uses them lol
I'll be adding banana peppers to my grocery list
I love them now too. So cheap and tasty when added to a salad
Stacey Flowers yes they’re really tasty. They add such a nice zesty kick!
I never ever comment UA-cam videos!! But I have to tell you, your channel is so fun and refreshing! I love your attention to detail and your realness! You are such a blessing and for that God will bless you tremendously! Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Awe thank you!!! I’m so happy you took the time to comment 💜
I really appreciate you taking the extra step and showing us how you put away and prep your food that you just bought! It's so true that you'll actually eat it if its prepped and ready. When I'm hungry I don't want to wash spinach or chop an onion!!! So thank you 😊
By nature I am a frugal shopper and I think that trait was passed down to me from my Aunt who also taught me some great tricks.
Groceries for family:
1. Learn to can foods you buy in bulk as well as foods you grow in a garden.
2. Buy meats only when they come on sale. I buy beef chuck, roasts, pork loin, Boston butt pork, ham, turkey, chicken breasts, etc when they come on sale. Last week I bought 20 pounds of chicken breasts de-boned for .99 a pound, last night I bought chuck roast at 3.50 a pound. I usually can the chicken breast and pork and put that on the shelf - it will last for years. The beef I cooked and froze in packs since I have a deep freezer. I Do not buy meats and store them uncooked.
3. I bought and installed a bidet so I no longer use toilet paper. If you have ever used one you will never want to use toilet paer again. I have been using mine for 10 years - its simple and connects to my existing toilet so I no longer need or use toilet paper. My wife and daughters love it because of how clean they get their bottoms each and every time.
4. I bought a water purifier from burpey - bought it used and placed the filter - I can make up to 5 gallons of fresh clean no fluoride water using the water from the tap or rom rainwater that I collect from my tin roof. Its delicious and effective.
5. We drink tea instead of soft drinks. Lot cheaper
6. We buy a sack of potatoes around February when they are 15.00 for 50 pounds. We can them and /or cook them whole in a rock pot then freeze them . these methods are not good for mashed potatoes but man they can be used from French fries to smothered potatoes to soups.
7. Tomatoes and salsa - we grow our own and can them we make our own salsa and tomato sauce to v8 juice from this
8. Beans Beans and More beans - any and every variety we can them.
9. Rice - we buy a 50 pound sack once every other year for about the same cost as 4 bags of rice . very cheap and it lasts.
10. Any dry food we purchase like flour, sugar, corn starch, cereal, we pour into a quart mason jar and seal the lid. Sometimes we suck or vacuums seal the jars - they last longer and it keeps bugs and moisture from spoiling the foods.
11. beef, vegetable and chicken broth - very healthy and easy to make. Most people throw away the caruses I ask my family and friends to save them for me int eh freezer when I have enough I make my own then jar it - it last for years but I use that in place of water when making soup , ice, etc
Vehicles - Buy a vehicle that gets good gas mileage pretty simple
1. try to do simple routine maintenance like changing the oil yourself can save a bit each year and car will last longer.
Budget - Take a class on budgeting for your family they are offered from time to time though out most communites = it pays
Live below your means
Get rid of cable - try and use and antenna - its free
Use your internet to watch almost every movie nd then some online its free and a lot cheaper - if there is a show you want to watch try and do it at a friends house and make it a get together
Pay off your debt - if you have any debt remember the interest you are paying is money thown away buy something only if you have the money for it
School - College is a wonderful thing but go for a trade instead -
Best advice you can hear is learn a trade. Electrical, welding, accounting, nursing, Plumbing, teaching, mortician, any engineering degree, optometrist, medical doctor, and lawyer. those are the top basics that in my experience never lose out on jobs and are needed all the time. If you are going to go to college take it serious you have the rest of your life to play. Stay away from anything a liberal college tries to sell \you like a degree in the following because they are just trying to fill spaces they dont care about you:
Communications. A bachelor's degree in communications could lead to nearly any career in the realm of media, visual arts, or broadcasting. ... Psychology. ... Theatre Arts. ... Fashion Design. ... Sociology. ... Liberal Arts. ... Microelectronic Engineering. ... Fine Arts. you will surely find yourself one day out of college with no job and lots of debt. The college you go to will tell you they will find you a job when you graduate I guarantee you they wont.
Stacey, our diets only have about 25% in common, yet your grocery haul/prep vids are the absolute highlight of my UA-cam life, lol. You've inspired me to reel in my budget and take my goals more seriously. I thank you.
I’m almost done paying off my debt and I cannot wait to save and get my own place! What you do with your budget is so inspirational and I aspire my kitchen to be as neat and organized as yours is!
This series is your gift to the world! I think the art of meal planning has been lost - my mom has never checked her inventory before buying more groceries, so I never thought to check my inventory, but that makes so much sense! I've been struggling with my grocery bill for over 5 years (I used to spend, on average, $900 on food per month, now i'm down to $400). I quit buying clothes and gadgets, but food - oof! I quit my job recently, but the week I quit, the cafeteria started selling breakfast wraps for $8.27 each. BRUH! It costs money to make money. Now that I'm taking a break from working, I'm harnessing all of your grocery wisdom to create better habits, before I re-enter the working world.
Heather Rosé You are so sweet. I never thought of this series that way. I’m so happy it’s helping you. 💜
Your monthly grocery haul videos are some of my favorites!
Love your hauls. You eat so healthy. So nice to get the popcorn treat. I also get inspired by you. I have a Whole Foods down the street from me and I go in there every weekend to look around, occasionally buy something, and try all the samples. I used to buy a lot from Whole Foods, but I buy at Aldi now to stay within my grocery budget.
I love that you are able to do this. I have to say I don't see how this amount of food can last a few weeks. I'm thinking maybe 3 salads then the veg is over. I really need to try something similar and I will. Janice
The kale and spinach last for two weeks and I return to the store for an additional bunch. This gives me the freshest greens. Thank you so much for watching and commenting!
So I’ve noticed in some of your videos that your celery tends to go limp before you eat it. I know you use it for stock but if you want to save your celery, chop the ends off and stick it in a mason jar with some ice water. It’ll firm back up and stay crunch for forever! 💕
Sooo refreshing to see food budgeting for pretty cheap for REAL Healthy food not just a bunch ot junk bought with coupons 👍😍 Gives hope that it's possible and proof there's no excuses to eat bad most of the time
I know this is very random but I would just like to say thank you for making videos! Ive been depressed all day & it's amazing how one video can make someone's day! 💚
It is so satisfying to watch your food prep! I want to start bringing lunch and snacks to work, so goals!!!
I love your videos, I would also enjoy seeing how you replenish clothing items, house items if at all bed linen, or just non-food
items. Thank You so much for sharing!
I have a Fall Haul coming soon! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
I came across you a while back but didn't give the video a chance. I get so caught up in the huge grocery hauls here on YT. Your video came right on time. I'm trying to live a healthier and less wasteful life. As a family of 5 $50 isn't do able but I know I can slash my spending. Thank you for sharing.
You are so very welcome!! Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Hi Stacey.... My daughter and I follow DR, too and have for several years. We love his program and envelope system, etc. We up north now, but from CA/TN and you can get the tops of the sweet potatoes for very inexpensively and they are delish! You can make them up like collard greens, mustard, greens, etc. if you like that kind of thing. They are hard to find because most stores pull off the greens from the sweet potatoes and toss them... the good news there is that if you ask them to save some for you they usually will... and they will be free. Keep in mind that they really cook down so a huge bunch might seem like to much but don't let em' fool you.
The beets looks interesting. I love how simply you eat. I can't wait to see what things you do with food when you increase your grocery budget.
Almost left to run some errands, but saw that you posted and had to watch! Always good to see you!
alli meehan Awe Thank you so much for supporting my work!!! 💜🤗💃🏾
You are grocery shopping meal prepping goals
Heck yes, notifications are coming through! Good morning Stacey, can't wait to see your haul
Good morning! So happy you are here!

I just got to baby steps 4-6 last week and it’s always great to have a reminder that, even when you’re out of debt, you could probably spend less. You have been that reminder for me today. Thank you!! You’re going to crush the baby steps. 😊💪🏻
Great video, Great personality. How amazing you stick in to your goals no matter how much the temptation around you. I know for sure that you will reach your goal and you will be debt free .
Every video you seem happier and healthier, keep going!
Every day, week, month, I feel happier and healthier. Baby steps really work for both dumping debt and creating a better life.
That salad looks delicious! I need to eat more veggies. Great job on the grocery shop!
I find that a julienne chop on greens makes them even more palatable in salad. Good haul.
Thank you so much!

Ok Stacey, I like when you grab your apron. lol I smile and say ,she means "business ". I went out and bought an apron just so I can look like I mean "business" in the kitchen. lol. Now Im going to have to try Yellow/Golden Beets because you made them look delicious. Thanks for the inspiration.
I absolutely love this! I'm headed to the library to pick up The Ultramind Solution. Thanks for sharing
Whoa...great shopping haul. Very organized and clean food to eat. Love the storage jars and repurposing the cut up vegs. In the event of buying collard greens, cooking in the crockpot is the only way I go now. Just set them and let em go until tender or your preference. BTW, loved the music.
Hey Stacey, can you do a recipe on your sweet potato toast?
The Krystol Method Oh yes! I completely forgot! 💜
Hey from Australia.
Thanks for the inspiration.
I'm downsizing my life and I appreciate any tips I can get.

You are a huge inspiration to us other people out in the world
What makes golden beats so special? Do they not bleed colors or just the flavor? I havn't gotten to your earlier videos if you explained it before. sorry.
I work at wholefoods and seeing those bags gives me anxiety! 😩 however I do appreciate that you take the time out to get a sticker for your bulk items. Just an idea, If you want to add an aspect of freshness to your oatmeal, I’d try bananas. You can get like 2 or 3 for less than a dollar at wholefoods. Both frugal and filling! ❤️
Tereya Farmer I don’t like bananas. 😐 But I agree that would take my oats a further. Thank you so much for watching and commenting.
Stacey Flowers if you like pumpkin, canned pumpkin and unsweetened applesauce are also great additions and fillers to oatmeal/overnight oats! 😋
Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! 😩 I hope you find something to elevate your oats! ❤️
Amazing.. I'm waiting for the day that I go to the store and food is just given to me🙌🏾
That was so sweet of your subscriber. I think you have a very unique type of content, very inspiring to all
ages. I watched your Mother's day video(which was absolutely awesome, I emailed it to my sisters). You
mentioned that you had a son, I believe you said he was 11 years old at the
time. Since your grocery haul indicates groceries for one I couldn't help but think about that video.
I also wear a faded haircut like yours, it is so becoming on you. What was your inspiration for your hair
style? I am a mature age woman that enjoyed watching all age groups, particularly those with a
positive message and a good sense of fashion. You are an inspiration to women your age and beyond!!!
TFS!!
Love watching your grocery hauls!!!!
Girl you inspire me so much!
happy With less So honored to inspire you!
Really enjoy your monthly grocery hauls. Cant wait til November
I love this! Your videos honestly inspire me to be better ❤️
Great video! Still interested in your apartment floor plan and how you organized and decorated! Did you do a video on that? I saw the one when you first moved in and you showed us the closet and bathroom, etc. Thanks!💟
Always take a photo of your menu and shopping list!!!
1 1/2 tablespoon of ACV & distilled or spring water will help with the digestion of brown rice as well..
thejonesexperience Thank you so much!! 💜
Stacy I'm watching you all the way from Kenya. I'm a lawyer too and live life as simple just like you. You can't imagine how much you have encouraged me. I now try as much to live within my means. Can you please show how you make your popcorn. TIA
I love the frugal attitude and planning! You are exceptional at avoiding food waste which is really inspiring. Adding up all of the nutritional information for everything you have in stock and bought only yields ~ 25000 calories which is 800 calories / day. Note that I doubled the produce for the second trip, made generous estimates and included the whole jar of PB! Given that the average woman has a basic metabolic rate of 1400 calories just to exist; what are you not including here?
Subbed! I've been wanting to eliminate my debts for a while now, and I have only a quarter of what you have. Your vids give me lots of inspiration, motivation, and hope!
I really enjoy your grocery shopping videos!
The scarf looks great on you! I found your food prep really good; I didn’t know about drying kale. Sweet potatoes in my area are a bit more expensive now, so I bought pumpkin and squash.
Wow those things really cost a lot at Whole Foods. Those things at a bulk food store here would cost Maybe $10 total maybe 15 but not 30 ouch. But maybe it's because of the organic part of it when I am on a tight budget the organic heart goes out the window unless it's cheaper or on par with the regular stuff. As for comparison the amount of veggies you got for $10 seems a lot more filling and healthier I would have stocked up more at the veggie store. Sometimes buying in bulk is not cheaper then buying something in the package it might be in your best interest whenever you do go to Costco is get your quinoa and Oates there as they have huge packages for them and their organic and they're cheaper than the store they would probably last you many months so you would have to budget them out of your budget for the next 3 or 4 months but would save you tons. I can't wait to see what you make
Thank you so much for watching. I agree that sometimes buying in bulk is not cheaper. I prefer to keep my staple foods organic.
Hey gurl hey. May I make a suggestion? When you steam your rice, try adding Apple cider vinegar (with the mother). Add about 2-3 table spoon for each cup. This will help with your digestive system. If you like sushi, vinegar is in the rice. But I use all kinds of vinegars when I steam my rice and they all seem to work fine.
Also, if you like fermented foods, it’s easy make them at home, especially fermented cabbage....yummy...lol
s scott Thank you for the suggestions! 💜
What do you mean it was "given" to you? Was it free on the store?
You’re very inspiring! Thank you for sharing your journey.
I have ibs and I’ve found white rice is easier on my digestive tract. I know brown is technically healthier but it’s the only non-whole grain I eat so I think it works. I used to soak it but didn’t see much of a difference, definitely not as big as when I changed to white rice. Another option is making cauliflower rice
Where do you buy vanilla powder from
I found your youtube channel through Ramsey's channel and I AM HOOKED
Your food prep is on point! So awesome :)
Have you considered couponing? You could probably get your staples for free or at a deep discount, and use your extra for meats and some other foods that you enjoy.
i've watched this like 5 times today this video makes me happy and reminds me of how i use to live a healthy low cost diet and you've inspired me again. i've just subscribed and cant wait to see more of your videos.. love from u.k
Thoroughly enjoyed that vlog!
So happy you enjoyed it!
