This is first and foremost a learning exercise in case I want to start other product businesses, but could open the way for new methods of funding projects. For example, it would be fun to do some limited items to raise funds for projects like blend.stream, allowing me to pay people in the community to review short films. We'll see how it goes.
It's good that you are wanting to do something; Fun fact: in Fine arts art in frames is equivalent to putting it in coffins, which is why you will typically not see art in frames in contemporary art, it is seen as being dead. Burning art; is part of what we call ephemeral art, art that doesn't last due to it's composition & as it is eroded away, burnt, melts or any other aspect of natural and unnatural decay of it; only lasting as long as the process takes for it to disappear/no longer be in it's original artistic state when it's set up to be seen. 📦
Andy Goldsworthy is a favorite in our family. Inspired by him, when we go on nature hikes, we will often spend some time along the path making art out of what we find. Our hope is that someone else will see what we've made and enjoy it or possibly be inspired to create their own.
Hello Curtis, I'm from Brazil and some time ago I bought one of your products, Procedural Patterns for Blender on a Gumroad. To my surprise when I made the payment I discover that there was a discount for my region. So I really want to thank you for your incredible sense of awareness and humanity. My sincere greetings. By the way, the doodles are beautiful and we can see all the affection and care that you put on it.
📦 Definitely a worthwhile project. You have achieved an online store for physical items. Yet, if they sell, you have also sent these things out into the world to continue or have their own story. As someone who struggles to throw anything away, letting these go meaningfully is appealing.
📦Congrats on figuring all of that out. I've been through that process a few times with digital items and only recently started adding physical items into my site, and they're still sort of digital because they're print-on-demand versus the unique artwork you're offering.
📦Very cool project! Best way to learn things is to jump into a project, particularly one that's outside your usual field of expertise. It takes courage and motivation. Well done!
📦afaik the Astartes project was in part for the author to learn Substance better, so he made the best piece of animated content on YT. So i believe these things can work out ^^
📦 Remember everyone, the Hollow Man doodle not only has extra sentimental value to Curtis, but the packaging now has extra Curtis DNA potential @11:30 😉
I was watching this instead of doing the script adaptation work I need to do. Just joining in the ADD Artist Club. Though, in my case I think it's more Meh, I'll Put In Extra Work Tomorrow Disorder. 📦
I made it to the last butI couldn't find the emoji so I copy it lol 📦. However I might buy the rings next year if no one bought the before that, and then attending the blender conference with them.
📦 Okay..I guess if there is going to be a reason to set your artwork on fire....then that's a pretty cool one....but I honestly, I feel like they're gonna sell. I want one! O.O
This is so thoughtfully personal and well executed. I look forward to becoming a -cult- club member someday. Now if only Ducky would auction off that hat 🤗

I love this idea! Please don't burn your art though - saying this as someone who trashed a load of her art a couple decades ago. 😿📦
Package, couldn't find the emoji😂😂😂
