Why would they stream at 7am?.... Well, that's 11pm in Japan, 7pm in India, 5pm in Finland, 3pm in England, 11 am in Brazil.... Sometimes they stream in the middle of the day here and it's in the middle of the night for a good portion of the world. But when it's 7am here, it's only really the middle of the night in the middle of the Pacific Ocean (sorry Hawaii). So streaming here at 7am is really the best time for almost the entire world. If you're a night owl, you should move to Australia where the stream happened at 1am.
Disney actually owns the kingdom hearts series. This also includes sora as well, being that he's considered as one of their IP's. I guess disney was willing to flex out a bit to let sora be in smash, but Nintendo must have payed a hefty price, considering it's *DISNEY!*
Disney actually 100% owns Sora, Kingdom Hearts, and the Kingdom Hearts original characters. They just have a very particular partnership with Square Enix when it comes to the development and publishing of the games. So either Disney's actually the one choosing to not showcase any of the regular Disney characters for the sake of promoting Kingdom Hearts during it's 20th anniversary or Sakurai himself asked that only Kingdom Hearts characters appear in Smash since it's meant to be a video-game-character-only kind of game.
The way that I see it because of how it's explained, Kingdom Hearts is like a car. Disney owns the car, but Square Enix is the one who drives it. Disney let's them make all of the decisions of where it goes, as long as it doesn't touch their other cars like Mickey.

Not really. I think Sora is such a dorky / dumb pick. Then again, I am in love with the FGCs / shotos lol. But yeah Sora is lame as heck imo.. @@thahalfbl00dprince Smash has always been catered toward a friends and family audience. It’s not supposed to be “hardcore” like Tekken and Street Fighter. Just look at the treatment they gave to Kazuya. They did stay pretty faithful, but they also added their classic Smash flare to him. Sora is legitimately a perfect fit for everything Smash was always supposed to be.

I came late to the party because I started having memories of Kingdom Hearts. Now I ended up here. Seeing people's reactions of Sora coming to Smash. I just bought a switch and need to catch up on some titles that I have to play.
I’m glad you can see how much this reveal meant to us in the kingdom hearts fanbase. I’ve been playing smash since 98 and kingdom hearts since 2002 and we’ve been asking for this crossover since 2005 and we finally got it this day. I highly recommend you play the first two kingdom hearts. Number 2 is literally one of the greatest games ever made and will be remembered forever and it’s held on that regard for a reason. Especially now that it’s available on modern consoles with upscaled graphics and 60 fps it’s really an experience you shouldn’t miss. Even if you skip the first one or the rest of them play 2 it’s honestly a life changing experience, especially if you have a kind heart like you clearly do.

Multiple companies in this respect, it took Nintendo, Disney and square all working together to make this happen and they did it knowing it’s what so many fans wanted and what we had been asking for for nearly two decades. Another fun fact is that square used to be a Nintendo exclusive company and then they had a falling out after the Super Nintendo so this was almost like they both decided to shake hands and finally “make up” since both square and Disney are VERY PROTECTIVE of kingdom hearts

Amazing reaction!! It is sooooo cool how so many people have such a strong connection to this character. I personally don’t but I am very excited to play all of the Kingdom Hearts games very soon! Dearly Beloved Swing Version is one of the best video games songs I have ever heard! I got Pichu, Shantae Mii, and Banjo so I am very happy about the dlc and base game. I wanted Rayman so badly as at least a Mii costume but Sora is extremely fitting. My heart was beating so hard during this trailer and it was great. Smash bros will always be the best crossover of all time no matter who they add.

Looking back on Sora’s inclusion into Smash. I love how Sora’s part of two of the biggest crossover franchises- Kingdom Hearts and now Smash bros. It’s still awesome seeing all the Nintendo characters getting to meet Sora

Somewhere in your video you said that some of us fans tend to be spoiled and ungrateful to Sakurai, and I believe you're right. I used to be like that, always dismissive of the new DLC characters and hated them because I didn't get who else I want. But watching your reaction started to remind me of when I did get the character I truly wanted, and how I should've been grateful and satisfied instead of wanting more. I've watched many reactions, and I like yours the most because its very genuine, full of emotion, and thankful. I already got what I wanted, and I'm just glad your dream character made it in too.
Disney actually does own Sora, because in the copyright Disney was added, right next to Mojang AB. Square jsut makes the games but all thr characters from a kingdom hearts minus final fantasy are owned by disney

This reaction makes me happy 😊 Sora was my good friend's dream fighter and this was the kind of reaction I expected out of him... but apparently he was CONVINCED I had animated the entire reveal trailer myself just to troll him 😂 it took him a week of actually playing with Sora before he believed it was real! And I don't think I've seen him without a sm;)e on his face since lol. Bomberman has been my dream Fighter since I first saw Smash 64's commercial when I was six 😅 and my heart had this same reaction when he was revealed in the "Everyone is Here" presentation... for a second... then I sunk into some deep hurt when I realized he was an Assist Trophy... but it's reactions and dream fighters coming to fruition like this that really make it worth it and easy to be happy for others... And Cloud was my second most wanted since Melee (universes behind Bomberman) but I always new he was "impossible" so he's quite the consolation prize. Sora (and Kingdom Hearts) is owned by Disney, with Square Enix as Developer and Producer. All of this had to be approved by both companies AND Nintendo so I'm sure it was a legal nightmare. However, I'm sure there are some aspects owned by SE and some owned by Disney. I'm unsure what boundary Sora is on but he's more than likely owned by Disney as they had the most leverage during initial negotiations.
I admittedly also bawled my eyes out watching the direct, middle schooler me wanted him in smash 4 when Cloud got announced and then later on they released Sepiroth I was content in him being the compromise rep. But this really put a smile on my face, during a literal weird part of my life he was announced. Thank you Disney and Sakurai for letting him be a part of Smash brothers history.
Probably the most genuine reaction from you yet :') It's amazing how Sakurai pretty much knew the whole time, how much people wanted Sora. Not to mention Kingdom Hearts is a very beloved franchise, and a lot of Smash Bros' newcomers come from beloved franchises too. So Sora fits right in!
Disney actually does own full rights and Square just develops, there's even one mobile game disney made without consulting square at all lol It's a unwordly massive accomplishment they managed to put Sora in bc of that, tho! Shame no Disney characters were allowed to appear but that's alright lol
It could also be because of Sakurai's "Only Video Game Characters will show up on Smash" rule. If anything that was probably the common ground among him, Nintendo, Square and Disney that they agreed upon to make this a reality. And if that's what it took for Sora get in, I'm all for it

KH makes me cry because it meant so much to me as a kid and I'm revisiting it after so long and oh my god it's still beautiful

Even tho Sora wasn't on my list of people i wanted in, i can't argue that he's a perfect fit. seeing people get so emotional about this makes me remember why Smash is one of the best game series ever made. almost nothing can top this.

The whole reveal trailer just felt like being reunited with an old friend after so many years.
This is exactly how i felt.
She went from fighting to not fall asleep to fighting to breathe after seeing that keychain. That gasp was deep and intense, I bet it hurt.
Something to note though, if you did not know this, is that this is the final character reveal we may ever get. Its possible that Sakurai is done making smash content/games now.

Congrats man! It's awesome seeing people getting the character they've wanted for so long. Smash is finally ending, and Sora joining is like Sakurai saying goodbye to us. As if an old friend is saying goodbye for the final time. Whatever Sakurai does from here, I hope he ends up happy doing it.

Somewhere in your video you said that some of us fans tend to be spoiled and ungrateful to Sakurai, and I believe you're right. I used to be like that, always dismissive of the new DLC characters and hated them because I didn't get who else I want. But watching your reaction started to remind me of when I did get the character I truly wanted, and how I should've been grateful and satisfied instead of wanting more. I've watched many reactions, and I like yours the most because its very genuine, full of emotion, and thankful. I already got what I wanted, and I'm just glad your dream character made it in too.

Disney actually does own Sora, because in the copyright Disney was added, right next to Mojang AB. Square jsut makes the games but all thr characters from a kingdom hearts minus final fantasy are owned by disney

Sora was my good friend's dream fighter and this was the kind of reaction I expected out of him... but apparently he was CONVINCED I had animated the entire reveal trailer myself just to troll him 😂 it took him a week of actually playing with Sora before he believed it was real! And I don't think I've seen him without a sm;)e on his face since lol.
Bomberman has been my dream Fighter since I first saw Smash 64's commercial when I was six 😅 and my heart had this same reaction when he was revealed in the "Everyone is Here" presentation... for a second... then I sunk into some deep hurt when I realized he was an Assist Trophy... but it's reactions and dream fighters coming to fruition like this that really make it worth it and easy to be happy for others... And Cloud was my second most wanted since Melee (universes behind Bomberman) but I always new he was "impossible" so he's quite the consolation prize. Lol I dare someone to tell Sakurai anyone else is impossible 🤣

Sora (and Kingdom Hearts) is owned by Disney, with Square Enix as Developer and Producer. All of this had to be approved by both companies AND Nintendo so I'm sure it was a legal nightmare.
However, I'm sure there are some aspects owned by SE and some owned by Disney. I'm unsure what boundary Sora is on but he's more than likely owned by Disney as they had the most leverage during initial negotiations.
I admittedly also bawled my eyes out watching the direct, middle schooler me wanted him in smash 4 when Cloud got announced and then later on they released Sepiroth I was content in him being the compromise rep. But this really put a smile on my face, during a literal weird part of my life he was announced. Thank you Disney and Sakurai for letting him be a part of Smash brothers history.

It's amazing how Sakurai pretty much knew the whole time, how much people wanted Sora. Not to mention Kingdom Hearts is a very beloved franchise, and a lot of Smash Bros' newcomers come from beloved franchises too. So Sora fits right in!
Disney actually does own full rights and Square just develops, there's even one mobile game disney made without consulting square at all lol

It could also be because of Sakurai's "Only Video Game Characters will show up on Smash" rule. If anything that was probably the common ground among him, Nintendo, Square and Disney that they agreed upon to make this a reality. And if that's what it took for Sora get in, I'm all for it
