Great vid! My tips, take plenty of cash, remember to carry your passport at all times, think about the weather, because dressing in layers is better than heavy sweaters. Do not over pack lol and remember comfortable walking shoes and corn plasters 😁
As a tourist myself I love Japan. It is underrated yet overrated at the same time. Really depends where you are going. Things you wanted to see might disappoint you in person
I think like anywhere, unless you are staying for a long time, you'll get the richer experience the 2nd time you visit. The first time will be great. You'll see all the major sights, and love it. The 2nd time though, you'll take more in, not be so rushed, and just relax into it more. Having seen the big sights you'll be searching out other places, going further afield, enjoying disticts rather than individual buildings in them.
That was fantastic!! I agree about the clothes, quality is better than what I buy here in the same price range and you won't find same thing back home either
@@NinjaMonkeyguy Can you get them at the station? Or the usual shops? I need to get one when I come, my family will be scratching their heads when I wear it lol
Everybody says to get out of Tokyo, but for my first trip I WANT to see as much of Tokyo as I can! And it's so huge, surely it will take several trips to see it all? In truth I am planning to go to Hiroshima and perhaps Sendai if I can, but I think I'll be happy in Tokyo for awhile.
i had an amazing time in Saga prefecture, Kashima Ariake sea/mudflats, Yutoku Inari. maybe not the easiest to bang out in a day but its very much worth looking at saga prefecture
@@NinjaMonkeyguythe places are great but you must rely on a rented car or deal with a bunch of bus schedules and trains to various cities in the prefecture. Busses aren't horrible but they require a bit more planning to use. There isn't the super quick and convenient subway system of tokyo much in saga prefecture
never seen a more crowded city like tokyo. it really causes problems if you are not accustomed to the huge crowds constantly moving in all directions around you. also very long lines of waiting and also very very few trash bins be prepared to carry trash entire days in backpacks. top tip: go to a toilet many have some kind of bins for small items. its really hard to carry heavy trash and glass bottles so dont buy heavy packages and come with empty backpack.
Surprised nobody said the Nakasendo trail that's supposedly one of the best way to experience authentic Japan. Also for Japanese words 大丈夫 and おかわり would be helpful.
You should also interview some foreigners who are currently living or have lived in Japan since alot of them know a few secrets that tourists don't know about Anyways, another great video as always!
They all seem so happy to be in Japan! (^_^) ... this Summer Eero exchange rate is so good so I saw so many Europeans ! ... still ... they don't know how to begin talking to strangers ! (^_^)
Yea a lot of Europeans but I doubt it has anything to do with the exchange rate, most trips of tourists in Japan in the summer were probably planned 6 months ago!
@@NinjaMonkeyguy ww! ... my Summer is never planned, it is always ' get dragged back to Japan, visit relatives, escape Tokyo heat ' ... (^_^) ... actually, maybe you will like Ginza 6, they had a beautiful display of Okamoto Taro this year.
be aware that japan sizes are super small. they dont have xxl and xl is medium in other countries. if you need 2xl - 3xl be prepared to hardly find shirts or pants. japanese are very biased against fat people - they wont sit next to you (in fear that you sweat), they often will say a restaurant is full or booked when its not, they will stare at directly at you and even point. in a train better sit because they start to walk to other parts if you stand next to them like you have a desease. fat-shaming is completely normal and you wont see anyone even slightly over thin in any ads or tv. its either pencil-thin, or sumo. if you are "a bit overweight" they think its because you drink a lot of alcohol and some izakayas wont accept you since in their eyes you remind others not to drink because they see a "beer-belly" next to them.
clothes sizes can be tricky its true but once you get your head around it its fine (if youre not too big) for European sizes normally EU S = JAPAN L / EU M = JAPAN L EU L =XL. note that some stores might not stock XXL but they might have them on their website and can be ordered to pick up in store but might take a few days .. I've NEVER EVER heard or seen an izakaya not accept a person due to their size!!
Nice video. But a UA-camr stated you're a bad influence. That keeps this individual from making their daily language learning study targets. Apparently, you end up filming content, and having a enjoyable time together.

Layers layer layers 100% agree 👍
Unfortunately, purchasing clothes and shoes after arrival is not an option for travelers of certain sizes.
This is a valid point.. although there are some stores it’s certainly a challenge
Interesting to see other peoples views i sure that will help anyway going to Japan. Great job

This is so true.. always visit with an open mind or you can easily be disappointed!
I second the Nagano tip. Absolutely great prefecture and perfect apples (and fruit in general) in autumn. Had some of the best apples there.
Ringo for the win! :)
Aomori might think differently.

Yea I love these too but they are hard to make! Heheh

Yea I like the fact that you can’t find the same clothes at home (especially coming from a tiny place!)
I love that Shibuya shirt. Represent!
Little secret but I love it so much that I always have a back up and purchase a new one most trips!

It does depend on how long your trip is. It's always good to get a break away from the city and experience the other side of Japan

Yep it can get crowded but does depend on the area and time :)

I want to rectify, clothes quality is better sometimes but more, they are cheaper (compare to France a least).

Hi! Do you handle editing in-house or remotely? I'm an editor and would love to discuss it if you’re interested.
I edit myself.. at the moment Im not sure if remote editing is something that I could specifically use
