Thanks for this video! How to see spacing between text blocks on six, e.g. I want to place the heading on every strip on the same place or I want to have equal spacing between body text blocks to make it more consistent??? Thank you!
Helpful tips. Thanks for sharing! I have a question that I can't find an answer for anywhere. I'm designing a long scrolling website and using strips. The about and services strips extend all the way over to the sides past the margins on either side (I think that's what they are called - the thing that breaks it into three columns with the center being largest). I am trying to add a recent blog posts strip and it is a different width and looks inconsistent on my PC, but they all look the same on my tablet on phone. Is there a way to change the width of the columns on the recent blog post strips so that it matches the other ones? I hope that made sense.
*VERY* helpful video. Thank you.😁 All the other "help" videos on Wix Strips seem to focus on color, changing the background, adding text etc etc. But no one really seemed to dive into the "why" and the "theory" of using strips. You even explained the difference between the strips and the background which I was having trouble with. This video cleared up all of my questions. Thanks!
Thanks for being so responsive Greg! I do have a question are strips also pages or do the strips stacks make a page so you have to build a stack of strips to make each page? Thanks again! Totally subscribing. Back from a sabbatical since the pandemic and everything is digital now!
Hi Greg, I swear I already asked you this yesterday but I don't see it so I am going to ask you again. My WIX website is going pretty well except for one thing: I like to use full width pictures. I am having a hard time knowing what size picture I can use to not have heads cut off when it fills in the strip! All of my pics are wider than they are tall. I have made the whole picture smaller, made the picture much wider than tall and nothing seems to make it work correctly. I have added a strip, then changed the background of the strip by adding a picture. Is there a different way to do it where it works better? I am hoping for something like the photo optimizer that is available when you preview your site for a smart phone. Is there an ideal size to have your pictures before you transfer them into WIX? Thanks Greg!
Thanks, good intro. What is purpose of strips? Is it to group objects together? I ask because you also demo'd not using strips so just wanted to check pros/cons of each. Also, I'm trying to debug white space issues on mobile, when viewing a wix page via a frame. It seems to be something to do with the objects and how they are arranged, but I'm still lost amongst all the objects, is there any way to rename objects, everything is called "strip" so it's hard to debug.
hi Greg, I'm still waiting for my domain to be transferred from Squarespace, Can I start creating my site on the free plan then transfer it to my domain later ?
Thanks for your explanations. I struggle a lot with two things: 1) I can not adjust the strip height, the strip would slide up and down the screen if I pull the handle designated to adjust the height. As a result of pushing and dragging that handle, the strip would move up and down the screen, but would not adjust its height as expected. 2) the strips so not stay still. If I scroll the page some of the strips would move up and down which is very annoying. Can you please, help?
Great question! I've used it in the past and it seems pretty good! It's definitely a bit more advanced, but if you have the knowledge you can certainly give it a go! Alternatively to WIX, I like to use Bluehost with WordPress. I hope that helps!
thank you sir. it does help and i sincerely appreciate all of your help. your instructions are bar-none the most honest and detailed around. i recently subscribed to your vlasses on skillshare and look forward to finishing your classes. hopefully soon i will be able to take it to the next level
Thank you so much for taking the time to write this :) I really appreciate your support and please feel free to reach out anytime at all that you need help!
This is fine for normal pages but there seems to be no way to utilize this for product/store pages, meaning half the website will be responsive while the other part - the store- won't be ?
Hi Greg - I am trying to change one of my own images on the strip. If I adjust using the resize tool it just changes the number of pixels. The picture is huge and I want it to be zoomed out. (I can't see the whole of the image) How do I do this please ?
If I delete my strips will it mess up my collections? I'm revamping my landing page and I want to take the shop strip off the home page. Will that mess with my product listings?
How do you put a strip inside of another strip? The layout I am using already has 3 strips inside of one. I cannot figure out how to add 2 more (a total of 5 strips inside of 1 main strip). The idea is to have the same groups in one strip.
Yes you can :) Click the minus (zoom out) symbol up top, then hover over the section you want to remove, and select the delete button that pops up. Then click the plus (zoom in) symbol to go back to the standard editor view.
Hi The item background on my webpage just keeps repeating on different heads Like theres a number of people and if i change the picture of one person it becomes the image of every other person. How do i fix this thank you
I get the strip thing and the layers thing, but why can't I arrange a text layer which is on my strip? It won't let me move it forward? And i get the same text on every strip that appears at the top of every slide on the slideshow, i want to change it, but it seems to automatically set it to be the same...help!
@@GregGottfried Thanks for your reply. Website I'm referring here is a blog post with slideshow, in which you can put ad banners, affiliate links, etc , which keep changing with each slide.
Thanks for clarifying! The closest I can recommend is doing this ua-cam.com/video/2FtzvcxFVRw/v-deo.html and then adding Google Adsense from the app store. I hope that helps a bit!

When adding a strip background photo, is there a way to "zoom out" the photo so more of it fits inside the strip? Cropping didnt seem to help...
