Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.
The lovely thing about this painting is that it is easily changed up for those who want a certain color range or reflection of their own items in their own homes. Thanks for the inspiration. Looks like fun!
i LOVE how you use more affordable paper like canson to create amazing paintings! I was thinking of giving up on watercolour because every youtuber paints on arches or something super expensive. Its so encouraging to see that beautiful art can be created even with 'cheap' material.
So after being insisted by my sister to give watercolours a shot, after years i decided why not....and i chose this one to be my first ever watercolour painting and believe my this turned out exactly the same and i used not so high end colours or great brushes but just with a great quality paper and lots of patience to sit 4 hours staright....my sister was amazed and asked me if i was secretly practising water colours I can't thank you enough.your way of teaching is better than anyone
Thank you so much for your beautiful tutorials. I so appreciate that you are branching out from the lovely and meticulously covered florals to these little vignettes. Love the citrus in the Chinese vases. Would so like to see more of these more complex illustrations.
Yea I like to change it up from time to time. Personally I don't think I'd be able to think of these up without people suggesting subjects that I'm not used to painting :D
Thank you for a fun and imminently follow-able tutorial. (I do use the pause function a lot.) I've painted this twice now. Once doing the full bookshelf, and again using half of it, and changing the tea kettle for a tea pot. The smaller version was on a notecard for "thank you" to a teacher whose personal library is astounding, so this was perfect for her, too.
@@Nianiani I just watched this again and I have decided even though I am very new, I am going to try it! I will be changing out the teapot with the skinny tall pot with the very long spout. Wish me luck.
Wow! The variety of your paintings are just unbelievable. Wonderful subject, tutorial, and editing. Thank you so much for including this long, but perfectly edited video. Love to see your videos, fill very tempted to buy a beginners kit and try it myself. I wonder if you could explain more about the differences of the type of paper. Thank you for the inspiring videos.
I'd suggest to go for at least 200gsm, but if you can 300gsm (this is the thickness).
Cold pressed paper is the standard texture most people esp beginners go for. There's cellulose (wood fiber) or Cotton paper - Cellulose is much affordable and is a good start, but you'd have to layer on more colours because the pigments seem to not be as bright.
With this said though, I mostly use cellulose so it doesn't intimidate me to always paint something "perfect" and gives me a chance to practice - though I like to spoil myself a little from time to time with cotton paper :)) Hope this helps a bit ❤️
