Thanks for good quality walk around of the speedmaster. I sat on this bike at the dealership the other day and I really like the fit. If only I had the money I'd be riding out of there with a new red speedmaster today! =]
Glad to hear you are considering buying a Triumph. For modding look no further than the guys over at British Customs. Great customer service and parts that are made for Triumphs.
CGonowboy Harley here in Beaumont, Texas, tried to take me to the cleaners when I ordered a new bike. Changed the deal on me AFTER the bike was ordered. NOT HAPPENING. Going over to TRIUMPH. Really like the Speedmaster and yours is nicely modified. Very cool bike..so I will buy one and follow your advice on mods. Thanks for posting this video.
Great bike all around! Sounds fantastic! A distinctive alternative to V-twin-powered bikes. I'm going for a new Triumph Speedmaster for my next ride.
Nice Pipes..sound Great! K&N Filters are the Best!
Hey guys... Use tune ecu map to eliminate the rev limiter! I have a 2013 with emgo cocktail shakers and u can also shut off o2 sensors and secondary air with tune ecu! Check it out all u need is the right cable!
Sounds great!
Need a video on airbox removal and replace with k&n filters
Sounds damn good!
No problem. Its a fantastic bike and unique at that. If you want to see anything else or have questions let me know.
Thanks for the info!
HA! I've said the same thing about my bike (07 Speedmaster) and to be honest now I like it. Very distinct. Doesn't sound like another Harley or V-twin. Everyone knows it's me pulling up. I wouldn't have it any other way now.
If you are referring to the Secondary Air Intake/Injection then I already took that off and plugged them at the cylinder heads. I dont have popping, the only issue I have is some sort of back fire/surging during cold weather before the bike warms up.
I am looking at a 2011 of this same bike was it necessary to do these upgrades? And how did it enhance the overall performance?
Sounds sweet dude. Looks delicious too :)
My understanding is that the SAI system will cause popping on decel and possibly higher exhaust temps. All the reading I did pointed to removing it when you add air intakes and exhaust with remaps.
You could always leave it and see how your bike runs then take it off. Its not a hard task.....
do you still have this bike? did you have a support bracket on the right hand side supporting the intake? If so can you send a photo of where it attaches?
Real nice.
How loud are these pipes versus stock while at cruising speed? I want something louder than stock but I don't want annoying. Thanks.
I mapped the TOR Short onto bike (which map #, I couldnt tell you but it is the Triumph one) and I have the problem. I am not familiar with changing map settings, but I think I might review the available maps for the EFI 865 here this summer to see if someone revised it.
what the name of that seat you've got on there. I want one
How is the power with all of your upgrades?
Nice clip mate, I also have the exact bike. I must get some more info on the secondary air intake setup. Do you find that gives you much of a boost in power?
how did you map it yourself?
I noticed that I lost a bit of the low end torque that the parallel twins are known for. However, I have no problem at high end acceleration now.
Stock most power was 2k-3000. Now I got great power in the 3k-5500 band.
Apparently, this is a wide spread EFI issue with the 865s. Modded or unmodded it affects all. Go ahead and try to mod the map and let me know, but what I have found that has cured it is the following: >1500 warm idle RPM (Its high I know, but the 865s are an odd motor), shifting at >3500k RPM, shifting "Hard and fast" aka not letting the throttle to 0% during the shift and kicking through the gears quickly. This results in nearly no surging and flawless shifts. Basically, the 865 is high rev.
Nice MODS, how much power increase did you notice?
when you remapped the bike, did you use your computer and go into the stock ecu, or do you have a programmer like pcv? Nice bike man. I'm considering trading in my M109R for this bike. I know I'm losing a lot of power, but the M109r is like a muscle car, you always have to work on it. Want a more smooth bike.
You would. Maybe when you get a bike you can do this too!
They arent too annoying, but you definitely know that the parallel twin is running at its trademark 4k RPM at highway speeds.
It still sounds like a sewing machine. Making me reconsider buying it :P
I have an 09 Speedmaster with Bomber exhaust and plan to do some if not all of the same mods you have on here after consulting with the Triumph dealer for mapping etc. Wondering about your front forks. I have a problem with pitting on them and was wondering if you had your lower front forks painted, powder coated or if you have some type of fork guards on there??
Thanks for a short but sweet video!
No fork issues, but have heard of it. No special things to my forks. I just kept them clean and would wipe them down with some CLP whenever I had it up on my stand.

Thanks.
Also I'll bet its so much easier for access to your battery now that those air boxes are gone. I can actually see your battery terminals!! lol
Hey i was curious if u were able to get over 5500rpm in 5th gear and get over 100mph, and if u have better overall acceleration with this setup and remapping
No. Since I mapped it the first time I have not gotten into the software again. At the time there was no way to reverse or disable the governor to my knowledge. I believe it is electronic based as it is EFI. It seems to be a speed limiting part of the ECU. Ive red lined in 4th and it still shut out at about 103-104.
Ya.. I just wish that the guys at British Customs told me there was no heat shield. I would have opted for the Bombers instead. And they wouldn't take the pipes back because I had already put them on my bike. Kinda pissed me off. I'm hoping they decide to make a clamp on heat shield that can be added.
I have the same bike.. and I've done some upgrades over the past few months. One of the upgrades was the BC Cocktail Shakers. They sound amazing.. but I was a little disappointed that they didn't come with the heat shield to cover the clamp - like the Bombers do. Very disappointing. I don't like the exposed clamp.. it looks cheap.
May I ask what your thinking was for removing the O2 sensors? The purpose of the O2 sensors is to simply measure the amount of oxygen flowing into the intake or exhaust so that the ECU can regulate the proper flow for optimal performance. Removing them most likely not have improved the performance and may in fact have hindered it.
I'm no expert but this is just my guess.
If I did it over again, I would leave the O2 sensors. I probably would have left the CAI also. I would 100% do an airbox delete and pipes.
@@DuffmanPimp
That's good to know. It's helpful to know. Yes I agree the airbox delete and pipes are a great choice!
Thanks for the feedback.
Yeah, luckily the bombers cover it, because that joint is quite unsightly.
I would and I already have a bike that I could do it with just choose not to.
now just replace the front sprocket and you should be good to go.
first
I am looking at a 2011 of this same bike was it necessary to do these upgrades? And how did it enhance the overall performance?
I would say no. I would recommend getting the bomber exhaust and just getting a k&n drop in filter. you should remap afterwards, however.
