Not gonna lie, a lot of Marvel Stories are one of the best comic stories ever created. Avengers/New avengers is just beautiful, Secret Wars, Secret Invasion, the new X-men comics. DC is also great, Superman : Lost, Superman VS the elite, Red Hood and the outlaws Rebirth...

My biggest problem with western comics is just how BIG the super hero genre is like there are tons of great non super hero comics that people dont know thanks to just how big super heros are like if you look at shownen jump, yes a lot of the stuff is similar, but almost every manga is defrent in its own way and there almost an endless about of genres and you dont have to catch up on 60+ years worth of storylines like marvel and dc sense most manga have the same auther and you just gatta start at chapter 1. An other thing that realy frustrates me is how theres almost no marketing for comics like compared to how manga is marked in Japan comics rares get any marketing even for marvel and dc and this sucks cuz there's sooo many great storys which or not marvel or dc that most people dont even know like im pretty shure im the only one in my entire state that knows who luther strode is or have read American jesus.

I don’t necessarily think it’s eastern storytelling that makes manga popular than comics. No one is watching live action Japanese or Korean movies. When was the last time you’ve seen someone talk about a Tokusatsu or Korean horror movie? It’s that people think that manga is the only place where you can get something that’s not superheroes. This is a systemic problem with comics since like the 50s with the comics code.

Anime don't usually shove down a specific view or political belief and the writer don't use he media as propaganda for their personal political believes. There's no SJW talking point in the animes I've watched, idk what kinda anime you're talking about then.

@@albertmaheswara9968 yeah it does. Gundam being a foundation is pretty obvious in its views on Japanese foreign policy in the 1940s, Yu Yu Hakusho shows the treatment of deviants in Japanese society that doesn’t help them, but just makes them treated as good for nothings, despite the fact that they are kids, My Hero talking about the same thing to a more massive scale, Hunter x Hunter talking about the worst of humanity, classism in Shojo manga, the list goes on. I don’t see how trans or gay people existing is as political as exploring systemic issues in Japanese society.

@@thomasffrench3639 japanese author exploring systemic or political issues in their work is not the same as shoving 1 specific political view, and then shaming fans who disagree with that view on twitter, like what the SJW and woke Hollywood does. Do no conflate the two, that's not the arguments I'm making
The animes you listed uses certain political views as stories (minus shojo since you're not specific on that, and Gundam since I've only ever watch Witch from Mercury), I do not argue against that. Using political stances and believes in your story is fine, and it's not the same as USING THE SHOW as platform to further one's own personal political agenda

Dude I can’t even fathom anyone giving this a yes answer. Mangas have so many cliches and examples of bad writing the only people I’m convinced would say yes to this question are either weebs or people who have never actually read western comics. Remember back tingle powerups in dragonball super? The talk no jutsu in Naruto? Made in abyss being a creepy fetish comic? And that’s just examples of the top of my head. If anything the quality is more or less similar.

The west vs east question was dumb because sepecifically marvel and DC are worse right now (mostly marvel) and image for example are good, so it was probably made by someone whose not a western comic reader. Also there many indie authors who specifically emulate old western comic styles and the succeed because marvel and DC are stuck in a weird place and don't deliver what readers want

But the problem is story and character that should to make reader can connect with them .
Maybe you should read some of them to see another comic genre or super hero too. Some of story are goal like long Halloween batman or sandman . Maybe preacher .

Manga is so much better than a lot of American comics these days, however, there are indie comics that are very good and imulate the style and storytelling of manga. The 1930s - 1990s Marvel and DC comics were good. Some in the 2000s were good too. The 2010s was in my opinion, the true decline of American comics. Manga forever will remain supreme. ❤
