This is my first video of yours and I wanna say that I love seeing representation of a well spoken and coherent woman with an education and established career who also loves makeup and beauty and makes time for hobbies like UA-cam. I’m on the track to become a physician and I won’t live the life of an attending for several more years but this inspires me to believe there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

That's so kind of you to say - thank you and congratulations on your career path!

Spoken like a Lawyer! Arguing both sides which I find refreshing. I'm not on TikTok too often but I did see the video of the woman breaking all her PT products and the two statements by PT. You are 100% correct in saying PT should be the creative force and have professionals speak to the business issues. His two videos were cringeworthy. I know the first was taken down but the second one managed to be worse. I don't know anything about PT (and could care less) but I heard that he got his name doing photography makeup which only needs to look good until the pictures are done. That doesn't naturally translate to makeup for the masses. In any case I'm not his target customer. The products you used looked lovely and special occasion. BTW, from my time in the legal profession, many businesses have a policy of not paying obligations for 90 days which could (or not) be a factor here. We won't find the truth on TikTok due to their limitation of time and number of word allowance.

Thanks, Nancy! Contracts should include the payment timeline, but we just don't know all the facts. I've heard less-than-flattering things about him gaining traction because he would work for free, but I don't have any evidence of that. And of course being good friends with celebrities doesn't hurt. 😉

Wow, I learned about a lot more controversies than I was expecting. I knew people were upset with the prices, but some of the other stuff is a bit crazy.

I would say that the makeup brand that had by far the worst 2024 of all was Youthforia, actually. And it is occurring to me that perhaps it is not a coincidence that both Youthforia and Patrick Ta were founded by Asian-Americans who have been prominent in terms of being the public faces of their brands, considering the apparently fractious general relationships between at least some Asian-Americans and African-Americans in recent years. Which is unfortunate to see from a wide variety of perspectives, in my opinion.

You make an interesting point! Youthforia had a huge, huge issue with one product to the point of being practically canceled. Patrick Ta had several distinct issues towards the latter half of the year, so I think that was occupying my thoughts a bit more. I see that Patrick Ta is falling back on his hero product with new blush shades (probably in development for months, but still).
