Thanks for sharing. It is a good quick fix. The best is new cable, but till than it works.
this is how most of the repairman of telcos fix un broken or damaged line
You should've tested it on a broadband wire, probably a fiber optic extension cable and tested it
Is it not good to just connect the wire and cover with vinyl tape?
for outdoor application, there is a need to provide strain relief and provide a protection for the fiber. that us why there is a need for this type of connector with a simple closure
Derped at 4:20 - You got no strain relief, since the jacket isn't held by the splice connector holder.. :)
Yes, the splice connector does not have the strain relief. The booth of the housing will hold the jacket of the cable. Also, the messenger wire was also rejoined together to provide at least strain relief
Justo rompí este cable amigos
Pero yo no tengo todo eso otro modo
Mechanical Splice
How about the signal strength compair to before broken the cable?
Average splice loss of the mechanical splice used is 0.1 dB
Average insertion loss is 0.1 dB for the mechanical splice connector used
@@fiberoptikguru3143 thanks
@@fiberoptikguru3143 what is that of mean o.1db?
@@masbate1371 there are several parameters to check in a optical link. One of this is insertion loss. Every component of an optical link will have corresponding insertion loss. For the mechanical splice connector used, average insertion loss is 0.1 dB
Poor protection, signal is much weaker than earlier.
Yes
@@hsbofficial211 Indeed, no getting away from that unless you use an expensive kit that fuses the fiber together.
For a quick and cheap method this is manageable.
Can i kindly ask for the materials used in the repairs so i could order mine
It is called 2569 Fibrlok
All the equipments required for splicing machine.. except machine😂and remember that, it has a great loss
how about the moist?
Mastic tape will prevent the moist
Is the splice protected?
Yes, the splice if protected from water because of the mastic tape
What type of connector?
fibrlok
why didnt you do the same for the messenger wire?
possible, if you can find the suitable connector
Can i directly normal tape the blue wire ??? Will it work??
Messenger wire is important ?
Yes
What is the name of the tool?
2569 Fibrlok
ano po mas maganda gamitin ito or copler?
this would have low splice loss than using coupler or adapter. but can as long as the power budget is acceptable
Pinagbabawal na tiknik hahaha reading yan.. Good luck 😂😂
It depends on your customer specific requirement. Some telco would allow this some would not. But it works fine. The mechanical splice connector is a known brand and being used for almost 30 years now. The application is new though as ftth technology is new depending on which country.
anong connector yun nd ko makita sa shopee san nakakabili nun
2569 fibrlok or fibrlok po
You will have a hard time splicing the fiber if you will not cut the messenger wire.
Good 4 copper wire😂
In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity 😂

I hate people that only band aids problems instead of properly fixing it.
Well it is a quick fix. It works till you get new cable. Especially if it is a long cable.
Sorry I need internet until the internet company comes and fixes it.
I have no internet for more than a week google fiber technician never showed, so I’ll probably try this…
We just replace the drop.
can too
My drop is 650 feet?
@@bradleykifer13 if fiber asw. Put a slack nid on a pole near break pull slack from each end and mechanical ends your done or just replace the drop.
